The poll isn't wrong, Ippo did win. I'd rather pay a hundred bucks for an Ippo bluray than to watch this fight.

What nobody got was a competitive fight.
Yeah. I was going for Pacmam but the the burden was on his shoulders. He needed to take Money out of his gameplan and he didn't. Clearly lost. What I'm wondering is why didn't he go all out. I was expecting him to go for it and either get ko'd or put a hurting on Money. I wasn't expecting him to be so passive most of the fight. Really disappointed.

The fight was billed "The Fight of the Century". It was boring. People are saying it's boring. Maybe you should take something like, "Hmm, maybe boxing isn't as appealing to the general population than I thought" instead of, "What did you expect?!" Boxing hasn't been main stream relevant for a while. We know of some boxer's names but their prime is long gone. We know who Mike Tyson is but I doubt most people who watched this have seen him box. People bought into the hype and were disappointed. They called it boring. Accept that.

It's like being shocked young people don't know much about baseball even though the sport has a median age of like 50.

*except you know, Baseball is making a ton of money and has a bright future and has compelling games. but you wouldn't know that would you?

ESPN and AP reporting Manny wasn't a 100% coming in to the fight, supposedly had a minor shoulder injury.

Talk about copping a plea, moving the goal post and tales from my ass in one statement. Anything to save face for Manny and discredit Floyd lol

These old white guys on ESPN gonna have a aneurysm if they keep moving this goal post!

I'm Filipino and my family hates me. They're all sad and dejected while I'm the only one happy. Was saying Money would win for years and they all thought I was nuts. Was rooting for Pac but the writing was on the wall.

Well I got my free comic books today and I was proven right after being laughed at for years. I ain't even mad haha.

I missed out on comics? F word.

ESPN hates the truth Hopkins is dishing out

It's pretty disgusting.

B-Hop the only one that can just admit that Floyd was the better, smarter fighter.

This match, and the reactions following it, kinda remind me of that Alabama-LSU game that ended 9-6 a few years back. Boring? Maybe. Competitive? Most definitely.

No one likes defense though.

Most are casuals, no big deal. Sorry folks had to get marketed and manipulated so heavily. This was a Mayweather fight and anybody who was objective and not filled with hate knows what's up. It's also fairly easy to match up fighters to get exciting fights so I'm not worried about the future of Boxing.

Canelo/Kirkland next week is one of those fights that's matched up for action. Somebody is getting KO'd in that fight or they will beat their heads in, though nothing is guaranteed. One can hope somebody like Deontay Wilder would start dominating the heavyweight division knocking boxer's out, there's always upcoming talent to market.

Pacman can miss me with his excuses for losing.

Ultimately, the journey to this fight over the last 5-6 years was more entertaining than the fight itself. I'm a definite casual who has only watched Pacquiao or Mayweather fights over the last five years, and I've mostly enjoyed what I've seen. But I'm probably done with the sport now. Good boxing is entertaining, yes, but I'm just not that interested without the personalities and the drama. And now it feels like the only storyline I cared about in boxing has concluded. It was a good run.

I wonder how the last 5 years would have played out for both fighters if they had fought in 2010. That might have been both my first and last boxing match.

But not highly marketable.

UFC blew up with star power. Now their biggest active star is better utilized by WWE (along with their former shooting star, who was only that because of his previous WWE days).

Disagree with Ronda being better utilized by WWE (I'm assuming that's who you're referring to there) because, let's face it, WWE is a shell of what it was in the 90's in terms of.. well.. everything. And Brock shouldn't even be mentioned outside of pure money talks because he is what he always was.. a gimmick draw. Don't confuse this with a gimmick talent.. his wrestling was legitimate but his draw was all about the pre and post show.. similar to Chael.

I don't think we'll get really entertaining boxing again till we have multiple great heavy weights back in the game.

Not a lot of people would agree but I feel like HW wouldn't be the draw today that it was before. I think more focus and marketing should be made towards the middling weight class fighters with power. If you really look at the pattern of fights.. the back and forth wars in boxing have been in the middle and lighter weights more recently rather than in the heavier weights. That's the stuff that draws casuals. Wars.

Who is really watching lightweights fight tho.

The biggest fighter now besides Rhousey is Rumble, and he's not really that big at all.

You realize Lightweights in MMA are 10lbs heavier than what we saw tonight though right? Lightweight and Middleweight (155 and 185 respectively) are the sweet spot for MMA. Though 145 has it's moments as well.

This is so embarrassing, such bad excuses are for sore losers. Would have been best to have stayed quiet and accept the loss.

Back and forth's come in to it, but I think more than that people just want to see violence, aggression and most of all, knock outs.
