Ubisoft and EA too, but they show stuff at MS and Sony too.
But why would he want to see it at the Microsoft Press Conference, specifically?

So business as usual. People hate leaks then fear that a presenter will have nothing to show when they don't come.
Boggles the mind.
If I recall, David Jaffe said he wanted GOW II (which Barlog directed) to end with a portal opening up revealing other gods. Then in three, after he kills them all (Egyptian, Norse, etc.), it ends on a cutscene of the three wise men riding towards Bethlehem to visit a baby Jesus.
I don't know if I'd call it teasing so much as them just paying homage to their roots. Desperation from gamers is what drives the conspiracy more than anything Sony has said or done.

I don't mind the idea of switching mythology, however I think they should completely ditch Kratos and the greek mythology then. The idea that Greek Gods and Egyptian, Norse etc. exist alongside never really worked for me.
Like, how can multiple gods be responsible for the afterlife? Or responsible for the rising, setting sun?
It probably wouldn't sell worse than Ascension though.
The game Christians have all been waiting for - a AAA Jesus game.
We're gonna slaughter baby Jesus?
So edgy - sign me up!
Hmmm, pitting Kratos against Jesus Christ - that's one way to commit commercial suicide.

No. It would have ended there. Kratos' story would've been completed. But as someone pointed out, that would've been the story of GOWIII. It would have started with Kratos killing Zeus.
I agree, I think the lack of leaks are making people fear the worst.
Well, this is Sony. They leak like a saturated adult diaper. If there are no leaks, it's likely that's because there's nothing to leak.
To be fair, Street Fighter V's leak was just a mess up on the part of the uploader for the trailer. Without that happening it wasn't going to leak.
What is going on with The Witness? The creator is taking really long to complete this game, at this point I'm half expecting it to be $30 or more. :/

God I want this already. Lol.It's a 2015 game as of now. But it's also completely independent, which means that it'll release whenever Blow is ready to release it. So that date could move to 2016. They did release some new screens earlier this month

Phil Spencer has refers to first party as games he publishes including partner games they don't own (Sunset Overdrive, Alan Wake, Ryse) so when he says "1st party" - and I've seen this mentioned in a few threads, he is referring to anything they have published directly with the developer, as the best definition I've got.
When MS say they have big 1st party presence at E3, I don't think he is specifically referring to internal studios (although they will be showing stuff) and people should probably set their expectations accordingly for that.
2nd party is stuff like Dead Rising 3 (and possibly Tomb Raider) which he published from a third party. Not sure where Titanfall stands in all this, EA published it so I guess its just a briefcase of money exclusive.
My personal definition is who owns it. Microsoft own Ori and State of Decay, its on the platforms they allow because they own it and won't be on competitors platforms, so its 1st party even though Moon and Undead Labs aren't owned by MS.
2nd party, Insomniac/SO, Crytek/Ryse, MS published it but don't own the game or studio.
3rd party, where they paid a publisher for exclusivity whether its full or timed, whatever.
Right, so they can only be focused if the title is pure 1st party. Doesn't matter if they release solid IP that they own like State of Decay and Ori. Who wants those games
I'd consider any game that's funded, overseen and published by a first party publisher to be first party. So Sunset Overdrive, Ryse, Mass Effect 1, etc. are/were all first party games.
Second party is just a made up term to differentiate between internally and externally developed first party games.
Dead Rising 3 and Tomb Raider, on the other hand, are third party. Capcom and Square Enix, respectively, still own and oversaw those games, Microsoft just helped provide some funding. They're the third wheel, or a kickstarter backer who gets their name in the credits.
Truth be told, it doesn't even really bother me the 1st/2nd distinction but a lot of people like to make a point of IP ownership (although the only game I can think of that went to PS3 in the 360 era was Mass Effect because EA bought Bioware) so that was my thinking plus Phil has his own ideas and descriptors, which will directly impact how he sees announcements at E3
I think this is the first time I'm not excited about a Sony conference, which feels weird. All I'm hoping for are these things to happen at E3:
Sony
- Guerilla Games announces Horizon
- Sony re-reveals The Last Guardian

Besides TLG, I like this list. I hope we might even get a No Man's Sky beta too. Give me a Galak-Z release date and I'll be a happy man.Sony

- Release date for No Man's Sky
- New glimpses of Rime and The Witness
My biggest fear this year is that Microsoft and Sony will spend too much time talking about Hololens and Morpheus respectively. Yes, I know VR is probably going to be the next big frontier for gaming, but I am more interested in learning about what is next for the console gaming space.

Im here at Phoenix comicon and im attending a panel for Ron Perlman, somone asked him a fallout question and he hinted at reprising his roll for Fallout 4. so yeah if there was any doubt

I think Sony will leave the Morpheus talk until PSX.

Reggie will finally eat Miyamoto onstage.
This makes far more sense, especially if the device isn't intending to launch until midway through 2016.
