Fallout 4 Officially Revealed for PC, Xbox One, PS4 [Reddit Rumor = Ban]

I'm totally willing to take the slightly less than top tier graphics if that means that loading in between buildings is completely gone. IF they still have that then yeah...lol Bethesda come on.

I can appreciate good graphics as much as anyone, but honest to God, I don't find the graphics in the trailer to be underwhelming at all. My first reaction was "Wow, that looks great!"

No, the game clearly isn't the next enthusiast gaming PC benchmark, but it looks fine/good, IMO.

In fact, I think the lighting/color palette looks pretty great. The game is visually appealing, even if it's not a technical masterpiece.

I am deadly serious. The game looks like shit, anyone who says otherwise is deluded. This is coming from someone who loved Fallout 3 and NV, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim. It would have looked incredible on last gen but we have been spoiled with some truly spectular looking games this gen.

BWHAAHAHAHAHAHA!!

More then anything, I'm, concerned about the state of modding for Fallout 4. Will Bethesda try paid mods again? How has the engine been modified? Do we still create a character, or is it another nolan north/troy baker man?

I'm really surprised that people are surprised that this generations OBLIVION equivalent dosen't look too hot

Nice trailer. It's a shame I'm not a fan of the fallout atmosphere (environments), can't see myself spending dozens of hours in those.

Still more colorful than I expected, and the graphics seem decent. Great news for fans of the series, cool reveal.

Uhhhhh...

If the trailer is indicative of anything, the scope and density of the city and world size, as well as the much improved texture and lighting work over their previous efforts, probably is way too much for the 512 megs of ram on last gen.

Also worth noting, there was an interview with Todd Howard (I forget who held it, but I think maybe a German site?) and he was asked to talk about what the new consoles offered that previous gen didn't. He mentioned he couldn't go into details so as not to give away what they were working on, but that the RAM was a huge advantage allowing them to stream in building interiors as you approached them, so you could enter them without loading screens, keeping them all in one worldspace.

Looks like more Fallout which is good, but I don't exactly get a true sequel feeling based on that trailer, it looks like more of the same. Obviously I'm hoping I'm wrong, but that trailer is all we've got right now and right now I'm not impressed.

Graphics look dated but that doesn't stop a game from being great. Shall see more at E3 - we'll have a better idea on the graphics with a gameplay reel.

I thought it looked great, these complaints are nuts. Makes me wonder what would make them happy. I think the art direction looks amazing. Love the use of color in the trailer.
Yep, looks great. I suspect nothing would please some people. I'm really looking forward to it, deadly serious.

I post the shame like the other post:

The dog needs hairworks immediately,it's awful. And i don't like nothing the art style for the graphics being too colorful.I like the tone of fallout 3 not a happy colorful end of the world.

Also i'm a huge fan of fallut3/nv.

Cryengine

Lmao no. There is no engine that can do what Gamebryo can do. The same can be said for most engines. I'm not talking about how janky or pretty it is. I'm talking about what it accomplishes.

Anyways this is definitely going to be a graphics thread, because this is neoGAF

Eek, I still have to play through my copy of New Vegas.

I really enjoyed Fallout 3 but got a bit burnt out with the "wasteland" setting after finishing everything including all the DLCs. Plus Fallout 4 is looking a bit dated visually so I don't know if I want to go through Vegas and then be burnt out for Fallout 4.
Decisions, decisions......

Bethesda games have *never* been about top tier graphics. This just isn't what they do. They offer a unique experience in the scope of the game. No one else -- NO ONE else -- Has yet to have done an open world game comparable to how well Bethesda does it.

I think it looks good -- A step up from the last Bethesda game, but still familiar -- Anyone who expected anything else is crazy. I know I'm repeating myself but some of the attitudes are making me crazy.

Fans upset over witcher 3 bullshit trailer for consoles.

Fans upset over fallout real trailer for consoles.

Pick one. Jesus christ.

Geometry? Ai? weather effects? loading times?

do you people even play video games or just watch them?

Throw me in the cynic camp I guess (or the paying attention camp). Their ai will dazzle no one and I'm not seeing anything available that would suggest visuals are the reason. You're kidding yourself if you think it's load times. I was gonna put my money on huge map but who knows.

I'm a pc gamer, so I don't give a toss about the visuals. I'm more concerned about location. NV clowned 3 so hard in every category. West coast best coast and all that.

All I ask for it to run good on consoles. That's all I ask for. I'll love this game no matter what but I'll love it more if I don't have to deal with the issues that I dealt with New Vegas and 3.

People saying this looks last-gen need to go back and actually play Fallout 3/NV on a last gen system again. This is a huge improvement. Is it the best looking game of all time? No. Fallout 3 wasn't either. But it's a good looking game, especially considering the size and detail of Bethesda's worlds. I think I'm actually more concerned with the animation and the way people interact with the world, it's always been a weakness in these games.

I get it

People want constant growth curve escalation

They WANT to be blown away from every angle

I say give the game a damn chance to breath before writing it off though

No one here is writing the game off in anything but dry erase. 90% of the people who are complaining about the graphics are going to buy it anyways.

Aside from that, I've made a handy guide to posting in this thread:
"The _____ was the first thing I noticed. For a game on current-gen consoles, it looks pretty awful. Didn't *insert old game from PS1 gen* have better graphics??"

And there you go! Now people can think even less while posting about a teaser trailer. :P

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Based Todd Howard & crew. :D

They're looping the trailer over at Twitch. Is there some show/reveal/commentary coming? :/
