WTF?

How is it possible that every other poll was wrong until this point?

Unless there has been a swing from the UKIP to Tory in the vote share, which wouldn't have an impact on their seats?

OR LibDem have gone Tory?

Can this really be correct?
It's far from certain, but it takes into account actual voting rather than planned voting. Some people change their minds.

It could be very wrong though, even a few seats could change everything.

from the Guardian live blog thing

A senior Lib Dem source in Nick Clegg’s camp said:

Our initial thoughts on the exit poll are that it doesn’t match any of our internal intelligence and we find it quite extraordinary that not a single bit of evidence has pointed to this so far. Labour losses and Tory gains seem extraordinary. For the SNP to take all but one seat in Scotland would also be extraordinary. We are going to take a loss we’ve always known that and it’s not going to be an easy night but we think 10 is right at bottom end of our expectations.

Wow...is there anyone here supporting the tories except me?!

Not really. No. They're useless lying shitbags who've made the country worse and have made steps to selling off the NHS. Another 5 years of them in power and we're going to see a working class living in practically third world conditions.

If Clegg loses his seats and the Lib Dems don't have a leader how are they gonna carry out coalition negotiations?

Also looking at the number did the LDs basically lose most of their seats to the Tories?! I thought their voters would be more...well, liberal

All this running seems absolutely stupid, just count the damn votes, make it accurate, job done.

Pretty disappointed if this is accurate.

Probably going to join Labour. Scared to see where the country is going to end up if this government carries on. Really doubt the union will survive.

Hope the Greens taking Bristol West is accurate.

The hypocrisy from these exit polls is that a Conservative/Lib Dem coalition would be exactly 326 seats (the number required to win a majority government)

That BBC exit poll has some interesting results. Practically there's no reason for Scotland to be part of UK, other than the fear of the future. Tory, Lib-Dem and UKIP seems to share the same electorate with different levels of acceptance regarding who they are. Funny if this turns out to be close to reality.

If the polls are true I say unto you fellow northerners: let us succeed the from the southern butchers, and join the wildlings north of the wall. We need a King in the North!

The Welsh Marches know the one true King; the King in the North!

Those exit polls can't be real. Holy fuck that is devastating.

How can Labour lose so much? Lib Dems on 10!! Unreal...

I can't watch the BBC live coverage online if I don't have a TV license, right?

Because of this, someone care to brake down the results for me so far? Any shocks? I can see a few surprised reactions in this thread right now, what's that about?

If the first exit poll is right the UK is fucked, or at best stunted for a while longer.

The fear factor provided by Murdoch and friends will have had some impact. Wow.

The same happened last time. The opinion polls suggested the Lib Dems were riding high (for them) and going to pick up a decent haul, then the exit poll came out and it was a shock to everyone - it didn't reflect the opinion polls at all.

This is a good concise article on them. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2015-32428768

With the amount of food banks I'd say those times are already upon us.

I have literally no idea how that could be true unless the pollsters were horrifically wrong. It's the equivalent of a national poll showing 37/29; absolutely totally and entirely outside the bounds of any pollster.

Indeed. We're going to learn a lot about polling tonight.

The Tories claim their internal polling has them on 302. I really can't see them doing better than their polling.

If the Lib Dems are down to ten seats there's no way Clegg has survived.
