I give up. I find my cousin more sexually attractive than my GF and she dumps me?

Dating sucks. Finding the right person is great but it's such a pain in the ass to get that far. And even then they could drop you at any second. Forget that.

Also your gf sounds insane. If she hadn't seen that convo, something equally irrelevant would have made her flip out eventually. Edit: Just saw the joke.... I dunno anymore, lol

lol, all for a stupid joke it could not be that bad.
Here's the joke. It's stupid, you will all prob say I deserve the breakup but i'll be honest. It's not even a joke really but this is what I said.

She asked me why should she friend me on FB. I listed reasons like I think she is smart, ect

and at the end I said

" And also, you are sexually more attractive than her, LOL"

Look, if I deserved the breakup over that comment. That obviously was stupid, inappropriate go ahead and tear me apart. I want to know if it was justified for her to breakup over that comment.

To be 100% clear nothing ever happened between me and my cousin in any sexual mamer

oh shit, well she only threw you out of the house.
And then it was not even a joke! lol you pig.

Come on people. Yeah he fucked up but we all do. Let's help him.

You fucked up, that's human nature. We all make several massive fuck ups in our lives as we are all complete idiots.

Given the information you have told us such as the insecurities the relationship seemed edgy. You triggered it but it was only a matter of time it seems like til something would blow up.

I won't say stop being depressed, because this is gonna make you depressed naturally. HOWEVER DON'T STOP LIVING YOUR LIFE. EAT SOME GOOD FUCKING FOOD, GO OUT, CHILL WITH YOUR FRIENDS, HIT THE GYM, GO TO WORK, CLEAN YOUR ROOM/HOUSE AND DON'T LIVE IN FILTH.

GET ON TOP OF YOURSELF AND DON'T LET THIS RUIN YOU DAWG.

Me reading OP: How bad could it be?

" And also, you are sexually more attractive than her, LOL"

I knew coming into this I would be flamed. deserving too.

Here's my point.

An (drunken) inappropriate comment to another female is enough to break up a relationship? Yes or no?

Depends on context. She was insecure and your relationship was built on very little trust, so yes.

Yes. I've known couples that have broken up over worse things. The fact that it was your cousin too is just... god damn...

For some people yes. It's more than that simple act tho.

Given the insecurities in your case it's enough. For others perhaps not.

I mean, he's not talking about giving up on life. He's going to take a break from dating. And honestly, that's probably the best thing he can do. From what he's posted here, it's pretty obvious he should mature a bit before trying to get in a serious relationship again.

People fuck up. He'll get over it. Best thing he could do would be to recognize his mistakes, realize he was an idiot, and chalk it up as a learning experience.

It depends. But if you say you two spoke of marriage and the like. I honestly think this is something you two could have talked about any worked out.

But you say she was insecure. If she wouldn't let you have a lock on your phone then yea....There is just no trust and lack of respect from both sides.

Drunk doesn't mean shit. It just means your safety isn't on, so you say what you really feel.

Its more than the joke, which was stupid btw. You two were supposed to go out together you said? But instead you blew her off to play games with your friend? When she came back she probably wanted to know what was so important that youd bail on her and found out you were perving on some other chick. The fact that it is your cousin is worse and would make someone think that you're into incest and nope the hell right out.

even with the weird creepy joke to the cousin while drunk, i'm just going to assume there is way more to this than just that one solitary event.

remember everyone, this

" And also, you are sexually more attractive than her, LOL"

equals this

well, I made an inappropriate joke to her and she ignored it. We use to joke around that way years ago and it didnt fly with her. I guess she matured.

from the op's perspective. not what i'd call a reliable narrator. 'inappropriate joke'. maybe the cousin just got tired of years of creepy come-ons and clued the gf in.

Fuck yeah.

You broke the golden rule.

I was with a group of guys once, where at you know 2 am ish, one announced he was going home to "fuck his ugly girlfriend", "She needs to go to the gym" blah blah.
Now this is a bunch of guys who would not wince at the most out there insensitive remarks. Whether directed at themselves or others outside the group.
The guy's bravado was annoying for sure, but the reaction of everyone just shuffling there feet waiting for him to leave was telling.

