NAACP Leader Exposed as White Woman in Blackface

In the same way that anyone else who has that disease bleaches their skin to have a uniform skin colour, they aren't trying to become Caucasian they are just trying to have a single colour skin and achieve the normality they lost as best they can

I did think you were partly in jest, i get the similarity to an extent, but its worlds apart from this

I personally think MJ was vain or more likely felt pressured to have an attractive look and bleaching was the only way not to have patchy skin.

But really guessing at the man's motivation is kinda nonsense.

Michael Jackson swore up and down till the day he died that these were his biological kids

lol... still half in jest.. but still :)

Not to mention creates moments were trans people are accused of having transition privilege which is something I got thrown at me (in person to my face) by someone who wanted to be a dragon

WHAT?

THIS CANNOT HAVE HAPPENED.

This is more ridiculous than anything else going on this this thread.

Is there a link to what Charlemagne said about this?

only thing I could find. No vids yet.

He's right. Ten years from now black people will have surrendered their blackness to anyone who wants to wear it and will be happy to have received nothing in return. You can totally see it coming if you just look.

We've surrendered everything else. Like Paul Mooney once said "everybody wanna be a nigga, but nobody wanna be a nigga." Well she took the next step, and telling me she doesn't know what it's like to be black is the same as me thinking Bruce doesn't know what it's truly like to be a woman. That doesn't stop me from not caring if he wants to be one just like I could care less if this woman wants to be black. Lying about it on the other hand is the true problem.

you are joking, please tell me you are joking

Nope. I was a baby trans at the time and was only out to a few people and just starting to accept who I was and the fucked up difficult road that lay ahead to be who I was. He looked at me straight in the eye when we were hanging out once and said you're lucky at least yiu can have surgery I'll never be a dragon.

She's obviously done good things and has fought for civil rights/justice in cities. I'll give her dap for that. Obviously pretending to be black is wack but at the same time...isn't it somewhat endearing that someone hated being white so much that they pretended to be black? Usually it's the other way around, historically, so perhaps we can look at Rachel and see progress.

I dunno, I still generally agree with Paul Mooney's premise that black american culture is extremely desirable and emulated. Feels like an extension of that in some ways.

Edit: Although I totally understand what you mean in terms of the self-loathing that can be inflicted because of the way black people are treated in this society.

To be fair it wasn't those words but it was what he meant. I was lucky that I could have surgery.

What a fucking awful thing to say to a trans person who just started coming out. Our friendship was never really the same after that.

"So when are you going to stop using the internet, start hoarding valuables, and move into a cave?"

No, it's called assuming things you don't know about a person in an attempt to talk them down. How fucking dare you say that I have no knowledge about identity issues or being part of a minority group, when you have absolutely no knowledge about my personal situation whatsoever?

I didn't even do the schooling, just pointed out you needed one. Your posts were offensive to some, and ignorant at best.

Maybe think about why so many people kept asking you to stop and how these situations are different first.

Holy crap that is a lot of dead naming and misgendring by Charlamagne.

I was thinking this but put it much better.

Is this really bad?
Isn't this just a case of being Trans-Racial and identifying as a black person?

Or who knows, maybe I just don't know the story enough.

Man those would have been some amazing come backs

Feel like anybody seriously asking the transracial stuff should refer to this spot-on concise post from like page 3
why is it okay for someone to be transgender and "lie about their gender" by dressing and self identifying as the opposite sex, but not okay for someone to change the color of their skin and "lie about their race" and self identify as another race?

One is rooted in science, IE there biological reasons why a trans person is a trans person, and the other person is pretending to be something that science agrees doesnt exist

Trans persons are born the way they are, you aren't born as a black person in a white persons skin, it's not possible because the concept of race exists as a social construct to seperate individuals based off of physiological differences

I hope she does not step down from this.

I'm confident that she got REALLY into black culture and even adopted four black children. If she is trying to make improvements in black lives, then her race shouldn't matter in terms of being the head of the NAACP :)

She looks much better black!

Well. If you think about it, it really is the end game of cultural appropriation. We got the humor. We got the slang. We got the music. What's left? Your flesh. Surrender it.

Let's just all thank #RachelDolezal. Identity, pathological, & parental issues aside, she's doing more than most of us do for ourselves.
Now NuBlack is in on this bullshit.

Im chocking the next fool that says trans-racial in a context that isnt "oh look! That confused girl from tumblr is talking about being trans-racial again!".

Holy hell, that's just insane.

More research needs to be done on transethnic/transabled/etc. They just don't have the recognition/lobbying power yet to even get required scientific investigation done yet.

There are people that identify themselves as dragons, unicorns, Sonic OCs even. Fictional creatures that do not exist. Some of them identify themselves as non-living objects like boulders and cars. I respect them to a point, but from what I've seen and the people I talk to inside these communities, it's more of a spiritual thing.

"Despite the myriad of issues that muddled every action she's ever taken, let's acknowledge how important an example she is for black people and our community. I won't explain exactly what she's done but just take my word for it."

I agree with the poster who said a lot of folks have a very superficial understanding of the LGBT movement and attribute similar sentiments to this transracial nonsense.

It is absolutely infuriating on multiple levels. I agree. The worst part? Expect more of them to come in here saying the same ol' bullshit. Just go around and around in circles...

A damn mess.

I'm seeing a lot of people pulling that "look at all the good she did" line without obviously having read any of the articles. It seems to come from a place that assumes that if a white lady went so far as to pretend to be black it MUST have been helpful. Like when Michelle Pfeiffer saved all those kids in that one movie with Coolio.
