Sony conference show floor reactions
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6U2LPKeTbQ

This is awesome man, thanks for this. At the risk of sounding like an insatiable so and so, do you know if there are any reaction vids to TLG and Shenmue III floating around? I'm dying to see a showroom floor video of the crowd reacting to the former in particular.

I love that some posters are claiming Sony isn't in touch with the gaming landscape because of the 3 surprise announcements while ignoring CoD, SWBF, and Destiny in their conference. Maybe said prayers aren't in touch with the gaming landscape because those 3 games are guaranteed to be some of the biggest games this year.

And for the love of God stop quoting that post with 100 youtube links in it. Mobile am cry.

Wut. Sony covered all the bases. they showed COD,Assassins Creed, Destiny, Battlefront, Disney Infinity for the majority of Gamers. Games for the hardcore enthusiasts, Horizon, FF7, Last Guardian, Uncharted 4, Shenmue, they showed indies who are basically the A and AA studios these days, Sony did win E3, they had a stellar E3.

And they didn't even show their full hand. No mention of Persona 5 and the Witness, which will probably be their best exclusives this holiday.

I never in my life thought I would see this. I honestly still can't believe it. The only thing missing was probably a HL3 announcement

everyone stop quoting that entire list now please. It's gonna make me claw my eyes out. and not only mine.

I think Sony did the right move concentrating on next year's games, for the most part.

Let's face it, the remainder of this year is already overcrowed as hell... To the point where hard sacrifices will have to be made, and games that probably deserve my time and money will not be bought.

I mean, we're getting Arkham Knight, AC:Syndicate, Phantom Pain, Battlefront, Black Ops 3 , Fallout 4, and that's just counting the major GOTY contenders from the top of my head. I'm not rich, and I honestly don't have time to play all these games, and I'm sure most gamers are in the same boat as me.... And that's not counting all the cool indies, less known games and stuff like the BloodBorne DLC...

So to me, the rest of the year is already covered, which leaves me more curious about what's in store for me next year... On which Sony delivered the prospect of great new content for next year, instead of adding a new halo, gears and tomb raider to an already crowed holidays lineup.

Wheres the best place to download the entire conference in the best quality? Want to archive the "unbeatable E3 showing" for historical purposes.

Do you ever see a conference where games get announced 2 plus years before they are expecting to release? No delayed but planned?

MS 2014? Unless you'll be playing Phantom Dust, Crackdown and Scalebound anytime soon, they were all introduced last year as CGI showreels that everybody knew were not making anywhere close to 2015.

I should qualify that by saying it's the biggest megaton for me.

Halo 5 looked pretty shit. I thought that would've been a megaton if you're a Halo fan.

9.5/10. I would have given it a perfect score if we got a quick look at SSM's new God of War game. I just want to know whether they decide to get away from Greek Mythology onto something else! And to see how pretty it looks on PS4.

Sony conference show floor reactions

i went through the whole list.
My god... this is a megaton of epic proportions.

For a game that's been in development hell for the better part of a decade, it looked borderline unplayable. Ridiculous screen tearing, graphics out of 2006, and it didn't look like it controlled especially well either.

I'm glad people are getting this game, don't get me wrong, but it's mostly because I'm sick of hearing about it. I expect it to sell about 50k copies LTD and review terribly. The hype for the game has always completely mystified me. I played Ico for about two hours and stopped because I was tired of fighting the controls. Shadow of the Colossus was even worse.

Wow... Just wow. I'm quoting for later. You think this will sell 50k, even though both ico and sotc sold more, in a time where they were barely played and have gained cult status since then. Two of the greatest games ever made. Man, no wonder you fight so hard if you hate these games. You may be entitled to your opinion, but damn, it can be and in this case is wrong.

This is awesome man, thanks for this. At the risk of sounding like an insatiable so and so, do you know if there are any reaction vids to TLG and Shenmue III floating around? I'm dying to see a showroom floor video of the crowd reacting to the former in particular.

Watch the shenmue 3 gametrailers one, it's so good.

I feel sorry for MS.
Sony will now be known as the company who brought back FF7 and Shenmue and gamers will be forever grateful.
They are now the greatest videogame company, from now on there's no videogame industry without Sony, if Sony dies our industry dies.

I personally prefer the slow year long burn of Sony's approach rather than the stacked as hell Microsoft fall with a literal drought for the other 9 months.

Me too. I'll be playing the shit out of Battlefront and Fall Out this fall and winter, so it will be nice to get some Uncharted in the usually dead first part of next year.

And for the love of God stop quoting that post with 100 youtube links in it. Mobile am cry.

