Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

Uninstalling drivers isn't necessary.

Thanks a lot! I took the plunge and did the installation through GeForce Experience: never had I performed such a quick and harmless Display Driver update.
I'm really surprised at the level of quality and refinement sported by present Nvidia. In the past their software had been rather sloppy.

Not gonna play that Steam Monster Clicker game today.

The tendons in my wrist are going to pack their shit and leave.

RPG Mkaer 2003 is $2.99 :3
they have all of the DLC til sets and stuff on sale as well.
Dont do it. VX Ace is much much better. And if you're buying DLC for that, WHAT ARE YOU DOING. Most of that stuff is available via google image.

The game itself isn't appealing at all, but trying to get to the highest level in 24 hours is. There was data found for a badge for getting to level 300,000. Currently, the highest room is at just under 10,000 and the game resets in 2 hours. People are trying to figure things out like maximizing usage of abilites, which enemies to target, which upgrades to invest in, when to nuke a boss vs. when to milk it for gold. It's pretty interesting in the strategy regard. Plus, at least in the case of our room, we've had a sweet steam chat open that's been pretty active, so most of us just chill and chat in there while our scripts run and we do something else. It doesn't require a whole lot of commitment.

Is there a subreddit for this?

People in my group are not rushing anymore, I just got 200M+ gold on the last boss, everyone is just taking it slow.

Level 1800, was hoping to get to 2000, but it seems unlikely at the current speed.

And not a single card either since startup, hopefully one will come when all milestones are reached.

Well, Neptunia isn't nearly as good a series as Atelier (but mind you, this is coming from a huge Gust fan), but it's still far more entertaining in my opinion than Agarest. Neptunia obviously has fanservice, but it's more fun and tongue-in-cheek than Agarest, which goes all out on the dating-sim-like "romance" aspect.

I think this is rather apt concerning Agarest:The Agarest games would be better if the battles weren't such time sinks.

Hm, thanks, I guess I'll just put Neptunia on my wishlist for "the future of my backlog" since my playthrough-ratio for PC is horrid (thanks gog/steam-sales),
leave Agarest be and wait for Civ5 to be cheaper (though I dread the 'why are the birds suddenly chirping loudly outside'-effect). Not that that gametype is good for any backlog. Ha. ^^"

Just picked up Cities Skylines at $20 as my 3rd buy of the sale (other two were Hotline MIami and Homeworld) and looking forward to giving it a shot

If you're in it for the cards, you're better off quitting your current game and starting a new one. I wish someone would figure out what's going on with the card drops, because they don't seem random at all.

Star Ruler 2 is -40% but no a daily sale as far as I can see. Any chance it will be and will go below -40%? It just released in March but was Early Access before.

Bought The Orange Box and Evil Within yesterday. Refunded Bad Company 2, The Witcher 1&2 and Wolfenstein: The New Blood. Should get the funds back before the last day and hopefully an encore.

Hoping for some interesting games in the next update.

Level 1283 and same here. But I just wanted to run it as long as possible to get the highest number I can get on my badge. The cards woulda been a bonus, if they had dropped

Levels will continue to go higher everyday as everyone continues to gather more and more badges for the bonus items. Might as well quit near the end and get the cards every day.

so guys. since every dollar counts during these sales, something came to my mind. i bought mass effect 1 on steam a month or two back for 7 bucks and i tried redeeming the cd key to origin and it worked, so now i have it on both origin and steam. i'm kinda thinking of requesting a refund so that i can use the 7 bucks on something new WHILE at the same time keeping my origin copy. any idea if that'll work? :P i'm thinking not, i think the cd keys are linked to the steam purchase, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Dude, really? Making "every dollar count" is not the same as all out stealing it.

Also, I'm wondering if Origin hasn't already thought of that. If the Steam key gets recalled.

I wonder if FF13 will go any lower then 50% off. 11.99 is still too much.

Of course it will, why would you think otherwise?

For the best FF ever? No, that is a steal.

Thinking of getting Cities Skylines for $19.99? What does Gaf think?

Easily top 3 games released this year.

Earlier in the thread someone mentioned how to get new cards:

- Join a new game
- Join a friend's game
- Beat a level 10 boss

So in the mini game, I'm up to level 3463. I've gotten no card drops, and have read conflicting things about switch to a new room. Am I supposed to stay where I'm at until the end?
Edit: and thanks up for the answer.

Not sure about Korra, but the discount is good enough so I grabbed it. I'm passing on Grey Goo for now, I'll wait for their to be a complete edition before thinking about it.

Lost Planet 2 is back to 60% off. Capcom removed the sales price on the first day.

I wonder if the Lost Planet 3 milestone from the Monster game will be a franchise sale, further dipping that price.

Either way, probably your last time to pick up Lost Planet 2 for a decent price.

So tempted to get Invisible Inc :( but $13 is a bit too steep for my budget, specially because I'm still waiting for Ori to be a daily/flash sale.

Dammit Steam.

Dang, Prison Architect is the real deal.

WAY deeper than I would have thought.

At $4.49 (-85%), it's shaping up to be one of the best deals of the sale thus far.

I'm going to say that joining a friend's game is somewhat spotty. I've joined and joined and joined friend's games and got no card for it. Just now joined a friend's game that was still filling slot, so we started... from the start and no card drop for it.

I just broke through 3000. I guess I got lucky and got in the first wave.

Just bought Child of Light, it's dirt cheap at € 3,74. I've played through it once on the Wii U and had a great time, really enjoyed it. Drop dead gorgeous visuals, hauntingly beautiful music and a solid gameplay. I hope all the hate Uplay gets is exaggerated.
