Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

Anyone know what's the deal with the steam sale card thing? I had the monster game idling all day and got no card drops yesterday when I had 5 drops remaining, today I join a friend's game and get to level 10 and not only do I get a card, but now it says 6 card drops remaining...what?
 
I reached 2K games and level 100 on Steam, so a little celebration...

You sure it's remaining, and not how many you've earned so far?
 
Does anyone on here know if you can play black ops zombies mode in lan over hamachi? I'm worried they're gonna pull the plug on the servers soonish (if they haven't already going by reviews) and I'd hate to waste $40 for me and a friend to rebuy it (My ps3 is dead).
 
Still patiently waiting for Ultra Street Fighter IV. I've only got £12 left in my budget so I don't want to blow it early. Hopefully I can get Dishonored and USFIV and be done with the sale.

Anyway, some solid deals recently. VERY tempted to pick up DreadOut once and for all at 66% off. Gonna wait a little longer on the VNs to see if any show up a bit cheaper but I'm thinking the 75% offs on them will be for the winter sale.

I'm not liking the random nature of the card drops, I've only been getting one per game restart and that has been about it. Not that I care about these things but, for a change, they put a silly game.

Took the plunge on Korra too but I noticed GAF kind of hated this game. Plays like a charm performance wise though.
 
I have never figured out how any of these cards work. On the mini-game page, it says I've earned 2. On the inventory page, it says I have zero, with no drops remaining. Is it because I haven't bought anything yet? Their help page is not helping me at all.

I played the original version and enjoyed it. I'd say get the YOLO version and ask for a refund if the bugs get to you. I own the YOLO version but havn't played it. I think the people are pissed that owners weren't given the new version for free and the game is still buggy.

Interesting. I've earned 8 cards, have 5 remaining, and I've only had one card for purchases. I'm not sure at all what's going on there. You can't get 6 a day, though, that much is for certain. Maximum of 3, says the "frequently ignored answers" in the OP.

Thanks to you both. It looked like they are still active with the patching and its super cheap.

I'm totally on board to call it the YOLO edition.
 
I'm really annoyed by this stupid minigame. I only managed to get one card drop today from the beating the level 10 boss, but otherwise haven't had a single card drop. I wish the rules on this were a whole lot clearer. It's a good thing one of my drops was a foil so I can just buy the cards for the badge if it comes to it, but overall this method is really frustrating. The community votes were much better.
 
Tempted to get Transistor and Fandango Remaster, but I want that Divinity Original Sin discount.

I caved on Cities Skylines. :p
 
I don't like this trend of Ubisoft games not being available in my region...

everything from Watchdogs onwards isn't available.

Ubisoft are fucking losing it
 
H1Z1 vs DayZ.

A friend is pushing me to get H1Z1, and really disliked the zombies and mechanics of DayZ.

Is this any different? Is it fun?

I want to pick up one of the Civilization games but I'm not sure where to start. I want something that is newbie friendly as I have never played anything like it (I know). Civ 5 complete edition? The new space one or something older?

Last summer, I stupidly bought Civ V and a couple of map packs by itself instead of the Complete Edition. Now, if I bought the Complete Edition, it said it doesn't include Civ V or the map packs I bought. So, my question, does it reduce the price or would I still pay the $12.49?

Some are in the same area, where you play as minor characters from the campaign and learn a bit more of the backstory. Some have new areas (or entirely different locations like the ones based on the movies).

Largely they're just challenge maps with some window dressing though.

Civ V is plenty newbie friendly. I picked up on everything really quickly on my first play through. I loved every minute of it, though. I was so stuck in it. I had too real a hatred for Gandhi and the game isn't even real, it was intense.

If you do get Civ V, just get complete 'cause if you end up more than a casual, the DLC doesn't really get much cheaper than it is now. Don't know much of anything about the others.

Yeah, it won't throw gift copies of the base game in your inventory, and you sure can't double up on DLC in your own account. It won't reduce the price if you buy complete, no.

E: Boy, it's slow moving even today. Sorry for the double.

I dont get why people purchase a early version of a free to play game. Why pay for a "worse" experience?

Its not the same as DayZ, it looks more shooter like and less like a mess to control.

Forget Batman, Thief 4, MGSV and other AC shit, Styx is the real deal.
The production value and art design are great too. It's really puzzling how we hardly hear anything about that game.

For me it's the best surprise of the sale so far.

None of the games you listed are meant to be stealth games.
