Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

Lol @ Activision. 25% off. Really guys? Why even bother?

That's gotta be an error. Click it, and it'll show you the whole franchise, a lot of which is 51% off

Not sure if I should get Alien Isolation. I've got a couple of games from the sale that idk if I'll even get to it.

Edit: Any chance Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will go on a deeper sale?

Wait for the dailies/flash, etc etc.

Also: TERRORIST HUNT FTW

FarCry 4 Gold worth it at that price? I played a bit of Farcry 3, really liked it but ended up getting distracted with other games at the time, need to finish it...

Keep waiting until the end of the sale, hopefully Rainbow Six franchise comes up in a flash or Monster milestone as that is where the more obscure games pop up.

Ubisoft seems to have an aversion on discounting some of their older titles such as Rainbow Six, Brothers in Arms, Beyond Good and Evil, and Prince of Persia on Steam. Maybe they are embarrassed with how far their game development has dropped in quality. I can only speculate.

Will do. Man has it been crazy! I've never spent this much money to games ratio.

I don't know what's more hilarious, that Blops 2 is still sold for 60€ normally or that CoD4 is 12€ with a 51% discount. That game is almost 8 years old now.

Wish Activision would put down the CODs to 75% once. I just want the older ones. World at War and MWII for the single player. -_-

How's Transistor? The soundtrack from the trailer sounds amazing. I have Bastion sitting in my steam library though. Maybe I should play that first.

Just bought Ethan Carter. Played 5 minutes just to see da graffix - the whole presentstion is top notch. Seems like a great game, just wondering why I didn't grab it sooner.

Still work every fucking penny IMO.

Dedi servers, mods, and STILL the best Call of Duty ever made. That's a good price bruh.

Man, my wallet is so not ready. I've already purchased the XCom complete pack and Don't Starve. Swore I would not spend over 10 bux for a game this go round, but Alien: Isolation is really tempting.

That game is worth it, isn't it?

Absolutely amazing. Do yourself a favor and get it. Just don't expect it to play like bastion, it's very important to use its "tactics" display, so the battle system isnt as fast.

Played it on my PS4 and i think it's a great game. Quite deep combat system and a fine story. Extremly good audio in the game and the visuals is staggering!

Activision has realized that their products cannibalize each other. If people have that Call of Duty itch, they could potentially pick up MW or BOII for cheap, play that for a few hours, then be fine. Activsion would prefer to route people away from those titles as much as possible, and into their newer, more expensive iteration in the series.

Get Games Go used to sell the Mac versions for 75% off, which activated the Windows version as well due to Steamplay. They recently put a stop to that and have stuck to the $10 older title variation.

That's whats so awesome about sales.

Free advertisements for games that have zero marketing budget (being on the front page of Steam generates a ridiculous amount of traffic to individual store pages).
Allow people to more willingly purchase games.
Generate more day one interest in a potential sequel as you now have hundreds of thousands, if not millions of new fans.

I thought Transistor was Super Giant's best game. I truly enjoyed the depth to the combat system that could be played as turn-based or as a true real-time, ARPG depending on how you had your skills stacked up.

I actually had significantly more fun with the game when I played through on the hardest difficulty as an ARPG rather than turn-based.

I really really don't want to use the word 'pretentious' about a game, but Transistor is pretty darn close to being that.

The biggest flaw the game has though, is that it manages to be repetitive while being a 4h long game. The battle system is pretty interesting, but they just don't mix the encounters and scenery enough.

I want to say that it's worth the price it's at now, but I didn't enjoy playing it. If you are interested, it might be worth buying it just to try it though. Other people have enjoyed it, and you cannot fault the developers for trying.

Server browser in game is kinda shitty though. Lists a bunch of empty servers, while third party clients list a few populated but completely overwhelming servers.

Just like Q3A which is the engine CoD4 uses. TROLLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

I really dont think it is Ori. Every big indie game gets a daily when it first goes on sale. No way they'd hide it under a minigame unlock.

Well done, it really is an excellent title. Looks amazing, great atmosphere and presentation, interesting mystery at the core of it all... just all around great stuff. Wish you'd have bought it last year and supported us in the GOTY votes. :D

Ori has a 1 out of 3 chance of being the milestone unlock
only 3 games that fit those tags together

My opinion as well, I believe Ori is one of those titles that will be featured on the main daily section.

The milestone release seems to be for more niche titles such as Blackguards or Outcast.

Looking at the reviews for Endless Legend... one of the highest rated reviews is some poorly written love story. Steam is weird and sad sometimes.

I hope the next Brothers in Arms game is not published by Ubisoft. Hopefully Gearbox will have their hands firmly on it.

Just bought cod4 and metal slug. I recently sold off my whole console collection, I put an enormous amount of time into cod4 on ps3.

can't wait to play it on my tv with steamlink/steamcontroller

Should I bite on H1Z1 guys?

I'm unsure as to why anyone would. It'll likely be free by the end of the year and you'll probably purchase enough games during the sale to tide you over until that happens anyway.

Unless there's something that paying customers receive (besides early access) that I'm missing.
