I forgot to add how surprised and disappointed I was when
Wesley was killed by Karen. He was such an awesome villain...or #2 villain. Some actors can make the other actors around them better, and he did that. Karen is responsible for directly or indirectly killing off 2 of the better acted characters on the show.
I agree. Wesley's actor was great, definitely one of the best on the show. While I thought Karen was a pretty awful character.

I must be the only one who thought Vincent D'nofrio was kind of awful as Kingpin. Hated his voice.

I wasn't crazy about it at first. Sounded like he was really trying to play up "the bad guy voice".

But then more episodes go into his back story and I realized what a clever performance it actually was. The Kingpin is social awkward and is always trying to project himself as he thinks people are meant to view him. As a strong leader, when deep down he is still a messed up little kid.

Pretty darn good.

Just finished watching it.
Really enjoyed it overall. I read here and there that people prefer the first half of the season, but I feel the opposite. I felt like the show grew stronger with each episode. Yes, there was lass kick ass action, but I loved seeing the characters interact with each other. I especially loved the episode after Foggy finds out, some great stuff there.

I do have some complaints regarding the last episode, which felt the weakest.

First, Det. Hoffman saving the day. How exactly? Yes, he knows stuff, but I believe you have to prove everything, and I find it hard to believe he had anything concrete that can take down Fisk's entire operation. This caused the montage of everyone getting arrested to fall flat for me.

I also didn't like the fact that the FBI can't follow Fisk after his escape. Back up, choppers, something? Yeah, Fisk says to take down anyone who follows, but come on...
The last thing that felt out of character was him running away from Matt. Why would he do that? Felt weird to me.

Posted this in the Agents of Shield thread, but I figured it was worth bringing up again here if it hasn't already.

Crusher Creel, the guy Jack Murdock whoops, later shows up in Agents of Shield as Absorbing Man. That's cool, but what stood out to me in particular was a potential age discrepancy. Brian Patrick Wade, who played Absorbing Man, is 36 years old. Charlie Cox is 32, so only 4 years younger. I'm assuming Matt Murdock is still in his mid-late twenties since he is only just beginning to practice as a lawyer. Assuming Wade plays an Absorbing Man in his 40s, it should be fine, I guess. We can probably also assume an ageing Battlin' Jack was fighting a significantly younger Creel, I guess.

no need to assume, the announcer flat out said that Creel was much younger than the experienced "battlin' jack" during the fight.

Am i the only person who doesn't want him to do TV? If he does Bullseye I don't know what his commitments for future seasons will be like. I'd rather all were relative unknowns or at least not big movie stars.

Im more concerned about his acting. I dont thing he pulls the psychopath role good enough. I mean we are talking about someone who kills a kid for some icecream. Or lying naked on Punishers bed and stuff like that.

I also heard that Skye from Agents of Shield and Matt from Daredevil were at the same orphanage? As of now, Skye is 26, and Matt could be a tad bit older, but not by much. Absorbing Man/Crusher in his 40's sounds plausible.

Men get more handsome as they get older. :3

They had Matt and Foggy registering for classes in 2010, so they've got to be pretty damn young. Basically 18 + 4 years of undergrad + 3 years of law school + 1 year max of internship = 26 for a minimum, and not much room for them to be a lot older than that.

Also, I really hope if they do a flashback to Skye and Matt in the same orphanage that it shows them playing Final Fantasy 8. Would be delicious.

I believe the intent is that he could 1. cite specific examples, payments, etc. that were corroborated through police records/time cards, bank statements, phone records, etc. 2. as one of Fisk's primary enforcers him turning would lead to a lot of lower ranking officers being entirely exposed and likely willing to make deals, thereby corroborating his story.

Basically, he would provide enough specifics for warrants, warrants would find enough of a paper trail to lead to arrests, arrests lead to deals and corroboration, making a rock solid case.

