How are they copy paste bosses? They're 3 individual bosses with their own abilites and movesets.
I could easily see them adding on to the game via chalice dungeons.
The equipment variety in particular is something that could bear to be expanded. It's nowhere near as bad as some pre-release reviews said, but for example there's not much choice if you're an arcane build. I don't think there's even an S scaling strength weapon.

Yes Summoning works in the woods.
But there is a game breaking glitch that makes it impossible to progress that Sony say can be completely avoided if you do not do any summoning or PvP in the woods.
Patch is supposed to come out soon which fixes this bug.
gun counters are gonna be your best weapon, focus on one at a time while moving in a big circle, you can use the giant head stone for a real quick breath for healing or buffs.
i fought them in this order 1. 1 handed sword guy 2. jerk throwing fire 3. torch sword guy
the viceral attacks are gonna let you be invincible for a moment of the duration, so its very important that you get the timing down right, try to calculate the height of the swing of thier attacks (example when they bring thier sword up and then swing between the that and the swing is the sweet spot). once you get the gun counter down for the fight and keep moving, you gonna whip thier asses.

I switched up to the Church clothes armor set iirc, offered much better poison resistance. But when I finally beat him I didn't need it, I charged in, rolled and got on his ass and didn't leave. Didn't get poisoned once.
slotting a fire, bolt or arcane gem into the weapon removes its physical damage and gives you elemental damage (scales with arcane).
you can also use a bolt paper or fire paper to add elements temporarily to the weapon.
there's at least one weapon that comes with an element on its own. I use it, actually.
Let me first say this is my first Souls game, I'm LOVING it but having my fair share of problems. First question.
When I beat Cleric Beast I seem to remember getting a Cathedral Key or something like that, but now I cant find it in my inventory, what gives?
Also, I've made it to Father Gascione but I'm having real trouble with him. I've been using the Threaded Cane and I've upgraded it twice (maybe +3? I can't remember) but I also have non-uggraded Hunter's Axe and Saw Spear. would either of those be better?
At this point I think I've explored all areas available to me, I think i have the beat Father G to progress.
Based on nothing but gut level instinct, I expect one story dlc and some number of additional Chalices as dlc.

Ah crap, I actually bolded the wrong part. I meant to refer to the fact that (right now) it seems you can basically, competently use pretty much all the items without penalties to weight class (because there isn't any) or (significant penalties to) damage output. Respeccing doesn't even seem necessary since you can basically sort of do it all anyway.
It's not that much of an issue. I'm absolutely loving the game. But it's the one thing that has me wondering whether this is going to have the same legs as the other games in the series.

It is confusing, how people are finding such small things (like sidequests/items/NPCs) is impressive. Maybe I just am used to games "holding my hand" but I am loving the change of pace.

I think it would be possible to beat this game with a blood tinge build, but our have to get really good and unlock a lot of runes and shit before you're actually any good. If each shot almost kills your opponent that's fine for PVP.
There is no "better" weapon usually. Your cane is probably fine as is. trying working on staggering/visceral attacking him with your gun. It does tonnes of damage and when you learn it well he becomes trivial.
If you kill her or you finish her quest line she will give you a talisman which lets you buy her gear.

I love this game, but the dependency on the damn gamepad killed me. The game is so glorious on the TV and only other people in the room can really enjoy it.
Wish I could post a picture right now but I've got bone ash hat/gloves, crow chest, and hunter legs. I look awesome and the stats work well together. Not particularly weak to anything and high defense.

I recall reading that you get a pretty good rune out of her side quest somewhere, one that speeds up your stamina regen or something similar and I really want it
Focus on the sword fighter first. Parry his overhead strikes with the hunter pistol for a riposte; Once he goes down, the hard part is done and you should be able to burn down the caster fairly easy. Go HAM on the final dude and it's another prey hunted.

I don't mind lack of respec, it forces you to learn and think, as well as provides a reason to make multiple characters. What I don't like in BB with regards to specs is that early in the game stats like arcane aren't as useful to specialize in aside from item discovery. It takes a while to get to stuff that validates certain build strategies, at least in my experience so far.
I might have made the Tonitrus one of the starter weapons and improved its arcane scaling to offer a "electric cleric" role and provide some arcane focused strength til you get a lot of hunter tools.

First try to avoid locking on to these clowns. They where handing me my ass until somebody explained how to take them on and with this strategy I destroyed them. First take out the agressive katana guy he's super easy to stagger and counter. Keep moving to avoid the caster, take him out next by running in circles around the arena and passing by him and swiping at him. I used LHB +6 so YMMV. Lasty take on the other guy who at this point has started using his AOE powers but he goes down quickly with a few good combos just stick close to him.
This is a 100% glitch thing? I summoned someone near the boss...
Oh, Ill go check there again. I went through there the first time before beating the first boss, but theres probably some spot I havent checked out yet.
Kinda amazing how much better I am when using the saw versus the whip cane.
I've only had success with other Gaffers here. I tried randoms and they all die before me. So bad. Gaffers are the best.

You don't get anything aside from a Sword Hunter badge from the Cleric Beast. And yes, Father Gascoigne is necessary to proceed. Gun parries work extremely well against him.
