Sigh, I guess I need to post my reason why the two cannot realistically be compared every page.
Would love to know why you can't compare The Witcher 3 to Fallout 4.

witcher 3 budget: 15mil
skyrim budget: 80mil
It strikes me as weird nobody gave Valve shit for the same thing they do Bethesda; they used Source for (over) 2 generations, and Left 4 Dead, whilst one of my favourite games of last gen, was graphically unremarkable.
Witcher 3: Made in Poland.
With the low quality graphics you would think they could at least get a nice draw distance and not this same old faux fog buildings.
I think my main issue with the graphics is the low resolution textures.
But luckily that is one the things the modding community does best to fix.
I don't thing this looks like state of the art graphics but it is not too shabby.
It's not really low quality, it's just lower than where it needs to be in this day and age for an open world RPG, I think it looks like it'll be good to play, but it still looks like a game from 2012 and there is no good reason for why that is.That's low quality graphics to you? Man, I think it looks great. The colour, the lighting, the texture work on that building, the environmental detail.
Some of you guys have incredibly high standards. Damn.

I like how the grass isn't just coming out of the pavement like it does in most games. I hate that shit.
this means nothing. whats the framerate of both? I hope its not raining on the Witcher otherwise its running 3ds levels of framerate.
amirite?
Yeah one is car racing and other is 6 hour linear corridor shooting.
Fallout games were never famous for looking amazing. Actually they dont even play that amazing from a pure mechanical standpoint. So dont expect too much on that front.
Fallout is all about atmosphere and world building.
"That will be $5 please."I think my main issue with the graphics is the low resolution textures.

This thread is why we get deceptive first-look trailers followed by two years of declining pre-release visuals and then "shockingly bad" graphics on release. If you'd like to continue that trend, just keep freaking out.
Are we looking at same picture?
A better way of putting it would be that it appeals to you, because none of the above is true when compared against other games.
This distinction, made by the person who expected Fallout 4 to literally look as good as what we've seen of The Division (created by the people who brought you your first look at Watch_Dogs at the very same E3), when no game besides that '6 hour linear corridor shooting' even does.
Went to watch San Andreas (which was shit) and come back to see you guys still debating about graphics. Lovely.
"Hey guys this completely dated and most likely broken and buggy mess coming out later this year is actually totally perfect! just mod it into a completely different game and surely it will be GOTY!"
That looks pretty bad imo but to each his own.I frankly expected it to look more like this

Doesn't mean I'm not excited to explore the world though. Hopefully we get details on the combat soon.
Would love to know why you can't compare The Witcher 3 to Fallout 4.
We know nothing, but I doubt it'll be 60 FPS on console 1080, 30 frames maybe. Though this is all speculation.Do we know if they game will run at 60 FPS?
Maybe it'll just stay in this thread like The Witcher 3 graphics downgrade thread.Went to watch San Andreas (which was shit) and come back to see you guys still debating about graphics. Lovely.
Skyrim impressed. No reason not to think we might have seen the same step up.Really? People are already whining about graphics? In a fallout game?
Fuck me.
It's a Bethesda game in the Gamebryo engine. It will be broken as hell and buggy as fuck.1. You don't that the game will be broken and buggy.
2. I didn't say the game is totally perfect. How would I even know that?
We can judge the graphics, anything else we have no clue.
It was blue in New Vegas.Speaking of the sky, this is the first Fallout game where they changed the sky's color to clear blue.
That's what you expect from a high profile game like Fallout. Witcher 3 delivered on that front. And I don't understand how you can't notice how low quality textures are in released F4 screenshots.
Division is made by Massive. Nothing to do with Ubisoft Montreal.
Yeah, Homefront is actually great example:
I mean this:

Difference in detail is staggering.
I think it looks good enough. After, people (myself included) are enjoying Witcher 3, and its graphics aren't as good as DriveClub & The Order..
They're making fun of Valve's failed attempt to monetize mods. Are there not going to be any free mods anymore or what is all the posts about it costing money about?

Ridiculous is more like it.Lol now I know why publishers lie. Man this thread is brutal.
I'm still laughing at all the people that this looks last gen. I implore you to go play Fallout 3 and New Vegas on a PS3, and rewatch 4's trailer. You probably will feel differently.
Yeah. I wish this game had a different setting. Boston is boring.Boston sucks.
Skyrim impressed. No reason not to think we might have seen the same step up.
Still, Fallout doesn't need to be an amazing looker to be an amazing Fallout. Looking forward to finding out what makes this one stand tall.

Edit: Bitching about graphics, after one trailer? Really? People who do this have no right to lament about the AAA industry's out-of-control budget spiral. You are the problem.
