I can't believe E3 YouTube guys gave this a B rating. Wonder what they thought of MS conference.

Their reasoning makes sense. Grading the conference itself, and the overall content with respect to the platform, are two different grading scales. They're saying in terms of excitement, it's hands down an A.

Bloodborne DLC, that means 0 out of 10 and worst conference ever

Jesus Christ there were so many megatons in this conference.

Hmm... i'm trying to rank the conferences of the day but i can't. While Sonys was probably the best thing of all time, i didn't really feel it. Something felt weird. Guess i'll just put all conferences on #1 except for EA. That was boring as hell.

I have always considered E3 to be more about catering to the "hardcore" gaming audience. You get a chance, once a year, for a big spectacle and to build hype and excitement for your platform. I think only recently have the major companies realized it is no longer a time to treat it like an investor's meeting, and more of a celebration for the fans. In this way, Sony completely delivered. Build hype and excitement over your brand, deliver games that people want to play, regardless of exclusivity, and you will set yourself up for success. Sony does not have a strong exclusive lineup for this year, but the pipeline of games, and the availability of a strong multiplatform lineup will strongly influence prospective console buyers this holiday season. This has to be considered one of the strongest E3 conferences of all time.

As always the post-conference mental gymnastics are a pleasure to watch

Sure I do. They indulged a lot of people's nostalgia and disguised a very poor lineup of games. Pandering can be done in a bad way and you know it can, so spare me your attitude, bro.

Welp I guess Tallshortman was right about you not understanding what pandering means. "Pandering can be done in a bad way"? Pandering is inherently bad, definitionally so. One also doesnt "fall" for pandering, its explicitly indulgent, no trickery involved. I'd also say that Tallshortman was right about you not understanding the basic mechanics behind the company/consumer dynamic.

Sony conference this year was way better than the last two sony E3 conference.I thought it was solid(B),but a bit too predictable. Also way to many multiplats were shown during the conference and I did not like how they decided to announce two final fantasy games a couple minutes apart during the conference.I think they should have saved one of the games for another conference. They signifcantly cut down the filler this year which was great.

Embarrassing may be a stretch but it was definitely bizarre.

'Hey let's bring out Suzuki to advertise his Kickstarter for Shenmue 3 because we couldn't fund development, however we did have enough to gain console exclusivity.'

do you really believe 2M$ can fund the game? like seriously?

How can people put Sony's conference on par with MS's? Like come on. Seriously?

BUT!

HALO!

GEARS OF WAR!

BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY (Which I feel is one of the MOST overhyped things EVER).

/s.

Just don't get why people can't be a fan of ONE thing without shitting on another thing. It's ok to not like things, just don't be a dick about it.

Yep, Sony snagged the best conference alright thus far.

That Uncharted 4 gameplay showed off some very interesting aspects such including destructible cover.

Sony won this for me Pre E3 with the knowledge that SF5 would be shown with two new characters.

But then...it happened. It all happened. The fact that SF5 is a side note really shows how epic this all was.

I mean...fuck. This conference was legendary. Absolutely, no bullshit legendary.

This, I feel for ms, they do what people always moan about, exclusives, new ip, big games, 360 games, new ui, etc and people say it was boring.

Sony show a couple of exusives, go on about getting dlc first and show a kickstarter and a remake and they are the second coming.

No Mans Sky does look awesome but, maybe I just am not to interested in the giant dog game and shenmu (or what ever it is)

Wish I wasn't demoted to junior status so I could type "shit juniors say"

Is this even real?

Its been since the 90s that I have seen such a high concentration of win in one conference.
This was BRUTAL.

Sony won E3. It actually won this gen. Its all over. Go back home and have a tea.

This entire E3 has been so overwhelming. Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft and Sony have all exceeded my expectations and we're not even done yet.... I don't know if I can handle it.

I can't believe E3 YouTube guys gave this a B rating. Wonder what they thought of MS conference.

That's where I am as well. Lots of hype and long time announcements for games that weren't exclusives, not a lot of first party content.

It was a good show. It wasn't the best show I've ever seen. A B and/or 8/10 seems appropriate to me. Again, easily the best Sony show they've probably ever done.

Nintendo's gonna have to do some work to rival it, and without Zelda, I don't know if they can.

Sony completely knocked it out of the park.

Shenmue 3, FF7, and Last Guardian were considered fanboy wet dreams, yet here we are.

Horizons looks legitimately good. I am very excited to try it out.

Uncharted 4 looks solid, but what do you expect? It's Naughty Dog.

No Man's Sky looks good and it was nice to see real gameplay.

Not really a Street Fighter guy, but this is still as big of a win as when SF5 console exclusive to PS4 was first announced. Today was just a reminder.

Some indie stuff. Some third-party stuff. CoD shacking up with PS4 just goes to show how the tide has turned, irrevocably.

But compared to the other conferences we've seen so far, Sony had the most megatons overall. Very impressive conference.

Yeah I think Sony kinda stole the show.

While there aren't a ton of exclusives, the PS4 is continue to prove to be an exceptional choice to get a wide array of games.

I haven't seen that many megatons in such a short period of time.

Well...I did really love the conference but I think you guys are kind of drinking the Kool-Aid here. I'm more excited about No Man's Sky and Horizons than the other "retro reveals" because they showed actual gameplay. The Last Guardian did so it gets points but Shenmue is a Kickstarter and FFVII was just a cutscene (though I will be fair to that one as well and note that we still have a Square Conference). Like, we're doing the exact thing we whine about.

Still a great conference though.

I cannot believe what I've just witnessed.

Sony absolutely killed it. The Last Guardian, Horizon and Uncharted.

I have work in a few hours but the excitement is just too much for me to sleep.

I hope, once people finish their raving over the holy trinity, people will also be really excited about Firewatch.

That game looks incredible. I can't stop thinking about it.
