After the
one reborn
scaring the crap out of me I decided to stop forward progress and go back to earlier areas. Farming vials and echoes in the forbidden woods and found some neat gear and a mask that reminds me of scarecrow from Batman.

I'm really down - Rom is just fucking with me. I took a break from him last night and beat DBP in one try, then back to Rom.

I've tried taking out all the adds first - keep getting fucked by blue rocks from above/below - got him to the 3rd stage 4 times, killed all the small guys and I still die.

My wife is laughing at me - I even tried getting help, I've wasted 6 insight on no-one turning up and me losing patience waiting, and the one guy that did answer died in the first stage.

So yeah, I'm going to explore the lecture hall tonight instead - I'm only level 54 - but this shouldn't be an issue - I know what to do, I just can't do it

love this game

Never lock onto Rom. Just keep running in a curved line so that you won't get hit by it.
The only real difficulty is not getting hit by the other spiders.

Whatever you do,
don't worry about the spiders once Rom starts using his homing missiles.

Lame. Good to know. I guess I'll close and reopen the app next time I die or something.

Hey, do you get any benefit from someone rating one of your notes positively like in previous games?

waves at Hawkian

Where are you in the game? I'm in a forest. Have made it to the boss. You there yet? We could co-op. I'm level 52.

:)

PS: I HATE SNAKE PEOPLE

Thank you everyone who was helping with R
om
strategies; I was able to beat him first try last night (although over leveled at 62 may have helped^^). He and the W
itches
are my only "one shots" or "first tries" at the moment, but am really enjoying finding all the different builds I can make around Skill and Arcane^^ for the curious I used the
ignore spiders and 2 hits then dodge
method. Bolt paper helped a lot also^^

Is there anyone that can help me with the forest boss? I've been stuck on this one for awhile and can't find anyone to summon. I'm level 42.

nowhere close, I haven't been able to play too much but am getting into it tonight. i'm level 18. Good to see you too buddy.

I wonder if there's anything other than random glitches that people haven't found in this game yet. There's only two loose ends that I can think of: (major spoilers)
The "key" gem you get from killing the Queen in chalice, and the old dude in the rocking chair sitting outside Rom. I got a weird effect when I spoke to him the first time on NG++, looked sorta similar to absorbing souls but with a blue glow. Not sure what it did, though.

That was you gaining insight.

Well I didn't do the
dupe glitch so I'm behind everyone else
- I'm sure you'll catch up.

Dhruv and Orthogonal were kind enough to help me, I would help you if you want. :)

Alright, minigun guy + Saw Spear Hunter guy in Old Yharnum is just horrible. I managed to jump my way down to the Rifle Spear room, but what's the "real" method for getting through them?

Run straight forward from where the minigun guy starts firing until you reach the ladder to the minigun tower. Ignore the Saw Spear guy, he won't follow you up the ladder.

I think that's the 'expert' way.

The way I think you're supposed to do it the first time is:

Drop off edge in first area gatling hits, go through house, past open area where you get shot at and attacked (draw the enemies into house so you can fight them w/o being shot at, then sprint across to bridge, go across wood plank bridge to where birds are, then go through the area with wolves and witchy things (use pebbles to fight in safe zones, w/o drawing fire). You'll need to roll across the bridge to be sure you don't get hit by bullets, but it's easy. This will put you under the gatling, and behind the other hunter. Kill them in either order, but probably do the ground guy first -- he's easily exploitable from behind as he sort of just runs down the stairs, attacks, retreats..

Old Yarnham is the best area in the game, IMO. No contest.

Second is Forbidden Woods.

I'm having a hard time to decide the weakest/easiest boos in the game...

My three options...

The Witch of Hemwick
Vicar Amelia
Darkbeast Paarl

I was near to give
Pearl
the trophy but I killed at first try the
Celestial Emmisary
lol

Now I'm between these two.

It's been a productive evening for me. Managed to beat
Micolash, Host of the Nightmare on my first try. Very interesting boss "chase"
.

