Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

I probably could have waited till the tomb raider series got a bigger discount, but since they were dirt cheap already, I picked up the DLC tomb and the Sure Shot outfit for TR 2013. I could care less for the rest of the DLC stuff (especially MP that I not touching).

I might, just might look into the Temple of Osiris heh, even through it apparently not quite as good as Guardians of Light.

Well living in Asia, publishers must think we're literal retards because because they literally just inflated the prices right when the sale started and some games didn't even change in price at all after the "sale" discount.

I'm done with steam sales, honestly. Scumbags.
Well, "we" as in the whole of Steam, are retarded. Many uneducated people just impulse buy, not everyone knows what "we" as in SteamGAF and the initiated know.

Just about to end

What's the catch with that game?

I'll note that i detest unlock systems, at least unless they're cosmetic and optional (eg anything like COD).
But this doesn't seem to have one...?

You are not going to get access to all non cosmetic options straight away and it would take a long time to get all the character classes just by gameplay. But you are not paying for new maps and it's far from being the case that you need all the classes to enjoy the game and all the loadout options.

No cards for me yet, though I wonder if the 24 hour limit is a hard-limit, rather than a daily reset, which could explain things, since I didn't get all 3 cards until later yesterday afternoon.

It is not for me then.
Can't deal with grind for gameplay stuff. Have had enough of that.
Probably. Since it is F2P i can always try it at some point but not in the mood now.

Thanks for the recommendation anyway.

If you just don't feel you can enjoy a game until you have unlocked all the options then you shouldn't get it. Even if rationally you don't need those options.

If you don't buy something from the flash or daily deal, do those deals reappear at the end of the sale or are they one and done?

Dailies may reappear later as Flash Sales/Monster Deals and vice-versa. Whether or not the last day will be an encore is unclear as Valve hasn't been entirely consistent in that area.

Ive got a plan of attack for petty much everything but Tower Fall. It's at 66% of at this moment and I have no real inkling if it'll got lower. I'd have jumped on it for just the base game, but I saw there's DLC with would bring up the price of the whole thing to like $10.

Most addictive game of all time.

Pretty proud of myself that I waited this long for Wolf Old Blood sale. Got that and Child of Light. Kind of tempted to get Miscreated even though my common sense is screaming "no"

Hey guys, I know this is more of a steam thread, but is Dragon Age Inquistion Digital Deluxe plus the expansion Jaws of Hakkon worth $50?

Depends on your taste.

If you are more of an old-school oriented gamer, then Inquisition is decidedly mediocre.

If you identify as more of a mainstream, fill all the arbitrary boxes type of gamer, then it will probably be fine.

Either taste you subscribe to the game gets stomped on by recent RPG releases such as Witcher, Pillars, Souls, Divinity, etc.

I cannot stick with one class. If there are options, i want them available as i never know what i feel like using the next moment, or what i need. (PVP games only.) Sure, i probably don't use most them ever, but it is a matter of principle.

Also feel design philosophy where stuff is locked is bad, players should have even starts, in a shooter at least (and in a class-shooter, this applies within class, player A's class 1 should be same as player B's class 1).

Well if you want to play a game that is only competitive tournament type matches at all times then CSGO is an option since there are so many people queueing for ranked match making.

Let me put it this way... Is the game more Dragon Age Origins or Dragon Age 2? I loved Origins, but was not interested in 2.

So. This is my first summer sale. I'm looking thru now. The only thing I wanted going in was valve complete. I just got my steam machine up a matter of weeks ago and I already have to many. So valve complete is in the cart as it should be. But so are alot of other things. And i'm having this pang telling me not to buy all this shit. I've battled with this typing of game hoarding in all my life with physical games. It's not the money at all. The prices are awesome that's why I want them, but I know that hoarding up libraries like this interferes with my general gaming enjoyment. You know how it is.

I'm going to buy valve complete right now, because I really do want it and I love half life 2. I can't wait to have all these games and I know that I can be happy having them permanently in my digital collection without even if I never played them. The rest of these tho, maybe I should just buy them when I really want to play them. Hmmm. I'll think about it for a few hours.

Unless it's a daily or flash, hold off until the last day.

Trust me on this.

You're already dead.

I caved and bought games. Argh. Oh well, never played much GTA after GTA. Let's see how good GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas really were.

dont buy anything that isnt featured in the front page as a daily / flash sale until the last day

Fucking hate Steam Sales. Friend texted me that Shadowrun Chronicles was half off, so I check the store to buy it, end up getting Borderlands: The pre-sequel and a Spellforce 2 expension. Eyeing Civilization: Beyond Earth right now... Luckily Elite: Dangerous is only 10% off or I'd have had to get that as well

This is my first Steam sale with a computer that can actually run all of the shit I want and more as opposed to old-ass games that are 3+ years behind.

This is glorious.

I would be really surprised if Civ - BE wasn't a daily during the sale. Borderlands too, they will soon discount Borderlands on a daily basis.
