Koji Igarashi Kickstarts Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (2.5D, backdash, 2018)

Gotcha. I'm actually higher than that tier but I want to get multiple physical copies. I guess I'll try asking about them about it, with all the current platforms I'm sure I'm not the only one in this boat, and I'm sure that will help it fund at least somewhat higher as well.
If they have a BackerKit after the Kickstarter ends [which they should...hopefully...], you should be able to add-on more physical copies for a set amount. That's how a few of the Kickstarters I've supported in the past worked, but I'm not sure if Bloodstained will be the same way.

Wait there's going to be a WiiU version? Unlike the PS4, I do plan on buying WiiU soon, but will they make a Japanese Physical version ?

The WiiU is region locked. :/

That or I just go for PS4. :/

It absolutely seems like something they will add if you inquire. I know, especially with the Vita and Wii U goals now, more people will be interested in multiple physical copies.

The 1st Editions from Kickstarter have exclusive content.

I'll ask about it. And yeah it's the backer exclusive stuff mainly although I would also like to support the project a bit more if I can find reasons to.

They've said this is not the case in IGA's AMA although a lot of people seem to think he might be mistaken. Despite it being his project I kind of doubt he's the most knowledge person about the Kick starter aspect of it.

In the comment section of the campaign, someone mentioned BackerKit and several other concepts similar in nature and Ben Judd stated he would have to discuss it with the team over the coming days as the approach was to basically have it completely end once the campaign was finished.

So yeah, it seems they're aware of the options, however, they haven't come to a decision as to whether or not they want to keep allowing pledge modifications or what-have-you after the fact.

Here's the quote for reference:

We have seen your comments (and know this is important to you) so we are talking about it internally. There are actually plenty of campaigns that don't do add-ons for a wide variety of reasons and as I mentioned, this campaign was built without them so it will indeed require a of rebuilding the page, rewards, and managing merchandise. It will be hard work no doubt. As far as keeping the campaign open. We also need to discuss that. Currently, the focus is on the campaign being 33 days and once it's over, it's over. I saw you have backed a lot of projects. I really appreciate that. Very impressive to see you be so giving. Give us some time to talk please.

Thanks, I'm still going to remain hopeful. I'd love to pledge higher than I am [$100], but I don't have the disposable income right now. If I could "upgrade" my pledge after the Kickstarter ends, that would be preferable.

I guess we'll see!

hmm have gaming laptops come to a point where they offer top level PC gaming experience?
is yours a portable laptop or those desktop replacement kinda laptops?

17inch G750JM ROG
GTX 860M
I7 4700HQ
already did a test to see if i could run Witcher 3 and it passed on Medium(which still looks amazing)
im buying it Monday alongside some other Steam games like Pillars of Eternity and preordering DMC4SE
so desktop replacement i guess according to the reviews i read before i bought it
by some magic im able to fit it in my previous laptops case as well

i probably won't have a ps4 or xbox one in 2017. so, looking forward to the wii u port for now. also interested in a vita port, as all of my experiences with igavanias have been on handheld.

but if nx is backwards compatible with wii u, i guess i should get a handheld version of this anyway.

So, I wonder:

Let's assume the 3.75m goal IS a fully orchestrated soundtrack, which I think we can speculate with some confidence that it may be. Do you think that's the final "dungeon" stretch goal?

The final goal, unlocked with 50 achievements and the pyrite coin, is possibly the 4m goal. But what could it be? What could possibly be missing once we've unlocked all this content and material? What is so far ahead in the funding that we won't see it until we've hit the very end? What is that big, final, secret?

Because at this point I simply cannot come up with another goal behind the live soundtrack. They've added everything. There is something for everyone. What's left? Variations on online coop? IGA did say that was expensive in the AMA.

I wonder.

Synchronous Online multiplayer is the only option. i.e. Online co-op. Unless it's something out of the blue like Confirmed sequel.

I'm certain we'll be hitting $4million which should be the last stretch goal.

Someone in the comments said that the icon for the new mystery stretch goal looks a bit like the top of a treble clef.

Orchestral soundtrack, anyone?

It is. Image enhanced it and it looks like the treble clef.

Honestly I don't think it'll hit even $3.5mil, but got damn I want a Vita version. I greatly, greatly prefer playing Castlevania on a handheld.

ps1 version in a double-disc style case.

Gonna wait and see if Vita gets a retail release before I commit.
I might get the Wii U game if it doesn't look like it, but would definitely prefer the former.

I wouldn't mind buying the Vita version in a flash sale for 5 dollars in the future.

Before anyone jumps at me, I'm buying the retail PS4 version.

LOL at people who think this won't reach the Vita goal. First Kickstarter they've followed I guess?

Animated cutscenes?

