Harriet Harman not really sounding like Labour have any information they're in for a better night.

She avoided the question completely about her info

Bad times for Labour methinks

I'm legitimately feeling ill right now. I can't believe that I live in a country so callous, so eager to preserve a way of life for the rich on a "Just in case we end up there" basis. I feel so much worse than I did last election, because we've seen just how bad the Tories are when they're in power, and we may have voted them in twice in a row.

Welcome to lil' US.

Lab + SNP is still less than the Cons though. England did this, not the Scots.

EDIT: Paddy promises to eat his hat if they have 10 seats.

If the Scots vote "anti English" then the English know which party to vote for to get back at the Scots. There is a reason why the Tories have seen the SNP as a gift handed to them on a silver platter this election.

I don't want to believe the BBC exit poll, so that will colour the following analysis.

For the BBC exit poll to be right:

  • The Lib Dems need to have collapsed against the Tories in a totally unprecedented way.
  • The SNP need to have gained seats in a totally unprecedented way, even beyond any predictions, and indeed beyond Nicola Sturgeon's belief.
  • Labour need to have done worse than predicted, nationwide, against not just the Tories, Not just the Lib Dems, but also Plaid, and the Greens, and the SNP.

Every single factor needs to have swung, in such an unlikely way, that, well:
Election Forecast UK said:
In our simulations, we had a 1.3% chance of Con at 316 or more, 4.8% chance of Lab at 239 or lower. Definitely a surprise!

Or the polls were fucked all along, in which case... fuck.

I don't understand the tory hate, there's some shit admittedly, but that applies to all parties.

I'd take them over Ed Ball's having any financial responsibility over this nation

And think of it this way, it could have been tory /UKIP

Approx 40,000 used food banks in 2010. 500.000 in 2015. Just one of the many reasons for the Tory hate

I kind of feel like SNP will be the new Lib Dems, aka the party that can make wild promises on the basis that they won't get a majority.

Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The Lib Dems were the only voice in parliament against things like the Iraq war, for example, a role that has been unfilled since they went into coalition.

How so?

it doesn't seem to surprising to me in that they betrayed all those new voters who were swooned last election, and have lost a lot of ground in Scotland.

I am going by some of the polling breakdowns. It had the libs still strong in certain areas, yet collapsing elsewhere. Looked like they were going to hold more than half. If the exits are true though, just wow

I don't see why exit polls are given any credibility. Surely they aren't representative of all voters in any way.

Still it's been a great "result" for news outlets now as they've got lots to talk about.

There's no way that exit poll is correct, surely? Every Tory MP must be jumping for joy.

I don't think I'll be staying up for this :/

They were pretty accurate in 2010 IIRC, don't ask me how though.

It's bad, but it could be worse.
And consider, the one million figure which was wrong was thrown around for a long time.. Neither party has it right, there needs to be a balance.

I think your a bit off (your almost right when using just children).

http://www.trusselltrust.org/stats
In 2011/12 128,697 people total (46,018 children) had to use foodbanks, this increased to 1,084,604 total (396,997 children) in 2014/15.

That's one hell of a messed up statistic, its sickening that this is allowed to happen and how its largely ignored..

Try being poor whilst the Tories are in power, then you understand why people think they're utter cunts.

Try working in any kind of civil service, or having to rely on the civil service. In the past five years the civil service has been decimated by cuts. Cuts which the country didn't need. Cuts in the place of spending which has been repeatedly proven by economists to be the only way to fix the fucking economy.

So please, if you don't understand the Tory hate, feel thankful that you're privileged enough to not be the target of their ire.

It could indeed be worse. And if those exit polls are accurate we're about to learn just how much worse it can get.

Roll on Indieref 2.0.

You mean original U.S.

The Brits have the "respecting their betters" thing down better than anyone.

... Yeah, sorry, my mistake. I sometimes forget that we've been doing it for hundreds of years longer. Hrgh.

People actually expect the same old shit to change things... For the better? I'm sorry, but if the exit polls are true (likely), then fuck you, England. The facts were in front of your faces, and you disregarded them, likely in fear of a non-existent 'threat' from evil Scottish monsters.

Fuck political correctness, you're all inbred fucks who made the wrong, selfish decision, whether you know it or not.

Just to confirm when will we know the finals?