I also didn't like the fact that the FBI can't follow Fisk after his escape. Back up, choppers, something? Yeah, Fisk says to take down anyone who follows, but come on...
The lack of FBI manpower and inability to keep corrupted officers (when they know they have a problem already) out of the process is dubious, yes.

Buddy had a helicopter to catch. He needed to be there in 20 minutes and just lost his wheels, while he knows the chopper is leaving with or without him. I'd imagine his view was that he'd rather catch his ride out of town instead of winning a fight with Daredevil only to be separated from Vanessa and stuck hiding out during a city-wide manhunt.

..i don't think so Matt is from NYC Skye was from where?

If true, that'd be insane.

LR also says that Mysterio is coming to Daredevil. If this is legit, I guess this means that Marvel isn't wasting any time using Spidey's rogues gallery in the MCU.

...Mysterio ?

His "powers" are basicaly useless against daredevil O.o

Not so much the show itself, but the elements of this show are so polarizing.

"Fisk was terrible and awkward!" "Fisk was so deep and well-acted!"

"It makes no sense that Vanessa would fall in love with Kingpin!" "Vanessa's romance with Kingpin is so deep and layered!"

"Karen was the worst character on the show!" "Karen was one of the show's strongest points!"

"Foggy sucks!" "Foggy is hilarious!"

"The costume sucks!" "The costume ... sucks!" (OK, there's one thing we can agree on.)

Originally China, but yes, she ended up in New York City. She was at the St. Agnes orphanage as a child, and when she was in her 20s, SHIELD picked her up in NYC.

oh brother, her mom's from china her dads from milwaukee and shields in DC and she ended up in murdocks orphanage ? good grief. I thought she bounced around to a bunch of foster homes and Mike Peterson's drivers License says California....so i coulda swore they were in LA when they picked up Skye on the show. They put a bag over her head and lead her to the plane and there are mountains in the background. After they put Petersons son in the orphanage/foster care Skye says she went to many homes like that as a child, but now she was St Agnes teh whole time? Riiiiiiiight

Just noticed D'Onofrio talks similar to his Daredevil role in Fire with Fire, a flopped Bruce Willis movie. Also has Rosario Dawson.

God damn, the fight scenes in this show are amazing. Im glad I accidentally starting watching this show.
I agree. The fight scenes are brutal. The damage that DD receives after each encounter would lay out most people for a month. Murdock family healing is like the mortal version of Wolverine's regen.

Whoa. Thats crazy. I feel sorry for Thomas Jane and honestly would have preferred if he got the role again. Jon isnt a horrible choice though.

I think the Dirty Laundry fan film could have literally been run as the cold open to Daredevil S2 and it would have been perfect.

But, the guy they've gone with isn't bad in terms of the look and ability.

It would be cool if they brought in Thomas Jane for a cameo appearance.

Maybe like Spider-Man 2?

That's not actually Thomas Jane.

I just finished watching it, and it was pretty good. I was a bit hesitant to watch it as it is clearly heavily influenced by Miller's run which I enjoyed but always found a bit too dark. The show never quite went there but who knows where season 2 will go, but it's too late I'm hooked now, lol.

The final costume reveal was too super-heroish for me, with all the dramatic posing. We go through 10 episodes without that and when he gets the costume he starts it up, which was a bit weird. The costume itself wasn't great either, I would've preferred all red. Part of me is disappointed it's not yellow, when Foggy learns his secret and looks at his trunk of gear I was expecting him to pull out a yellow one and make a joke.

I was shocked that they killed off Ben Urich and the Owl. Urich is an important character in the Marvel world, and I don't see why they'd use the Owl if they were just going to kill him.

I was hoping for more episodes with the Hand but I guess they set it up pretty well for season 2. I'm looking forward to season 2 though. Assuming that Fisk doesn't break out of jail in episode 1 that'll give them plenty of time to bring the Hand in and maybe get into some of the supernatural elements.