Afterwards, I decided to go through the
Nightmare Frontier as it seemed like an optional area and I was right. Amygdala was an absolute push over. Destroyed her on my first try. Guessing I'm overleveled now with me progressing with the Nightmare of Mensis instead. Also feel like the whole spider/frenzy ordeal made me a better player :P

Off to bed now and hopefully I'll be able to take a crack at the area near
Iosefka's clinic

What the fuck?
Paarl
is a monster at low levels and
Vicar Amelia
is no slouch either. Both are way harder than
The One Reborn
or
Blood-Starved Beast
.

For me:

Witch of Hemwick - Spawned minion is waaaay too slow, and you can use the room easily to avoid the few things the witch even does.

Micolash - Biggest wimp in the game, and my least favorite boss overall. Only remotely threatening attack is the AoE magic which is easy to dash through, and every other move gives you a year and a half to punish him.

Celestial Emissary - Feels more like a joke to setup for Ebriteas right after--the mobs are not an issue with the room layout since they slowly walk towards you, making it simple to just get up on the side so they all follow, then drop down and hit the main one. Big alien attacks are slow and easy to avoid.

What's the method to use?

I feel the Skythe has a better dodge I just stayed close and dodged (sometimes 3-4 staight times) until he paused for a L2 in and immediately dodge towards him (either to his left or right which ever side was more open)

That said I still need 12 vials to beat him. Ludwigs 2H was too slow he would move so I would miss or I would get hit by him before I dodged away. Ludwig 1H was too short I had to be too close (could not get away from a few of his attacks)

The key is to circle (most of his deadlies attack are straight out) him not to roll away or straight through him(if you roll by him he could do a quick hit on you when you get behind him).

Is that a joke?

It's
the one reborn
imo
I don't know I started the battle with
Vicar
and got her back... after that I just saw her down for Vicerals... I just don't stopped to hit her from back.... she almost didn't hit me.

Edit -
the one reborn
is pretty easy too lol

What the fuck?
Paarl
is a monster at low levels.
lol took me less than one minute... perfect battle (no hit)... just stay behind him hitting R1 and he will be down for Viceral... you can recover stamina when he is down and hit R1 again.

These are jokes bosses :P

Witch of Hemwick
I didn't even care about the minions lol just
stay looking for the bitch when I discovered there are two.... didn't changed what I was doing

I can only assume you experienced the boss memory glitch.

V
icar
and P
aarl
are both HUGELY influenced by level from what I can tell, more than any other boss in the game since it seems like the stun is damage threshold based, you can just keep restunning them if you're powerful enough. I was barely touching V
icar
's HP the first time and found her to be one of the harder fights, even if she got nuked from orbit when I did it on NG+

The side door before the boss of layer 3 leads to ancillary area that has a ton of 4 of them. 2 chest with 2 in each. One of which is easy to miss.

Really? I thought I explored all of it the first time I went past, and I just combed through it again and still can't find them. :I

Mind you I need more than that even, only got one at the moment and I'll need 18 in total.

I don't think so...

Well this video is from my friend... he sent me after we told him to go from back or below and stun
Vicar
: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01ytj__fm9E

This other video is how I beat
Paarl
(it is from a friend too and I think did even faster than him): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsf-kTTMNuU

Bsb was the worst boss for me... this fucking beast killed me over 20 times.

Now after fight
Celestial Emmisary
I thought it was a joke.

Well he's overleveled for paarl. Lot of people take it on as their 4th or 5th boss.

I've had a hoot with people's shenanigans in CO-OP. My favorite was when i called for help to beat shadow of yharnam (First time in the fight). I was just being a chicken and homedude showed up and waited right outside of the fog, to up the difficulty. I beat shadow of yharnam anyway, and he IMs me on PSN and says "You have passed the trial of the forest!!"

Finally beat the game and did all three endings. Man, what a ride! Bloodborne is definitely my GOTY so far. I still need two more trophies for the platinum: the one related to the chalice dungeon, and the all weapons trophy. I gotta see what weapons I'm missing.

Edit- Ah, I gotta finish up
Alfred's
quest line for a certain weapon.
