What does Ultron's final form look like?
The one on the left.

So any mention of Spider-man in this? My coworker saw it last night and when I asked if there is any of Spidey he just says "You won't be disappointed"

...damn tease

The fuck? There's no Spider-Man in this. What is your friend talking about? Is your friend known for teasing you? I haven't seen the movie, but everyone I've talked to about it that actually has has stated there is absolutely no Spidey.

I'll spoiler tag my post in case anyone wanders in accidentally. Massive spoilers:

Goddamn at the Vision reveal. He is powered by the mind gem that is revealed to be in Loki's Sceptre the whole time and Thor's Lightning. But seriously when he wakes up, it's handled so beautifully. And when he just lifts up Mjolnir the whole theatre laughed out loud. Can't wait for more Vision in the future.

It is a shame that so much was cut from the film though, or so much was left in. It just rushes through so many plot points. Thor wants to find out what was behind his Vision Wanda gave him. Thor goes to Selvig and then the next scene out of nowhere they are at a vision pool. And there are quite a few moments like that. But for all it's failing it also nails a lot of things

One thing I don't like about the movie is that how it somehow disregards Tony Stark's development in Iron Man 3. He didn't even have a proper closure in the end.

Clint was really good in this one, I think he became the audience favorite in my show.

Mid credits scene is disappointing. We know Thanos, we know there will be a movie about stones.

Yeah, Clint was really good. And regarding the mid credits scene, it was weird. I mean Thanos says something along the lines of "then I'll do it myself". So has he created part of the Ultron AI? I like that they still kept it open for Pym to be involved. When they get back to Avengers Tower and Tony analyses the sceptre he immediately says to Banner "it's Ultron" and Banner goes something like "But that was history". It could very well be an old program designed by Pym that could now work because of the AI found in the sceptre.

they kill off
quicksilver
? meh why? gotta kill someone in the movies for drama I guess. oh well

so whos the "new team" at the end? I assume it includes
wanda and vision

I really enjoyed quicksilver, shame to see him go, and after he dies it is handled a bit clumsy.

The new team:

Captain America
Black Widow
War Machine
Vision
Scarlett Witch
Falcon

In regards to Quicksilver, I have to wonder if they saw how good the DoFP Quicksilver was and went "well, fuck it, kill him" as they couldn't match it.

Also ATJ sucks an actor anyway, so no real loss.

match what, DOFP quicksilver was NOTHING like the comic version. I still dont udnerstand what people saw in it

i think they're just showing the fact that he is now away from sitting on his throne and making a move because all of his plans to get the stones have failed. they didn't address this in gotg so might as well show that he is now pissed

Thanos was a major character in GotG. Of course they addressed this. The Infinity Stone was the films MacGuffin.

I assumed Whedon thought you couldn't bring in Wanda without at least acknowledging Pietro also being part of the Avengers in the comics (I had no idea he was; he seems more prominent in the world of X-Men and I've seen Wanda prominently entangle in both). DoFP Quicksilver and Fox certainly sweetened the deal to kill him off, but I feel like that was always the plan.

Seems like Scarlet Witch and Vision were always going to be permanent additions going into Avengers 2 with Quicksilver being a character development device for Wanda. I thought his name would be popular enough to not be killed though, just simply phased out doing normal human things.

Then why call him Quicksilver in the first place if it is not a proper adaption of the comic character?

It is an adaptation. It's just not true to any one iteration in the comics (of which there are probably millions).

Some comic book fans are so resistant to change when it comes to the adaptations it's unbelievable. Why would you just want to see the same plots you've read a million times regurgitated onto the screen and not something new?

Then why call him Quicksilver in the first place if it is not a proper adaption of the comic character?

A comic adapted character doesn't have to be a carbon copy of what's on paper - graphic novels and movies are different mediums and require different elements to work on both formats.

Comic Wolverine can be as short and ugly as he wants - it helps accentuate his animality and bad-assery.

Movie Wolverine is tall and handsome; tall so that it makes him seem monstrous, his handsomeness and rugged face to emphasise his bad-assery.

Quicksilver's speed is the common denominator, and is his most well known ability. There's nothing wrong with others making a different interpretation of established characters.

So I realized that Hawkeye is supposed to be away in WS and Thor to take care of his family... but my brother joked that what happened was that he made his wife pregnant during that off time lol

Why is the film not allowed to stand on its own merits? Why does it have to copy the comic exactly?

because im a fan of the comics. I dont mind small changes, the MCU movies have plenty of those. But that just wasnt Quicksilver in look, personality OR powers

Then why call him Quicksilver in the first place if it is not a proper adaption of the comic character?

What does "proper adaptation" even mean when these characters can be rewritten and reinterpreted every time a new writer comes aboard? Hell, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch aren't even Magneto's kids anymore.

I am really interested in Ant-Man now, even more than before. They really end the film on a positive note, even Tony and Steve are pretty much on good terms. Things really have to go to shit in Ant-Man for the world to call for a registration-like act if it didn't happen in this film.

or... y'know, in Civil War...

There's enough seeds for it there with what the Hulk gets up to, and the news reports on it. All it needs some Fox News type at the start of Civil War and it's all set.

You're right, that would work. Perhaps I just expected a little more uncertainty for the team at the end.

Just saw the movie tonight. I had a pretty great time, it was a really fun watch.

It's just a shame that Ultron wasn't a bigger thread. I guess we'll have to wait for Thanos before we finally get someone that can fuck the Avengers up.

Also, the post credit scene really made me think of this lol

I liked it, but not as much as the first, though I guess that was to be expected.

Wish there was more of Ultron though, he was funny :P

Movie was good fun. More avengers basically. There's more of a story here than the first one, but a few lost threads.

But fun times I enjoyed it very much mad had a big grin most of the time.

the most important discussion in here should be how gorgeous scarlett witch is. that based olsen.

also planting the seeds for the inevitable vision witch romance

Sounds right, a big enough machine can lift Mjornir

It's funny that in a movie full of explosions and superheroes, my favorite scenes are the ones from Clint's house.

I don't think registration act (or something like that) works in today's MCU..they have to what, register 10 people?

Who is confirmed to be in Civil War, anyway? It's not going to be Avengers 2.5 isn't it.

Did they give an explanation to why the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver have powers? Seeing how they aren't mutants in the MCU.
