Splatoon |OT2| Prepare to Dye

I never realized that the Prima Guide section on the Amiibo states that the Splatoon amiibo will unlock content in Mario Party 10, Hyrule Warriors and Captain Toad. Was this known of or is this something that the games will get an update with later on?

Of course that's assuming that the content isn't just similar to Hyrule Warriors' default "one rupee" you get when you scan any type of Amiibo.

I could not check the link that Mister Sloane posted on my phone, but I own Mario Party 10 which indeed had a useless "one rupee mode" where you unlock decorations for your more useful amiibos by scanning all the outcasts once.

I played Captain Toad only for a few minutes, but did not come across the amiibo modes yet (when do I unlock them?).

Thanks for all the people that added me by the way, hope to get back in the game next to catch up with the new map and weapon. Please excuse my noobishness on your time.

Did we know this?

Here's the information for the other games - sorry I was being a bit lazy earlier!

Captain Toad: Tap other amiibo figures and receive 1-UP Mushrooms.
Hyrule Warriors: Tap any amiibo figure once per day to get a weapon rated 3 stars or lower, Rupee bonus or crafting material bonus.

YOU IDIOTS DON'T SUPER JUMP ONTO A SQUID WHO IS FIGHTING ON THE RAMP INTO THE FUCKING MIDDLE OF THE MALL

YOU SHITHEADS my entire fucking team super jumped onto me while I was trying to gain ground on that

So knockout just means a win? Not that you absolutely annihilated them in 30 seconds or something right?

Also thanks for the explanation guys :D Overtime makes more sense now
no, just that you got the timer to zero. you can still win if you dont get it zero. at the end of five minutes, the team who's timer is lowest wins but its not a knockout so even the losing team gets money.

So is there a reason why the game is refusing to connect online for the last 2 hours or something? Starting the game doesn't bring up the tv channel, and it won't let me connect to a lobby since it doesn't recognize I'm on the internet.

EDIT: Apparently the error code is a known issue with nintendo that pops up for whatever random reason, stays for a bit, and then leaves. Neat. :p

Works with Amiibo Tap as well! Got curious last week and tried it.

If I'm using a weapon with a radar sub, I usually drop them at key locations during the first 2 minutes of the match and observe what my team members will do on respawn. 95% of the time they just super jump right into the fray and ignore them completely (when it could have help route the enemy). If it's "that sort of team" I usually give up placing radars past that point as I know we're inevitably going to lose. Been yo-yo-ing between B and B- all week myself.

I also get that now. Error code 104-1970. Have you been able to connect during the last half hour? I haven't.

I wasn't able to until literally just now after trying off and on for the last 3 hours.

Shows how much I like it if I'm just randomly trying to get into a damn lobby in all that time, lol.

EDIT:

....nvm, I got "treated" to being able to watch the news report, then back to the same old error message with the lobby(mine has been code 106-0502).

GAH. I'm finally having a good run in ranked, and I'm a single win away from stepping up to a B- rank. Things are looking good.

Start the next game, and connection error within the first twenty seconds. The next game I get into is a lag nightmare, and we get our asses kicked immediately.

Why do you hate me, game?

I never realized that other than the Splatfest T-Shirts, participators receive a festival arm-band similar to what you'd get if you'd go to a music festival.

Nice touch.

a tip for ranked - unless you are actually quite good, you might only want to play when the map rotation favors you

my ideal map rotation for ranked is something like Mall and Kelp Dome, and I don't even consider playing if Skatepark is on the rotation

and I've found that when the majority of players are below your rank, you win less points and lose more

I honestly stopped playing ranked in splatoon because of how shitty my teammates always end up being. It's come down to the point where I just check for new clothes, maybe order something from spike, and turn off the game. It hurts.

Different colored lines for each team mate on the gamepad map would be nice. Can get a little tough to quickly parse who's who if they're close or overlapping.

As with everything, load out matters. If Blackbelly Skatepark's on the rotation, I'll switch from the Krak-On Roller to the Inkbrush - if Urchin Underpass is on, I'll consider switching to a Blaster or .96/.56 Gal.

Good news bad news

Good news: there's now trucks and stages for Splatfest in Plaza.

