This.

He got wrong information. That's all there is to it.

Just stop treating him as an insider, and just a fellow GAFer, and suddenly, your world changes. You know, for the better, less bitter.

Yep, already do.

Also I bet he dont want all that pressure on him again like happened at PSX. People were way to harsh

So what are you saying? That Activision is making an exclusive Crash game for PS4?

Do you really believe that? This is Activision. Some say The Devil himself. One of the most dominant publishing forces in gaming history.

Are they the kind of people who would make an exclusive for PS4? Think about it. Capcom likes making exclusives, but what was the last exclusive game Activision made?

The alternative is you believe Sony has somehow bought the IP. But with what money? We poor, man. I can't even buy socks these days. And why would Activision sell Crash? They could reinvent him and make him a billion dollar mascot like Spryo.

Then....where the f did the Crash teases come from in the first place? I mean logically speaking it should have never been on the table to begin with.

Also sorry about that stuff Worthy. You're still good!

What was the last successful Activision game that's not a shooter and that's no associated with Blizzard?

They have that IP rotting there for nothing. A collaboration makes sense and you know it :) .... even if Activision has the cash to make 10 Crashes - companies don't waste a cent if they don't have to.

Skylanders makes them more cash than they know what to do with.

Crash probably holds some value for them as another familiar kids' character that they could juice for plastic toys.

That said, the character is probably worth a nearly equal amount to Sony, as a good-will gesture to longtime fans.

But I don't think its' happening. No smoke, no fire.

So fucking done. Should've just kept my mouth shut...ugh. I realize it didn't happen at PSX and I truly am sorry for that, but Im starting to realize why some "insiders" just keep their mouthes shut. Poor Verendus. He will give us this list that he said himself wasn't confirmed for E3 and stuff won't happen and he will get shat on. To those that still trust me, which aren't many, thank you. You will not be let down. Again, I was wrong about PSX but I've gotten things correct, so saying my track record is complete shit is a bit of an overstatement. Sorry. That's the best answer you're getting. Also. Sorry for the rant. E3 HYYYYYPE!

Yes.

People are butthurt still and tend not to guilty themselves. Common pratice indeed.

And don't think the deal is beliving in you or not, but, at least not getting on you every damn time you appear on Gaf. That's fucked up...

Sony doesn't own the IP either... what is Sony doing advertising Crash? They couldn't even get him for Battle Royale but they got him for that ad? I could understand Street Fighter - I mean, SFIV released last gen but Crash? Besides the obvious point about what Hadouken cabs and Ryu ended up teasing.

Haha Verendus.

I thought you said that Crash was garbage, but now he has the potential to be a billion dollar mascot?

Its too obvious at this stage that a new Crash title is in development, and going by how that advert released around Xmas 2013, it should be pretty far along as it is.

Lmao, GAF has always been pretty hostile for 'insiders' ever since the whole Famous Mortimer shit show. Unless you're confirmed to be working for a major company, expect reception to be pretty hostile.

To me, I fundamentally have no expectations of any insider not named DemonNite. Yes, even Verendus. It's not that I distrust him, but if nothing of his teases come true, I won't be sad about it, because I don't believe in setting expectations over what may not transpire at all.

Furthermore, let it be known that this happened.

Yakuza Ishin: No Plans For A Western Release. (1 Year To Develop)

So, Verendus was wrong.

Turns out Verendus was right.

Even DemonNite gave us flawed info on when Bloodborne was to be revealed. He teased TGS, but it ended up being E3. Because you know, THINGS CHANGE.

Get out! :lol

Anyway, I do think that Crash is in development and Sony will annouce it once it's ready. Don't trust Verendus :p

Haha, I love Crash.

Verendus referred to it as garbage, to deflect the closely guarded secret that he's gone back home to Sony.

Right, Vernendus? :p

Already posted this a few pages ago but,

If this is not a nod to Crash being made I dont now what it is

I know guys, means nothing, I just really want this to happen

You all just need to play Super Mario 3D World. Great game, local multiplayer, good family fun. And instead of a marsupial with poor eyesight, that game has dinosaurs.

Can't go wrong.

I don't get why some people are so harsh on Worthy. Sure, he got several announcements wrong, but he got several right as well. It doesn't seem rational to blame him for hyping everyone up because the hype was ridiculous in the first place.

Worthy needs to chill and handle the heat. It's normal on Gaf.

Right, Vernendus? :p

Maybe, V is actually Mark Cerny Gaf profile and his new project is the Crash reboot. He did said he would lie to lower our expectations in order to get more amazed with new stuff.

We see you Verendus

This nonsense really needs to stop.

I believe he was slandering a Drive Club dev who stepped down during the game's production.

He stepped down due to familial issues, but Mort implied something else.

Can't remember the exact details though :/

I actually remember that now. I just didn't remember him by name. Thank you for the reminder.

From everything I've been gleaning and following in the last few days, paying close attention to teasing "insiders" and trying to see through the misdirection, I am going to make three guesses. I don't know if it's right to call them educated guesses. But guesses nonetheless.

