Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

Didn't think Korra would go that low (Activision often being stingy with sales), but at that price I'll bite. Who knows what kind of notice (if any) they'll give before it gets delisted when the license expires?

I've noticed Activision does fire sales right before they delist licensed games.

Deadpool only got 6 months of availability.

The only thing I don't like about it is when I click on a game, and then press the back button, I have to start looking at a brand new list again... why not just go back to where I left off? It makes me not want to click on a game until I've seen everything on the list.

Late reply but if you middle mouse click, you get a new tab opened and you get to keep your spot.

No notice, but as has already been said, ever since Valve introduced the ability for publishers to set their own sale periods, Acti has been good about heavily discounting the games that are on the chopping block. Acti generally voluntarily gives up licences rather than letting them run their course -- this is why its licensed games almost invariably disappear in December/January (i.e. when its FY ticks over). The only licensed Acti game I've seen live a full life in recent years is Monster Jam (released November 2007; pulled February 2014).

Agarest War Bundle includes:
Agarest 1
Agarest 1 premium upgrade
Agarest Zero
Agarest 2

Cost of individual items: $16.76
Cost of Bundle: 19.79

Bundle is 3 dollars more than just throwing each individual item in a cart?

So in Day 1 the Monster game wouldn't even launch. In Day 2 I kept getting an error. Now it's at the end of Day 3 and I'm launching the game, but I'm waiting for 1000 people to join for over an hour because at this point everyone else who's playing this thing is WELL past the point of being lvl 1.

sadly stuff like that happens from time to time in the sale.

buying the individual dlc of the season pass for borderlands tps is like $18 while the season pass is $20 (is was $22 but they updated the discount slightly)

What have I bought so far?

It's all a blur.

This happened with the Oddworld Bundle the other day as well.

The bundle was $6.74 whereas all four games bought separately were $5.21.

I'm stunned at Korra dropping below $4. It's a Platinum game so I gotta have it. Didn't even realize it was on PC, honestly ... I'd just been dragging my feet about buying it on Xbox.

I think I'm gonna spring for Prison Architect, too. I was just talking about it the other day, and here it is for 85% off! Looks like a great deal. And for $1.50 more, I can get the soundtrack, the artbook (digitally, I imagine) and four other little games (DEFCON and Uplink look the most interesting) that the developer has made. I may go with that one.

I'm interested in Cities Skylines but I don't feel like I'd play it right away, so I think I can wait until it gets a deeper discount. Maybe it'll be 50% off in the fall or winter sales.

Picked up Super Time Force Ultra from the flash sale, played through the tutorial. It's confusing at first but it was a lot of fun, I'm excited to play through more of it.

Guess I'll pick up Korra if there's fear of a delisting soon. I was thinking about it but wasn't sure, I guess I'll go for it.

Still waiting on Metal Gear sales!

so I know the base game of METAL SLUG DEFENSE isn't considered to be very good. does anyone know if the dlc pack that is currently $7.50 would make the game worth it to play?

I'd like to know this too :X

Guess I'm grabbing dat RR now.

Are Metal Slug 3 and X any good? Only played the original at arcades but I don't like the 20% discount.

Hell yeah they are, Metal Slug 1-3 are the GOAT and among my top 10 games of all time.

I'm faced with a dilemma. No matter how many 99¢ games I buy, I won't be able to fill this Axiom Verge shaped hole in my heart.

Oh shit. Is Legend of Korra really that bad? It's $4 and it's Platinum. I haven't played a Platinum game that let me down yet. I even liked MadWorld. A lot.

It's $4
Just buy it, you could do worse.
It's not as bad as people say, think of it as a brawler with Platinum inspired combat and you're good to go.

Apparently Tales of Borderlands was price manipulated to show a "sale." This is getting ridiculous. Every day we've had this happen.

Remember that time when Valve was going to sell us mods? Oh yeah, it was LAST MONTH. Now they are allowing this shit to happen, basically tricking people into thinking they are getting a good deal like this was a used car lot.

I'd like to hear our supposed lord and savior GabeN explain why deceptive marketing Is acceptable.

The Gabe does not control the prices.
The Gabe's focus is on other things now alas.
Also there was a thread made about price manipulation but nobody cared much about it cuz it was Steam only.

not sure where you are talking about.
it was 50% off to start the sale
it's now only 33% off now that the first wave of sales is no more.

at the 50% off it was the cheapest it had been on steam.

if you were talking about the price being raised before the sale... well it's a MSRP 24.99 game so that checks out as well.