Bad news: Though not 100% confirmed, but it seems there's people creating lags deliberately to win, Nintendo need to fix this as soon as possible.

It's not how good I am though because I feel I do my role with the N-Zapper well, but it's my team as a whole, including me, which is the problem.

For example: 3 matches in a row just now we got it down to under 30...then we stumble and lose the point...then the map is lost and we are pushed back to our spawn point.

We don't know how to defend!

this is the worst game anybody's ever made in the history of man

*changes loadout and joins ranked again*

Yup.

I honestly stopped playing ranked in splatoon because of how shitty my teammates always end up being. It's come down to the point where I just check for new clothes, maybe order something from spike, and turn off the game. It hurts.

I play ranked to earn my money, so that's what brings me back.

I think I need to learn to stay back. Being alive is so much more valuable, so hanging back, even if you lose the zone, is a good idea.

in that sense then the tenta splattershot is more actually of an inkzooker weapon than anything else. I spend most of my time slightly behind everyone inking over turf and building meter

That's the problem though, I have too much money already and most of the clothes I want. I'm just waiting for dlc and bug fixes to take place so I can actually enjoy competitive splatooning.

Yesterday while playing, my girl friend was uploading some pictures online. Since I only have ! Mb up, that totally clogged my connection. But for that 30 minutes o uploading, I was DOMINATING. I'm too nice of a guy to throttle my Wii U connection to get those sweet 17/0 stats in ranked, but damn if that isn't tempting.

Same, according to my chart, I have 6 hats, 10 shirts and 1 shoe missing from the complete set and really i'm just going for 3 slots on all clothes in the future.

And i'm listening to Pre-E3 Podcasts, so need something to play, but Turf War is emotionless now.

First time I've played a single-player game in a while and it took me a good few minutes to stop tilting the 360 pad trying to adjust the camera

You're not the only one:

I returned to Batman: Arkham Origins after playing Splatoon (Wanted to play through Cold, Cold Heart before Knight came out).

For a good chunk of time when I swapped to it, I was trying to move the Xbox controller to shift the camera.

So you know who you're jumping to?

I tend to work in terms of where I'm jumping to. Might be more useful in more organised teams, perhaps.

Edit: Wait, if you want to jump to a specific person, you could just click the icons on the right, can't you?

My tip for getting to A+ is to just abuse the ink strike. A lot of maps it can completely take a zone or at least stop the enemy's timer. Also if I lost a match or I'm in a lobby with a mix of weapons I don't like the look of, I'd join a new lobby. Loadout:

You can, but for example if you want to use the big icons it's sometimes hard to work out quickly what line is pointing where.

At long last, on 13th June starting from 6PM (Japanese Time), the Splatfest will officially begin!

The theme this time is: Which do you prefer for breakfast? Rice VS Bread!

You can take part simply by voting for your side.

While the Splatfest is ongoing, Regular and Ranked battles will not be available.

https://twitter.com/SplatoonJP/status/609301095303647232

While Splatfests is ongoing, a special "Fest Match" (literal translation) will be available.

The rules will be Turf Wars, but you will only be teamed with other players who voted the same as you did

There are 5 "Fest Ranks" available to all players who participate in the Splatfest. The amount of rewards you receive is determined by how high your rank is

https://twitter.com/SplatoonJP/status/609301316368596992

Fest Ranks are gained by earning Fest Points.

The amount of Fest Points you earn is determined by how much turf you have painted to a maximum of 2 points. You get a further +3 points simply by winning.

In other words, the best way to increase your Fest Rank is by leading your team to victory. I bid you good fighting.

184 points for the highest rank... so assuming winning 45 games would do it, that's probably like four hours of games if you're really good.

Nice set, the only good thing I have right now is a pair of headphones with 3 inksavers (main), and im just waiting to unlock the last slot so I hopefully get dat 4th insaver. That would be godly.

I guess I should start branching out and actually learn another weapon

we should find a way to rank together, I can defend like a boss (when I'm doing well) but taking the zone is an entirely different matter. Where's my charger with the Ink Strike special

oh my, this is awful. Why would anyone do this - do they have no decency?

Ah, I see. Yes, in that context I only ever click the map markers. Hence thinking in terms of location rather than person.