The first is that we will see a new Prince of Persia from Ubisoft that will use the Ubiart engine.

The second that that there might be a new Crash game, but however it is presented might not be what people want. Possibly a racing game.

The third is Street Fighter vs Square Enix, which may or may not include PlayStation guest characters.

Wait, where some of this things came from? Or are you joking?. Im to hyped to see

Welcome to pre-E3 season everyone. Oyoyoy.

I'm gonna set myself up in a happy state for these scenarios when it comes to crash, e3 or not.

-classic style new game
-guest appearance in a game
-bought by corporation(doesn't have to be Sony) that will the treat the franchise with care
-Activision loses the trademark and gives up. Knowing the fact that they won't fuck with him ever again will be the last thing on this list that will make me happy. Giving it to radical entertainment was horrible mistake. What the hell were they thinking.

I know most of y'all will go with the last point. So don't even bother quoting me and bolding that point.

As for E3 in general. I'm gonna go as an optimist, and drop major expectations, wants and needs. That way, I wouldn't be disappointed like many of you will. I swear some of you are never pleased with anything.

Huh?

Also, wasnt the Prince Of Persia thing debunked? The voice over dude was talking about the movies

Or did I miss something?

EDIT: Oh, nothing really substantial. Just usual rumours

They're just guesses.

Prince of Persia because Verendus mentioned it on his list, Tidux tweeted an E3 game would start with P, and because of a rumor I remember from many months ago that there was a new Prince of Persia that was built on Ubiart.

Crash because there seems to have been some information, that prices to be wrong, about Crash at PSX. Somebody, who I don't remember, tweeted that there would be an E3 reveal that would be disappointing for certain fans who would have something long awaited revealed in the most "deflating" way possible. Also the Crash Bandipur joke in Driveclub, an obvious racing game. Other than that it's just a hunch.

SF x SE because of the banner at the Taipei game show that had the SFV logo and Square Enix credited at the bottom. Previously, another insider (maybe Verendus?) asked how people might feel about a PlayStation crossover in a different sense than PlayStation All Stars, something more traditional. That, to me, suggests there might be PlayStation characters in the next Street Fighter project. It's also possibly Street Fighter vs PlayStation, which includes Square Enix on some level.

Also, wasnt the Prince Of Persia thing debunked? The voice over dude was talking about the movies

I don't know.

I'd give up on seeing any of those, and instead look forward to Uncharted 4. You got a GOTG candidate incoming. There's no need to waste time on fantasy.

Holy shit! GOTG candidate?! You just got me hyped for the Uncharted 4 setpiece demo at E3, Verendus!

Three of those are console ports though. At least Microsoft is putting out some original content. This year has been sparse for exclusives so far (save Bloodborne).

So why are we discussing first-party lineups? Are we discussing the internal performance of Microsoft and Sony's development teams or the variety of exclusive games that are on sale?

People, I will make myself a target now...

Why do you hate Knack?
I didn't see a let's play until today.
Saw the gameplay at conferences and sites, but, it's my first time seen a let's play of Knack.

It is pretty good. Nice colors, OST is addicting, game mechanics fluid, and it's fun.

"But it's linear and you don't change much about the games mechanics"
Say what? So you don't like Crash at all. Just want the nostalgia feeling and didn't stop to think.

It is more versatile than Crash... Belive me.

I like (or at least I don't hate) Knack, but I think it's wrong to compare it to Crash. Crash was more about clever and challenging platforming. Knack is all about evading attacks and traps.

Editing mistake, I'm sure. The arrow was reversed. They probably meant Sony threw Crash in the trash.

Since he's a piece of garbage.

Geez. I welcome insiders here ;) but, I feel it is disrespectful to call Crash garbage. It is a solid loved IP and the games were of high quality.

Crash and Knack are not even close.

Wait, you are telling me that you got that the game is more versatile than Crash after WATCHING A GAMEPLAY video?

So you are defending a game you didnt even play?

Dont get me wrong I liked Knack, a solid 7/10 game for me. Also they are very different games so, nothing really to compare there.

All I want from U4 at E3 is a proper look at the next gen models for Elena and Sully, don't even need a mind-blowing gameplay demo.
This! So much this! Can you imagine Sully's individually rendered mustache and Elena's hair blowing in the wind? My eyes will melt when I see this.

Already expecting it. The comparison was at the statement which already heard many times about Knack been bad because it's linear. So I compared to a Gafs favorite which also is linear.

Yup. I need to play to see? To experience and have all the fun yes, but to understand this point, no.
Dude. I see a more elaborated game, and yes more versatile. Time has changed and Crash could be more versatile if done now, but it isn't.

Edit: And there was a LOT of people comparing them at the begin. Just because both are casual(could even say that?) games by Marc Cerny.
IMHO people crucified Knack by wanting Crash... sadly.

At this point, the grasping at straws for Crash is crazy.

Sony pays homages to old games all the time. Crash was instrumental to NDs past. This is all these little hints and references. Nothing more, nothing less than a little bit of healthy nostalgia.
