Thanks, numbers are surprisingly low. Probably not enough players in EU for anything other than TDM when you're playing with a full party.
 
Just reminded me how painful yet rewarding it was to get Seriously.

10,000 ranked kills when abandoned matches didn't contribute to your overall total.

That took some serious Raven Down, first to 19, Gnasher playtime.

Gears of War was the game that single handily made achievement progress tracking a thing. Gears of War 2 put it in because of all the complaints from Gears 1 and from then on most games had it. Now It's part of the achievement UI on Xbox One.

I think it was a purpose leak for when call of duty opened there preorders, the gears fans will sit there and think and hangon a second I could be playing this, this year!!!

Gears 1 had the best multiplayer of any game in the series. Period.

Gears wasn't just about the refinement of the online. It was the gameplay that was incredible. It was pure visceral enjoyment and a different type of game. Close combat and a shooter that relied on movement more than shooting. If you didn't know how to move in Gears, you were already out matched.

The idea of playlists, simple maps that were just varied enough to make it enjoyable, and the game types that didn't rely on respawns made it the best game in the series.

Gears 2 was pure shit. Such a disappointment coming from the glory that was Gears 1. It got patched and got better, but its starting point was so low that I didn't care.

Gears 3 was good. I can tell why non-gears junkies liked it and consider it the best. It was a refined experience that built on Gears 1. It changed things and became more like other shooters, but it was still Gears. But those fundamental things it changed were the same things that made Gears 1 so special. As such, it was a great game, but didn't have the same magic as the first game.

Judgment? Different. Nothing special. Was a little fun. It was a nice experimentation on the Gears formula.

All of that to say...Gears 1 remaster? As long as the MP is good (don't you dare take away playlists). I'm there and I'll go to a midnight release.

Aye! Gears one was really amazing. I remember not believing how good it looked, and played. The rest of the series was underwhelming.

Gears 2 was fantastic after it got patched. Those who didn't stick around really missed out.

I once played a game of King of the Hill on Blood Drive against a team using all retro lancers. The thing is they didn't even shoot at us. They only retro charged. I have a feeling they'd been doing that for a while because they were really good at it. My clan won the match but we each died about 20 times and it got to the point where we were terrified to hear a Cog screaming because we knew we were being charged at from somewhere.

From what I've heard you shouldn't expect that, but then again I may have only seen some of the new features,
remade cutscene(s), remade/reimagined popular map, weapon skins
that actually doesn't sound like much. I would expect something more fleshed out considering it's just GoW1, 10 years later.

If they were the only games on the platform, or just because they are on the platform in general? I don't understand if the prior because that obviously isn't the case already, let alone as time goes on. As for the latter, it doesn't make any damn sense :/

Might have to finally get an Xbox One for this.

As long as the core gameplay of the multiplayer mode remains untouched.

I don't know why people keep saying gears1 was the best playing game. the refinements in the controls makes going back to Gears1 a chore to play if you ever spent a decent amount of time with #3.

the major problems stemmed from the introduction of the retro and sawed off. two guns that Rod Fergusson pushed for. kinda makes me worried for this remaster but if he comes out and says they're history I'll feel better about a future XB1/Gears purchase.

Gears 3 beta (when people weren't exploiting the fuck out of the retro and the sawed off) was THE BEST.

Just keep it 100% the same as Gears 1 with dedicated servers and it's immediatly the best MP shooter of all time. There may be some Gears 3 refinements that would make the game a little better, but honestly I afraid to have them mess with ANYTHING.

I'm doubting UE4 and true remake.

I can see them pushing a standard remaster this time, slight bump to the textures, but nothing like the Halo Anniversary games in terms of remake.

1080/60 with that in mind shouldn't be too difficult.

They only have to use the PC Version of Gears 1... so much work already done.