So I was checking Bloodstained's Facebook page to see how many short we were from the 20,000 likes achievement (turns out not many) and upon checking I couldn't help but notice this and smile:

EDIT2: because I'm and ass who can't make this work: http://twitter.com/Alex_RN/status/604895674715373568/photo/1

Is it just me? Or does everyone see Mexico City as the most popular city? I was surprised and a little proud :)

PS: I'm in Mexico but not in Mexico City, for what it's worth.

EDIT: I'm on mobile and for the life of me I can't make that picture display correctly. If you click the empty square it still takes you to what I wanted to show!

At the very least, I'll be remote playing it. I want it in my hands. MY HANDS!

I'll be curious to see how much it levels off or if the upward trend continues. Seems like they've got a good battle plan to extend it.

There should be a big push in the last couple of days. Mighty No. 9 made more money in its final 24 hours than any other single day in its entire campaign.

I have the feeling they will add a goal at the obscene (yet achievable) amount of 4.5 million for 4 Harmony of Despair style online co-op maps.

Oh would you look at that, people do not bitch at all that a Vita port has been revealed as a stretch goal, but the Wii U bitching group seems to be extremely vocal despite the fact that a Vita version would produce just as much work as a Wii U version would.

There is really nothing I can do but shake my head at these weird bitching/praising principles.

EDIT: This is not me saying that I would find a Vita port to be a stupid choice, quite the opposite. The more people get to play this game the better.
This is just me shaking my head in disbelieve at certain people.

Is this your first rodeo? Even without a campaign-end spike, just the current ~$50,000 per day will get this over $3.5m. It's more likely to go over $4m than to stall out under $3.5m by a big margin.

Wait, people actually pulled their money over the Wii U port? Crazy.

Not any significant number of people, no.

This is the first Kickstarter for a game that I actually care about, yes. And I did assume that this was a very frontloaded campaign given how fast it made its way to the list of highest earning Kickstarter games. No need to be dicks about it.

Yeah it's definitely not something I'd totally write off, but I wouldn't take it as a given either. If you can tighten the belt and make it happen without negative consequences that would prolly be for the best, but if not there's still hope.

The people complaining about the WiiU version were largely complaining about the possibility of the main game being compromised due to budget/parity reasons to accommodate the port. A Vita version doesn't open up a new can if worms in this regard, it's the same argument.

Ultimately it's a matter if faith in the developers. While I personally agree with your assumption that it's unlikely to have negative repercussions for the original versions, I think it's kind of unfair for you to assert that your assumptions are more valid than the ones they've come to. On top of that this argument has been completely beaten to death, why don't we just move on?

4 million is basically a lock

I think that's a little bit of a jump but it seems very possible. I'm actually hoping it reaches around 5M but that seems far less likely.

I think in particular the awareness for this title is high and they've done a good job in getting the word out so I'm not sure if that will lead to a bigger end of campaign jump or a smaller one.

Well for what it's worth, I'm pretty worried about how Armature intends to port UE4 to both Wii U and Vita, but they seem intent. The fact should just be accepted that the only distinguishing graphical features separating the "power trio" versions from the other two will probably have to just be fancier shaders, some higher detail backgrounds, and maybe higher polygon models for main characters and bosses.

I don't mind much, Inti Creates making a technical marvel was unlikely to begin with. Thankfully it looks like this game will have good art direction, at least better than MN9 in my opinion (sorry), and art direction is what matters most in this regard. If the game ends up looking even just a little worse than Nintendo's top level first party Wii U game's, with 720p/30fpa on Wii U and appropriate resolution and frame rate everywhere else (unlimited on PC, standard 1080p/60fps on the twins, with probably 30fps and an acceptable sub native resolution on Vita) I'll be good to go. I'll still be there day one (backing helps) with the PS4 version, and no matter how dead both Wii U and Vita may be at the time, I might check those versions out depending on how they fared.

Edit:
Probably not, but the fact that it dropped sub 3 million is pretty amazing. That means at least a thousand people dropped/lowered their backing money.
Eh, are you sure that it actually said "3,000,000" when the update first came out? Because they've been accounting for the "approximately $60,000" (and growing) in PayPal donations for a while. So for example, it may have been at "2,940,000" when they decided to throw the switch on the update, and the fact that it was still below "3,000,000" may have produced the illusion that the confirmation dropped a significant amount of money, which it probably didn't.

You might be able to understand why people familiar with a subject can easily find what is obvious to them exasperating though, and I'm not sure they were being particularly out of line either. Fitting, as being unfamiliar with general Kickstarter trends isn't the same as someone going "wow all this is coming put this month!?" in the monthly boxart thread.

It didn't hit $3 million on Kickstarter alone. The total was always including Paypal pledges.

I'm starting to consider going to the physical + digital tier on this news, to have physical for a non-PC platform.

Wonder what the treble clef is?

Fully orchestrated score? That would be sweet.

The soundtrack would have three versions, just about. Well, 2.5.
