Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Gameplay (E3 2015)

All of the stuff posted is amazing, but for some reason I can't get over how his foot catches the ground, kicks up mud, makes a deeper groove in the mud, and his leg then acts realistically to the sudden resistance.

i wonder if they actually dragged nolan north like this in motion capture lol.

Is all of what we saw really explorable? Or is it just a chase playground?

I guess all I am trying to say is that the scope of this gameplay demo is absolutely amazing, just to serve as a 5 minute car chase...

If this sense of scale is actually translated into gameplay exploration then it has to be the best news ever, but if it is just there for 5 minutes it is a tad bit disappointing.

What I saw was incredible, but scale is the one thing that I believe uncharted needs and I hope that we get to explore such vast environments properly. Has Naughty Dog commented on this somehow?
Well you are probably not going to be able to stop and get out of the jeep, if that is what you are asking for this area. But they have shown larger areas, take a look at the PS Experience demo.

Yeah my guess is that this serves as a chase scene, but in its own merit I think its great you still have the option to drive the jeep wherever you want while being chased.

So this area if it serves just like an open ended jeep chase it is amazing.

I just wish when we have quiet moments that we will have such large environments as well to explore.

Could possibly go back there on foot?

Sully saying "we can never come back to this city again" kind of sets it up to happen, in an action movie way.

They did in the after show interview with Geoff. I saw it in the theater so I don't have a link but they talked about how you could take different paths down and different things would happen.
Oh damn that sounds amazing.

This is such a leap over Uncharted 2 and 3. In my mind it justifies another Uncharted, because the gameplay is finally JUST clicking with Naughty Dog, and getting super good.

Really a staggering amount of detail and moving parts. Check how the truck catches a clothesline here. You can even hear it in the video. And the perfect scripting that makes the enemy truck weave through the roads opposite the player. So good.

Naughty Dog is so far ahead of everyone else in crafting flowing set pieces it's crazy. Like maybe Santa Monica is up there too, but the trickery on display here is so seamless.

so bloody good.

Topped UC2 and TLOU demo's for me personally. This was insane. The improvements they have made makes this look like such a natural progression for the series gameplay wise. Very impressed. I can see myself replacing this level over and over again trying out all the options.

It's cool when even game devs acknowledge the insanity:

It really does look like a sizeabe chunk of Rockstar sandbox, but built entirely for making those 2 minutes of the game as great as possible.

It's like when they made a fully realised ocean system for the Ship sequence, but even more ridiculous. This is just stupidly awesome.

Just saw the gamersyde footage on my TV. My god this game looks good. The amount of stuff going from physics, to objects, to open terrain.... The Order is not on par.

The amount of detail put into just this short segment of the game is absolutely blowing my mind. That was incredible.

Really impressive demo. The world felt very alive and the destructible environments were the best I've ever seen.

You know what the most amazing thing in this demo?

That this is such a big and complex environment, and you go through it in high speed... and yet.... I cant seem to notice and streaming pop in whatsoever... how the hell is that possible?

I honestly cant notice any pop in.... I am sure it is there, it just has to be, but I just cant notice it...

Tech-wise this seems like a revelation to me in terms of gaming, because at this day and age we live in, pop in seems to be the no1 crap we cant get rid of.

as soon as i saw it i noticed that naughty dog finally perfected the cinematic action setpieces they've been striving for.

like yeah the previous games had some crazy stuff but it still felt like it was missing something. this though, looks like it was ripped straight out of an action movie. just how everything is reacting to the chaos

best naughty dog presentation.

and really makes others like tomb raider, gears etc. kind of look archaic in comparision tbh.

That screen where Drake's pointing at the tower in the distance is so awesomely cocky, it's like Naughty Dog pointing out that they're about to blow everyone's minds with everything between here and there in a flash (and I wonder just how much more of that island we'll see in that sequence.)

that subtle troll of the dimly lit interior into the bustling, vibrant city was awesome. seeing Drake and Sully in that environment with cars zipping on the street, and construction going on... really adds to the believability of the world, it feels like they're in our world.

i also like how it harkened back to those controlled walk moments in past games, where they crammed everything into the graphics in a small area, this took what looked like that U2 Tibetan village segment and then flipped it on its head when it opened up into a gunfight and this huge expansive and controllable car chase. so freaking good. and the graphics... man... my heart..

the dialog and banter was on point too, just great stuff all around.

i really want a proper story trailer though! and elena!

Elena , She needs to be there.
