I can agree with that. The worst part of VATS is how rote it becomes because you rarely have a reason to do anything other than a headshot. They both could use a revamp, no doubt. I just get the sense he'd rather have no VATS. Like, making it a competent shooter without that extra gimmick to get you out of a jam seem far less interesting to me. VATS could be fun, but it needs more of an incentive to go for anything but a headshot.
You'd have to have a pretty narrow view of RPGs to hold Bethesda's combat as something beyond criticism.Maybe RPGs aren't your thing?
Can't believe he hates Blood Mayhem 2 and Point Juggler DX, what a dick
Wait, doesn't it not start until noon? So 45 minutes of lockdown?

Love it love it love it.CD Projekt has been doing free "remasters" since the Witcher 1; InXile is in the process of doing it for Wasteland 2; Harebrained Schemes did it for Shadowrun: Dragonfall's standalone edition. Then we look at every other company, making some graphical enhancements and packing the DLC in and selling it as an entirely new game.
"Boo" is the only response we should have to this very cynical "Definitive Edition" remastering trend.
Yeah, that would probably be a more... acceptable approach. It definitely needs to be widely known that remasters aren't a new thing, and that some companies have a much more consumer-friendly approach.Love it love it love it.
Sort of agree-ish, maybe, I dunno. Perhaps that might be a naive / unrealistic take on things, possibly? I don't run a company, pretty sure I couldn't, so I can't comment with too much authority on decisions made in that environment. I get that a company wants to make money though, that they have to somehow be successful within this capitalist system. So I think I tend more toward wanting to *praise* companies who go the pro-consumer route, and then simply, uh, *acknowledge* the more prevalent "pay for this" approach with mildly dismayed acceptance.
"Let's take a moment to show appreciation to these all company's for free Enhanced Editions" has, for a while now, been on my dusty list of Threads I Might One Day Bother To Make.

No, but Jeff wants everything to be Gears of War. He thought the combat was a huge improvement for Mass Effect 3 were as I felt it was one of the many gameplay changes ruined the ME3.
..it was, though? At least at a basic level of 'feel' and refinement.
