First one:
You missed it. You can get into the cage going left where the second bonfire is, before the bonfire.
If you want specifics:
There's a gap in the railing on the right side before the amygdala shooting laser at you.

Second one:
I think the gatling gun hunter is friendly if you go that way, under certain conditions at least.

Not sure on the first part, but for this.
If you haven't killed the Gatlin Gun npc, you can now approach him through the level unseen from behind. Make it up his tower and he is "friendly" and gives some stuff.

Ah OK, I'll look

Damn, a shame about that dude, I already killed him!

Wait a minute!!! how did you use bolt paper?? I can't use it!! that could change the tide in my favour.
I didn't kill the spider though, that helped me in the story but maybe here could be a good idea.
I'm not sure to be honest. I tried applying bolt paper to my burial blade but it was grayed out, so I tried on my twin blades (forget what they're called) but it was grayed out so I just went in with trusty old Ludwig's Blade and it suddenly let me use it.
Burial blade and blade of mercy both do arcane damage on top of physical damage. You can't use bolt paper or fire paper on weapons that already have some additional damage type on them.

I can't dodge into his attacks well. What did you do to get the timing down? And I'll try these tips when I get back on.

Just takes a bit of practice. Eventually, it will click, and the boss will be pretty easy afterwords. That's probably why I like him so much, nothing feels cheap about him. It's difficult for me to explain how to fight this boss because I just tunnel vision it at this point, but I suppose I will have video evidence soon if you'd like that.

This feels like a surprisingly doable thing. All the toughest bosses are optional and the mandatory portion of the game is quite short when you know what you're doing.

I agree, though, I'd probably do all the optional stuff as well just because.

Maybe the weapons are unavailable for that type of magic, I'll try Ludwig's then.

Thx, I didn't know that!

I wanted to take the U

Hey GAF, this is my STR character:

So I've been through all the areas now...there's no area I actively dislike, but I'm curious as to how you guys would rank them.

For me it's (area spoilers below):

1. Forsaken Castle Cainhurst
2. Forbidden Woods/Byrgenwerth
3. Central Yharnam
4. Upper Cathedral Ward (Would be #1 if it was longer...damn that vibe)
5. Old Yharnam
6. Hemwick Charnel Lane
7. Nightmare of Mensis
8. Cathedral Ward
9. Nightmare Frontier
10. Lecture Building
11. Yahar'gul, Unseen Village
12. Chalices

Hmm...a lot of these are fluid as I enjoyed a lot of the areas in this game.

01. Upper Cathedral Ward
02. Forsaken Castle Cainhurst
03. Old Yharnam
04. Hemwick Charnel Lane
05. Central Yharnam
06. Yahar'gul, Unseen Village (before the veil's collapse)
07. Yahar'gul, Unseen Village (after the veil's collapse)
08. Forbidden Woods/Byrgenwerth
09. Cathedral Ward
10. Nightmare of Mensis
11. Nightmare Frontier
12. Lecture Building
No Rank. Chalices

1-7 are damn close to tied with eachother. 8-9 are tied. 10-11 are tied. The only real one that I didn't enjoy is 12.

No ranking for the chalices as I am not done with them yet.

I think Cleric Beast glitched on me in NG+. He just kept doing the same hand swipe over and over, not even paying attention to me unless I got right next to him.

Yep, beat the game twice and once on NG+, almost have platinum and now you're telling me I have to manually take stuff from the stash. No wonder I was always running out on everything.

Has anyone had this problem? I beat
Vicar Amelia
and lit the lamp, and once I tried to enter the Hunter's Dream it never actually loaded there. It then would not let me return whatsoever and using the Bold Hunter's Mark did nothing, either. I even quit the game, and it never went to the main title stuff, it went through multiple loading screens before finally dumping me into the Hunter's Dream. I'm half worried to go back on, if that screwed up my save or something.

I just got a blood rock from a random Chalice Dungeon. Was not expecting that! I used the Short Ritual Root Chalice to find another dungeon to loot for ritual blood. I find that it connects you to the highest level chalice you have available to you.

This is the glyph:
kwrmpm66

It's Lower Loran, depth 5. The blood rock is in a chest in the side area before the first boss. It's heavily guarded by spiders, werewolves, and one of the guys that rushes you, but it's not too bad for a blood rock! There's also some ritual blood (5) in another chest in this side area.

Hey can someone help me out here, is this a case of not every lamp having fast travel? I am in
forbidden woods
I have lit the lamp there but can't travel to it at all, whenever I respawn from dying in that area I respawn back at
cathedral ward
. I am trying to get to the boss in that area, I have the shortcut door open next to the lamp but still seems like a long way to run

Try returning to Hunter's Dream from the lamp you want to respawn from and warp back.

M
artyr Logarius
is destroying me still anyone help me with the fight im tired of keep trying over and over.

Killed me a thousand times until I realized that when he's charging his power you have to stab him in the back, that will make him vulnerable to bullets and parry afterwards, do this to win!

If anyone needs help with anything around SL100, I'm down to do stuff.
PS. Gimmi some Ptumeru (5) Roots with some sweet Chikage loot :D

So I've not been doing any of the chalice stuff at all. I think I finished just one layer 1 dungeon. Should I be going through that? I play exclusively offline if it matters, and have beaten all of the bosses through Unseen Village.

Sweet thanks, I'm always down for easy blood rocks!

Ooo, thanks for this.

Defiled Pthumertu Chalice created!

Ok so how do I beat A
bhorrent Beast
in the Ailing Loran Chalice?

Half of it's moves require dodging almost immediately, the other half require doding at the last possible millisecond. Once I figured out which was which, it wasn't so bad.

Are you aware there are different fast travel headstones in the dream?

My cheese strategy:

Lock onto him and throw 1 poison knife. Begin walking backwards from the boss and go around the perimeter of the room. Roll backwards if necessary. Keep an eye on his health bar, when it stops moving, throw another knife. Keep repeating until the boss is dead. You'll need about 15-16 knives. You can throw molotovs to help speed up the process, or fire your gun. But only do this when he is recovering one of his attacks.

I've run into a glitch.

I was fighting
The daughter of the cosmos
and I died. Now I can't use the elevator to get to her anymore.

The device says its unoperable.

Anyone know what to do?

I understand.
Amygdala
,
Blood starved Beast
, and the
Bloodletting Beast
are my favorite bosses because I know their moveset well enough. Abhorrent seems like an interesting fight once I get the hang of it. And I'll definitely watch your video.

That thing is broken for quite a few people, including me. Only known fix is going into New game plus :/
