The reveal sounds so awkward and poorly written, especially with the use of "full gay".
No half measures.

But then, given the context, wouldn't present day Iceman also be gay? I mean, is Bobby discovering he's gay a product of the time travel stuff? Or maybe when he gets back to his time, he gets mind wiped so present day Bobby never experiments?
I have so many questions...
so it's the exact same iceman (same planet, etc.) just brought into the present?
yeah, I can see a lot of people in the LGBT community taking issue with the fact he is gay but the other, older iceman is not... how do they explain that?
why cant a character just be gay or straight in a comic rather than unveil it. this sounds like announcing something for the sake of announcing and saying hey we do this too.
it's like they tried to take 1 step forward but instead fell 5 steps back.
No half measures.
Kitty belongs with Colossus anyway.
Damn it Bendis. I think you've written some of the best comics ever but that page of dialogue was not great.
"Maybe I'm bi"
"They say everybody is"
Is being bisexual not a "real" sexuality or something?

all the time-travel stuff in current X-Men seems like a FUCKING NIGHTMARE

I always suspected as much but now BMB is making it official. Good, I say. Even though I wouldn't say Iceman is "A" list status, he is an old character created in the '60s.
Now, let's hope this sticks after Secret Wars.
Marvel hasn't announced anything, for what it's worth. This is a story today because someone with access to an advance copy decided to scan said copy and post it on the internet to cause commotion, and CBR's article is commenting on that. Marvel hasn't said anything in response to it, and my guess is that they were going to wait until the issue was out and the news sites came to them for comment before doing so. This isn't marketing; this is someone at the retail and/or distribution level leaking a comic before it's on shelves.Announcing basic character traits like this for marketing purposes is really dumb and not classy. And as said above, it's ironic to the point of being silly: not only does Marvel already have openly gay characters, the X-Men have already long functioned as a metaphor for prejudice against all sorts of minorities.
This is like, the definition of a non-interesting plot development.
I think she's addressing that it's often said that most people sit somewhere on a spectrum rather than being 100% on either side, gay or straight.

Isn't she with starlord now?
Isn't Iceman one of the few Omega class Mutants?
Did they ever explore that. Seems like he never hit his full potential.
"Full gay"
LOL, Bendis and his naturalistic dialogue.

It is. Hopefully Secret Wars stops this time travel crap forever.
Isn't adult Iceman with Firestar?
I dislike that they have to "unveil" a gay character. There is always a spectacle around the reveal for marketing purposes and then the gay character is put back on the shelf while the major characters continue as normal.
Age of character created doesn't mean shit lol. Iceman for comic readers is still iconic. He's also one of the only Omega Level mutants. Did you read Wolverine and the X-men?
The reveal could have been handled better... but this is still great for his character. Iceman has always had really cool powers but as an actual character could have been a lot stronger. This gives them something to work with to help differentiate him. I love it!
Several times, last time he damn near killed Thor
Apparently it's Iceman from the past who is gay, not present time Iceman.
Ok
