Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Gameplay (E3 2015)

The graphics the scale and attention to detail are stunning but the gameplay is where it really shines. This thing is heads and shoulders above the rest.

I'm a PC only player so haven't seen much of the previous games, but the animation on that is brilliant! Walking through the crowd at the start was so dynamic, really believably done.

its insane...really makes me wish MGSV wasnt open world, the chit Kojima would be able to do wouldve been amazing as well.

This and Horizon = best graphical showings of E3

UC2-style Elena (with more realism/mature style and a little older obviously) is back baby.

That was amazing. This is the uncharted I wanted to play.

I'm gonna replay the current games just to get bored of their linearity in preparation for theis amazing sandbox style gameplay.

I've thought about it especially when compare the jeep sequence at part 1. I would assume that, if clipped out, you can traverse the area where the jeep traverses and every road I've seen seems like an option to go through. Add the wide area from the tower to the starting point is pretty much given enough space for an open-world experience.

Hi tech diagram incoming... For the first road section, where the armoured vehicle is going down the main road, and Sully is ducking down side streets, it could be something like this

Imagine the black line is the main road that the truck drives down, and the red and blue lines are side roads cross crossing the main road. They'll almost certainly be controlled to give the impression of freedom while still moving you towards the goal. And when you're going at speed being chased, you don't have time to stop and have a drive around to look for dead ends.

i had no faith in the tech behind this game after that lousy looking december footage, but wow this looks so much better. the animation is unbelievable. between this and horizon, naughty dog and guerrilla games are so far ahead of the rest of the developers its scary.

Yep it's Uncharted. Gunplay still looks a bit weak like the previous games.

Should be very enjoyable though, hopefully they match the balance of the second game instead of going too heavy on the cinematic / scripted like UC3.

Only negative for Naughty Dog, sort out the water splashes.

I noticed this too, but this is Naughty Dog.
Their water tech has been amazing in every single Uncharted prior to this - especially in 3. They'll definitely fix it.

This game looks fantastic, and I can't wait for it!

Mind is blown. The original demo, while interesting from a gameplay point of view, didn't impress me that much on a technical level.

This? Wow.

Their engine is clearly capable of delivering much larger expanses than I had expected. The fact that you could drive all the way across that area is just insane. I expect this capability will find its way into the game design as a whole.

Then there are the physics interactions which are simply first rate. The way everything moves and reacts to real actions is really impressive. Possibly the best example of in-game physics I've seen yet. Makes the whole world feel alive.

Honestly, they're doing SO much in this game that I cannot possibly imagine them actually hitting 60fps. I mean, I hope they do it, but it just seems impossible for the PS4 hardware to actually support that.

In some ways, this takes me back to that original MGS2 reveal only fifteen years later. They don't explicitly focus on minor details but those details are EVERYWHERE. This looks soooooo expensive to make too.

I don't think we've seen a single game with more impressive physics system in place than Uncharted 4. So many moving things and all have physics....this is the one thing I expected from this generation.

This, to me, was the next step in a cinematic action sequence...the scene was much more complex than anything they showed in their previous gen games. In fact, I think this is the most complex action sequence I have seen. It legit looked straight out of a movie. Definitely the best E3 showing they have ever done.

I honestly didn't thanks to weak CPUs plus the amount of effort and skill it takes to make that stuff work well within a game.

Agreed. I cannot think of a game with action this complex or nuanced. The detail goes right down to the smallest objects but takes place on such a grand scale. It's really truly insane and must have taken so much work. These guys are wizards.

Could it be that ND is taking advantage of the design Cerny was talking about with the GPGPU? Most have said it was perfect for physics tasks.

Even the side view mirrors of the jeep reflect the environment as well as Nate and Sully!

It's crazy that they even bothered o.O

One has to wonder how long Naughty Dog can keep Druckmann and Stanley at their ranks...

those guys seem to be absolutely at the peak of the industry right now. Their ideas and choices seem one step (if not more..way more) ahead of everyone else...

And I believe that if they dont get like a huge promotion ala Evan Wells style, I dont see how long they will want to report to a "boss".

I wont be surprised (but will be extremely sad) if they opt to part ways with Naughty Dog in due course, because they will have achieved everything they would hope to in ND ranks and their careers will be at a stall. It's absolutely normal for them to aim to achieve more together with their own company perhaps.

All in all I think these guys are in top form atm... and ND should give them reason to stay there.

3 years from now on CD reveals their new TR which will copy this. Man they really should have kept TR to its roots.

I meant I expected that before we found out about the specs.
