That was my first look at Atom, and I was wondering why they turned him into charisma-less Iron Man. But that ending was cute. The actor is pretty damn terrible though. Like, Roy levels of bad.

I like him, but they overdo the dopey doofus angle. I've liked Brandon Routh pretty well in other roles (Superman, Scott Pilgrim).

No actually it's not, especially when he's a cop. If you really care about someone then you should trust them enough that when they say "drop it, I really can't tell you about this," you respect it. Iris had no problem lying to her dad and coaxing Barry into lying to him as well about her relationship with Eddie.

I agree with you. Either Eddie should just tell her the secret or he should tell her that it's not his secret to tell but at the minute he's just lying to Iris and she knows it so she should be unhappy with him.

This was a fun episode and more Ray is always good as he doesn't do a lot on Arrow. Felicity has been too serious on Arrow this season so it was nice to get the fun, cheesy, awkward Felicity back for this.

If he were straightforward with it, sure. Instead, Barry has to go talk to Iris about it for him, because he can't look her in the eye.

Yeah, it's a legitimate relationship problem and extends to more than this secret.

To be fair though, Ray was originally supposed to be Ted Kord. Too bad they didn't seem to do much to later their plans when they got turned down from using him and moved on to Ray.
 
if Wells had a camera in Barry's lab what in the hell is to not think he's had one in Joe's office or any damn where he pleases.

Wells is on top of shit.
 
The episode was fun, except for the Iris drama. It's just so incredibly bad and makes you hate her character, because it's written in such a dumb fashion. Barry tries to calm her, she seems understanding and in the next scene she's all like "if you don't tell me, it's over". How's your very first reaction not "ugh, what the fuck, Iris?" and I honestly think it's because of scenes like this why people hate her character. The women and their scenarios are just badly written and maybe some people don't necessarily realize that directly. So instead of directing their anger at the writers, they just say "omg Laurel/Iris/Felicity/Thea sucks, she needs to die, pls die already" etc.

Also, Barry needs to control his emotions around Wells, just so the directors of the episodes can fucking stop with the close ups on his face, whenever Barry is acting all mopey around him. Yes, after the 84th close up on his face I think I understood that Wells is getting suspicious, thank you!
 
Fun episode overall. The puns made me laugh, I'm a sucker for a bad pun :lol :P

And I actually thought the Atom scene with him flying through the city looked pretty good. Impressive for a TV show anyway.

Good to see Cisco and Catlin knowing about Wells now.

So is this week's Arrow another crossover or is that next week's Flash? A little confused on how the episodes will eventually sync up.

I'm done with this place. You guys already complained about the great Rogues episode and now this. NO FUN ALLOWED.

It's literally insane that they won't tell Iris, yet they write her character so badly that you still dislike her.

its so funny how felicity spoiled the plot of arrow season 3 in like 2 seconds just because.

edit: liked the episode. felicity was so much better here than on arrow. wish she would trade places with iris. then iris can be miserable in the show full of misery.

We are in a wealth of comic book adaptations. Why divide and condemn when we can fucking celebrate?

It kind of did for the first 8 episodes. Then it kind of dragged but kingpin and Murdock are the best things I've seen on superhero television. The rest though has similar problems to other comic TV series

Nah, man, you misunderstand me. Daredevil is alright, I've got no problem with liking it. It's the "now that Daredevil exists superhero shows must be X, Y, and Z" narrative that I'm speaking out against.

I mean hell, I liked it.

This is gonna sound weird (and should probably be the last thing I say about Daredevil), but I think it got *too* serialized. The early episodes had the interplay between hero and lawyer, but by the end the latter part only got lip service, and the serial plot simply did not fill in the gaps.
 
Though honestly a cable network and a shorter episode order would do soooo much better for arrow's quality

Flash can keep it's lighter vibe, but that would also do better with a shorter ep. order, and without the CW requirement of playing some cheesy top 40 songs during conversations

Edit; yeah the plot in daredevil tapped out by episode 9, hopefully they make the supporting cast more interesting in S2 and we get more court stuff as well
 
Yesterday's episode was quite fun... Just got weighed down by Iris. And them bees....why couldn't Flash outrun them? At least Ray didn't get the miniaturization tech from Cisco. He need to put some work in on the bee to get his own shrinking device.

Ray already has nanomachines so he shouldn't even need the robotic bee he had to develop smaller tech.
 
It was an OK episode, decent but not great.

I also really think the writers are going way to far with Felicity's puns/double entendres, its almost every time she speaks now and they are getting increasing over the top. It was cute/funny at the start or when they weren't all that regular, now its getting a bit annoying and i find myself rolling my eyes after then now instead of laughing at them.

I do however think Felicity and Ray make a great couple and really work/look good together, hopefully the writers on Arrow don't split them up to quickly (though i recon they will).
 
Something Flash related and interesting happened on Arrow tonight.

Atom fought and beat a metahuman (Deathbolt) in Starling City. When Cisco and Ray were locking him up in the pipeline Cisco said he was in Opal City when the particle accelerator exploded. So, somehow he became metahuman in a different way.

It might be premature to say but, called it. Or more specifically
what I expected was that metahumans emerging was something that was always going to naturally happen and the particle accelerator explosion just accelerated (heh) it with certain ones.

In the New 52, Cisco's body is altered, allowing him to not only create seismic vibrations but also to be able to sense beings from other dimensions, and his constant vibration keeps him from being captured by cameras. He can also see and even walk into other dimensions/worlds in the multiverse. Amanda Waller picked him to be a member in the JLA in case they one day needed to use him against Flash. Vibe's powers can cut off the extra-dimensional Speed Force, rendering The Flash power-less.

Fun episode, the beginning cracked me up when he disarmed 2 thugs without them being aware but is stopped in his tracks for some reason vs Captain Cold and his gun
 
they dropped a (kind of big) bomb in today's Arrow. Spoilering just in case someone might not have watched it.

The villain in tonight's episode was a metahuman. Except he was in Starling City the night of the accelerator exploding.

I agree. I don't blame her, but people don't see it from her perspective (The man she loves has changed quite noticeably and is keeping her in the dark, as well as everybody else; people generally don't respond well when everybody else is keeping a secret from them). Her response is real. Perhaps too real. I've noticed that people dislike it when characters react how humans really would rather than characters who should be spouting memes left and right. Personally, it'd bother me more if she, someone who's been shown to be inquisitive, just shrug it off, because that would be out of character.

Correction:
He was in Opal City, a reference to both Star Man and Elongated Man. Elongated Man being another character the Flash has named dropped before.

That was a great episode, miles above any episode Daredevil offered after the first three-four. The biggest problem is the fact they underused the Bug-Eyed Bandit. They got a big name, but they did so little with her. The focus was really on The ATOM who I like very much despite the overplayed Superman joke, and the Reverse Flash plot which is coming together nicely. Cisco was killing it again.

Iris was just stupid with the secrecy. Eddie is a cop, he is basically working with an undercover agent and she is pissed he doesn't tell her. He should tear a new one for just suggesting he betray that. Or heck, just tell her you're working with The Flash, she doesn't need to know its Barry. But maybe that is not Iris, it is Eddie. Iris makes sense. Her boyfriend is behaving very differently. He doesn't even bother telling her something at work is bothering him but he can't talk about it.
 
How come in the start of this episode you see Barry using his super speed to take the guns of those two random robbers away leaving them confused and surprised but yet he doesn't do that a few episodes back when he was fighting Captain Cold and Heatwave in the street?

He even calls them out on the fact they have seemingly never heard of him. Also, they're not using weapons that could kill him.
