The funniest damn thing in all this was the ESPN piece about it...The music was so dramatic...you'd have thought that Brady had either been killed or he had run over several dogs/children/nuns.

Hilarious.

I feel sorry for all the people in the city of N... Sorry, the county of New.... Wait the STATE of... Oh still not right, the vaguely defined multistate broadcast rights defined east coast region of scrod and cognitive dissonance.

If you're found to be cheating in college football you vacate wins and I see no reason why it shouldn't be the same in the NFL. Regardless of team if you cheat to get ahead you shouldn't be allowed to keep the results of your cheating after investigation proves your misdeeds.

Where do you draw the line though? Multiple teams have been found cheating one way or another whether its the organization or individual players. If you vacate wins already in the past you gotta keep doing. Pretty sure the league will look silly when half their championships have asterisks.

The site is admittedly biased in their tone, but they do back up their facts when they can.

Good. Let Kraft and Co. bitch and moan as loudly as possible. Let everyone see their arrogance and privilege on full display. Let them continue to validate the dislike of an entire country outside the confines of New England.

When Belicheat slinks back to whatever nether region spawned him, and Brady returns to Uggs modeling full-time, when the New England Patriots reaffirm their rightful place in the halls of franchise irrelevance, all that will remain is a legacy of douchebaggery and cheating.

A legacy of collective A-Rod's: pining to be loved, to be liked, to be something important. The Patriot Way, indeed.

hahaha

Vaguely defined? My friend, let me wikipedia you:

New England is the only one of the United States Census Bureau's nine regional divisions whose name does not derive from its geography, and it is the only multi-state region with clear, consistent boundaries.

You just got garoppolo'd.

Everyone cheats. Everyone is on PEDs. All teams are shady. No one cares. I don't even see why this is a big deal.

I have no issues with NFLers being on PEDs honestly. They mostly use for recovery anyway as they are genetic freaks.

They also put their bodies through hell and the risk of brain damage. They can take as much PEDs they want to IMO.

I don't use the word 'hero' lightly, but Eli Manning is the greatest hero in American history.

From a perspective of someone that knows jackshit about american football, this seems to be such a ridiculous, stupid, irrelevant and overreacted drama.

But sincerely, is this deflating-balls issue really that grave/game-changing?

New York radio station WFAN and most callers are saying this punishment was way too harsh.

OMG.

edit. The midday guys are big jets homers, so take everything they say tongue in cheek. As for the punishment, fine is negligible, draft picks don't matter when the Pats trade down every year, and Pats have the easiest schedule this year. The mornigh show guys, Boomer wanted a punishment, and Carton couldn't care less.

Well, just think about a sport that you do know jackshit about. Now imagine it is one of the most popular sports out there. Now imagine that the star player on the team that won the championship blatantly cheated the rules and deliberately lied about in public.

It really isn't, the punishment was more about them not complying with the report (not giving up texts, not making the one employee available for a second interview) more than the actual crime.

Its not a big deal but this punishment is more for how Tom Brandy acted during the investigation not cooperating and being forthright. The rest is due to the teams history. Plus if you get caught on PEDs you get a 4 game ban for a first offence. Trying to deflate balls is trying to get a competitive edge same as a PEDs so he got the same ban. NFL logic not mine. To me this is the NFLs ego saying no one is bigger then the NFL and is above our rules and supposed image especially after how bad they looked last year after Ray Rice.

If I was Tom Brady, no fucking way I would hand over my cellphone.

I'm a celebrity, my wife is a celebrity, both mothers of my children are celebrities - and you have no idea who these "independent investigators" are.

Tom Brady’s stats in the 2014-15 playoffs:

Likely deflated balls:
Vs. Baltimore: 33/50, 3 TDs, 1 INT, 367 yards (twice came back from 14 points down)
1st Half vs. Colts: 11/21, 1 TD, 1 INT, 92 yards (17-7 at half, Indy played better but missed FGs, muffed punts)

Properly inflated balls:
2nd Half vs. Colts: 13/15, 2 TD, 0 INT, 131 yards (became a 45-7 route, 4th quarter Pats ran clock)
Vs. Seattle: 37/50, 4 TD, 2 INT, 328 yards (10 point come back in 4th quarter amidst a massive choke from Seattle)

Cheating: 44/71, 4 TDs, 2 INTs, 484 yards 89.17 QB Rating
Not Cheating: 50/65, 6 TDs, 2 INTs, 459 yards 113.56 QB Rating

New Orleans did not bitch this much when they lost Sean Payton for a whole fucking year, and he didn't even know what was going on under his nose.

Just imagine will Tom and Bill are finally gone, I suspect most of you will be wrecks.

New Orleans was caught dead to rights. There was nothing to dispute.

Regardless of the outcome, intentionally violating a standing rule is a problem, and has a defined term. Cheating.

If I was a basketball player and for some reason thought that rigging my own shot clock to count down twice as fast gave me an advantage, I would still be cheating.

A cheating Brady (89.17) is closer to Tim Tebow (75.30) than legit Tom (113.59).

Oh and I don't give a fuck about the punishment. Brady likely cheated, deserves punishment if he did, and Goodell is once again mismanaging the situation and has been since before the AFC championship game.

I don't know why Patriots fans are even complaining. So they lose some system quarterback for a few weeks, who cares? Can't they just plug in Matt Cassel, he was just as good.

But that was a whole year, for something the coach did not know was going on.

This is something that happened, and your QB was aware of it.

NO also weren't repeat offenders of cheating.

They had definitive evidence in the case of NO though. And for something far worse.

They had enough evidence to say they probably did something here, but not enough to be definitive. If they had Brady probably would be home a year.

So what happens when Jimmy G goes 4-0 and puts up better numbers than Tom in any of his 4 game stretches?

lmao

Brady wasn't going to be suspended for a year no matter what