Whatever you think yourself, you don't insult your girlfriend like that. Its so disloyal.

Also you want to bone your cousin so there's that.

That was my intuition as well. If I had to guess, all those years of "joking" were rather one-sided.

didn't sex. I was hammered and attempted a joke to maybe flatter her or shock her. It was stupid and yes creepy i get that. But the history you dont know is that we would joke that way in the past. nothing ever amounted to it. I'm not that kind of person. But enough for my ex to break the relationship apart? shatter everything we planned?

A inappropriate joke like that? I might was well fucked another girl that night. the results would have been the same.

No offense, but you don't sound like good BF material at this point in your life, certainly not husband material. Getting hammered and going on Facebook at 3am to tell another girl (your cousin) that she's sexier than your GF ?

Why did you have to beg your cousin to be friends on Facebook ? Why did you even send a friend request to your cousin at 3am ?

Dude. She didn't flip out because you sexted your cousin (although that is weird as fuck and it is inappropriate). The problem has nothing to do with whether it was appropriate or not, nor with who you were texting.

She flipped out because you basically implied you don't find her attractive. That kind of comment is like a bulldozer for one's self-esteem. She probably thinks you don't/didn't really like her, and if so, it's understandable that she'd end it.

Come on now, I'm fucking terrible with women but even I can see why she'd be hurt by the comment you did to your cousin. (which doesn't mean she treated you right either btw, I'm not defending her, I'm just saying you did do something wrong, just not what you thought you did wrong)

An (drunken) inappropriate comment to another female is enough to break up a relationship? Yes or no?

Yes, yes it does. Especially when you add it to everything else you did. Can't take it out of context and say that's all you did.

I was about to say, given the context initially a joke shouldn't be enough for her response.

I stand corrected though. I don't think you should give up dating because that is clearly a punch in the face of a learning experience. But wow, yeah if I read something like that it would bother me.

You should give up on dating

Oh wait

Maybe its a good thing, it'll open up new opportunities for you to explore

Usually, no. But yours, that comment... Imagine the roles reversed. Something like she says to her cousin " and you have such a nicer package". Woulldnt it be really hard to unhear that?
People fuck up. You fucked up. Chin up and learn from this. Other opportunities will come, I swear.

Thank god my cousins are ugly.

And people wonder why incest porn is so popular nowadays.

No... No you didn't...

Rereading OP's last relationship thread, it appears that his tag was in reference to breaking up with his last cheating GF. So I can understand why he'd be so jaded, this relationship started just after that one ended if the timeline's are correct.

This may sound kind of fucked OP, but maybe you should start seeking women without so much...baggage? Having kids isn't an automatic red flag, but you seem to have a type and keep running after them. If having kids is important to you, maybe you should start a family fresh? You're 29, not 40, no need to dive in head first into these emasculating situations one after another.

"You called someone else sexier than me while you were drunk!"

"No no, you don't understand! That's my cousin!"

"...... That's supposed to make it BETTER?"

"I mean, we used to joke like all the time when we were growing up!"

"You used to call her sexy all the time while growing up?"

"Yes."

I don't know where you went wrong, OP. Truly a mystery.

no it's totally normal to cruise facebook for relatives, while drunk, in the dead of night and tell them how much more sexy they are than your current significant other.

This killed me.

I don't think there was any saving your relationship after your now ex read that comment. Time to move on ...and maybe learn to not tell your cousin you think she's hot?

An (drunken) inappropriate comment to another female is enough to break up a relationship? Yes or no?

I'm gonna say yes if you are related to said female

I mean I have a cousin that I'm pretty close to and is also quite the looker, but I'd never even think of saying anything like that. Even if I had some weird incestual urges I would probably keep it to myself forever. Now neither your ex or your cousin likes you.

Alcohol is a hell of a drug. Glad I'm a pot head.

Haha, wow, first that's insane to say to someone else when in a relationship and its your cousin? Yikes
