you mean the GAF password or the password for my specific loran dungeon?

Assuming the GAF password, cause I'mma try doing the quicksearch to drop-in your layer instead of having to use your glyph code and beat the first boss.
(to Ring my bell in the same area.)

Also, I noticed loading up the game from Off console eats up 5 of my Blood Vials. (I have a +5 rune over default so my max total is 25)

Yeah, it's GAF's password. I just used my Beckoning Bell in front of the campfire in Layer 2.

Finally killed R
om. What is happening with the story? Am I still in Yharnam? Am I under the lake? On the moon? Are the giant spiders the overlords of the beast villagers or something?

So glad to have that boss behind me. I'm also curious, how far am I? Half? Over?

You still coming? I can take the network password off

Yeah, been trying, Imma let it sit for 5 more minutes or so, otherwise you'd probably be better off goin at it/findin another dood.

Y
ou can cheese the fight by throwing poison knives at him from the balcony.

As of Gerhman's line I absolutely love it.
As of Micolash boss fight , no you don't have to chase him for 20 min. After you take half his health, he disappears and you have to find him (go up). Once you have found him, let him run but stay close to him. He will enter an area where he locks the door and you have to find another to get him. Once you get to him he is trapped in that room.

Thanks. I hit him to around 30% hp during the first part, but then he would always run the same route to the same mirror, and not lock himself in a room.

I ended up killing him with 8 molotovs from the balcony, after I couldn't catch him on foot...

He kept returning to the area below the balcony.

What. the. fuck. is. happening.

I'm fighting the hunter on the
bridge in the Nightmare of Mensis.

I'm kicking his ass and
twice as this guy is about to go down, I die instantly. There is no gauge that I saw, there was no Frenzy prompt, I'm just dead.
I have no idea what is going on.

I got the fucker.

I still don't know what killed me those two times, but I don't care. Shortcut open.

Now I need to figure out what to do about the
rapid poison.

The amygdalas that grab you inflicting frenzy, they also give you one insight every time they grab you.
but they also do damage, don't they?
so farming that way could become expensive.
Chalice Rom minions
drop them... Though there's probably a better farming method.

Yeah just do the first chalic dungeon which are easy and you get insight for killing bosses as well.
no mobs in the maingame, that drop mad man's knowledge?
like rats dropped humanity?

So why is Cainhurst moon still white after you do Rom?

My guess is that Yharnam is getting warped by the presence of the Great Ones. Different planes are mixing together.

Cainhurst, in contrast, is far enough away from Yharnam that it's still safe from this astral warping.

Theory

The Great Ones want nothing to do with Cainhurst. While the Great Ones are totally willing to impregnate random citizens in Yharnam without their consent, Annalise can't get pregnant even when she tries. It might be because her vile blood makes her an unsuitable host. Whatever's the reason, the Great Ones seem to be avoiding Cainhurst. There are no statues of them, no servants of them, and no sign of the Moon Presence. Annalise is scaring them off somehow with her mere presence.

I just started the game and liking it a lot. I'm at, what I assume is, the usual wall with Father
gascoigne
though.

His fight is great, but when he transforms it all falls apart. I have him, but I could benefit from grinding to refill my health and bullets though. It seems like this game stopped giving them to me though drops and I'm finding almost nothing on my way to the fight now. Any good areas to gain souls (or whatever they're called in here)? I could benefit from upgrading my weapons and maybe leveling up once or twice.

I like being STRONG and I will miss my trusty Kirkhammer, but that
Burial Blade
and that
Chikage
and that
Blade of Mercy
are calling to me.

Don't underestimate the Cane either. Ridiculously good at staggering enemies and the long range of the whip makes certain foes like the
snakes in Forbidden Woods
easy prey.

Man I'm getting killed a lot hahah. Really gotta learn to dodge properly and remember to heal. I like the game but so far I'm kinda unclear on what to do, just wandering around the town killing crazy people and werewolves and stuff.

I feel like I may have to buy this when I have the money though.

Didn't have much time to play so I only just beat the Blood Starved Beast. Wasn't there supposed to be a chalice in Old Yharnam? Did I miss anything? Now it's back to the cathedral and taking the elevator up?

There was an altar in BSB's arena (towards the back), did you not pick up the chalice that was on it?

update-

I did 9 Upper Cathedral Runs with 150 Discovery, and 300 Discovery each.

9 runs w/ 150 Discovery- 0 blood chunks
9 runs w/ 300 Discovery- 8 blood chunks

in case it actually matters- I had 64 insight.

So there ya have it. Put on your Eye runes if you want chunks.

I feel like I play this game really slow. Basically got to but 5ish hours in tonight and I cleared
Upper Cathedral Ward with both bosses. I had heard horror stories about Daughter of the Cosmos but she wasn't as bad as I expected. Only took about 4-5 tries and she was done. Super cool boss design though and a good battle. Had a bit of a rush when she dropped.
I'll probably wrap up my first play through this weekend. I plan on farming a bunch just so I can snatch up all the armor and what not before moving on.

I feel like From really hit it out of the park on this one. Minor personal nitpicks aside, it's competing for my favorite "souls" entry.

I would say that is halfway point. Little bit over maybe.

But there is a decent amount of kin cold blood

Let's talk about Insight.

Do I *really* need it? I'm at 65 atm. Pure Skill build, don't use Arcane or Bloodtinge weapons/stuff.
I have ton of madman's knowledge ready (~40) and I could really use it to buy Bolt Paper and other stuff from the upper Messengers.
I know its a huge issue regarding to Frenzy (one more benefit to actually spending them), but is there any other benefit to it other than seeing
Amygdalas (anything else?)
Item discovery?
Anything else in particular?

Oh, I'm at E
brietas so I'm really close to the very end.

Does anyone want to some chalice with me tonight? Currently layer 3 in the 3rd chalice (lower, I think) and need to do that + the rest for the plat.

I'm L90, looking either for someone that feels like helping or for a 'back and forth' as we both make our way through.

Is there a trick to the
huge silver fire breathing scorpions that are in packs in the chalice dungeons?
. For some reason I'm finding them harder than most bosses and it's driving me crazy.
