if you accept steam, then you've accepted DRM. If you're truly anti DRM then you would only be making purchases on GOG.

So either accept that this DRM thing that doesn't really affect you 99.9% of the time isnt that big of a deal and purchase a really good game or accept that you're being inconsistent with your ethics

Eh, not really. I didn't claim to be anti-DRM. I said I avoid non-Steam DRM, clients or otherwise. That's an issue of keeping things simple rather than moral crusading (the "borderline fanatical" comment was meant as half-serious), but I'll grant that it's silly or irrational. For some reason negative opinions of uPlay I've read here or there have made me strongly averse to it, even if I wouldn't notice it running in the background.

Regardless, I'll probably pass for now given I've got some other games to complete first. VH will be on sale again (or possibly bundled) soon enough. If it repeats as a flash later in the sale maybe I'll bite.

I can definitely feel you on this, but it's hard to get too upset when they're still selling the game for $15 you know? What Rockstar was pulling seemed super sleazy, but this just feels more like "We want to offer the game for $30, and $15 on a daily, and those numbers don't line up pretty with a $40 base price."

I open the clicker game via the client every hour or so to use gold on upgrading the auto cannons, targeting, armor, etc. Right now the game is in level 417. Cool.