I've put it in quotes now to stop the wall of text happening.

But at some point you just got to give it up for Sony. This conference was not only the best since Nintendo 2004 (which sold the world on the DS, introduced us to Reggie and ended with the still-legendary Zelda reveal), but will enter the E3 vernacular as a synonym for 'mind-blowing'. "That was a good conference! Not, like, Sony 2015 good, but good!", people will say.

They've set a new bar. In any other year, we'd say Bethesda was amazing, MS was great and Ubisoft were very good. Not this year though. Not when there's Sony 2015.

I've never even played Shenmue and I donated $5 to the Kickstarter. That's how excited I am for games right now lol

It was a load of smoke and mirrors. I'm annoyed with both Sony and Microsoft for different reasons, but Sony is especially painful because they have an incredible box just sitting there spinning wheels after 18 months. I'm playing Witcher on it ATM, and it's amazing, but the fact that we don't have Uncharted or anything at all this fall, TWO YEARS after the PS4's launch, is borderline insulting for people who bought the PS4 on blind faith.

At least with Microsoft, we got some genuinely new stuff (HoloLens, Rare's pirate game looked like it might be sweet). Sony glossing over Morpheus also doesn't fill me with confidence.

Shouldn't have bought it on blind faith. I got my PS4 on Day 1 and I've been more than happy with the game I've bought for it.

As for Morpheus, they've got the floor booths where people can experience it, rather than attempting to do a stage demo - and it isn't like they were about to hand out information on pricing, launch date etc.

what surprised me:

- no mention of Driveclub ps+ edition
- no Witness either
- no shadow of the beast (just a logo and a few screenshots today)
- no Rime

The games they introduced the ps4 with...

That's his point. The big announcements other than horizon are years away. Shenmue is targeting 2017. They just started on FF7 and TLG needs no explanation.

Do you ever see a conference where games get announced 2 plus years before they are expecting to release? No delayed but planned?

Sony threw a ton of hype games out there that have no true release date to cover the fact they are limited in the near term. A conference is about what you can play soon. Not maybe play in two years

Microsoft did the exact same thing last year.

.

Try harder.

I am curious how Phil Spencer did not nab Shenmue. I would love to learb about the behind the curtain battle over Shenmue and we all know there was one. In an ideal world, the thing would have been platform agnostic regardless.

Doesn't look like Phil had a great year tbh. Tomb Raider exclusivity only to have it DOA when Fallout 4 drops is silly money wasted.

I feel sorry for MS.

FF7 is not exclusive.

For me is the lack of a SEGA presence thus far, are they ghosting this e3 or what? Would have like to see something on yakuza 5 or zero.

Here's something you should get used to hearing. Fuck the holiday season. Sony does have exclusives for the fall, there's a list right there. Considering my holiday season will be filled with playing fallout and not a first party game, much like a lot of people, having a stacked holiday means nothing if the rest of the year is a barren wasteland.

So, the rest of the year is a barren wasteland, but you'll happily spend the fall playing in a barren wasteland? :D

What i think people are not getting is that sonys main goal is to put consoles in peoples homes. Sony taking NA npd sales etc was icing on thr cake we all knee ps4 would do well globally we just did not know it would be this well. Sony for the first time not only has great first party support but also great third party support as well. Sony has sprrad out its games all year round and a variety as well. People keep forgetting that xbox has had nothing for atleast 6-7 months and just becausr they are releasing 3 titles by the end of the year makes them better? Sony is in it to win it when they dont have a first party game they will fill it with third party. That is why they teamed up abd have consoles and bundles for batman and mgsv and finally teamed up with call of duty. Because its sad to say but it is those games as well that will push console sales because lots of people want special editiok bundles or an excuse to get one especially if it involves one of their favourite franchises

Wait, Hololens is not smoke and mirrors to you? I dont even know why MS decided to show that, it will be years before that becomes a viable product.. If it doesnt just suddenly disappear.

I dont get your comments regarding TLG, did you not see the detailed animations? The evocative and expressive beast? Can you not appreciate that demo on any level?

I dont understand how people can be so down on it.

So, the rest of the year is a barren wasteland, but you'll happily spend the fall playing in a barren wasteland? :D
So only exclusives matter? Between Fallout 4, Star Wars, Firewatch, Metal Gear... how can this year be described as barren?

Screen tearing? I didn't notice any, and I absolute abhor screen tearing.

What surprised me
-no ps plus year round line up update
-no new firmware update details
-no price drop or bigger hard drive
-no release date for uncharted
- no teaser for god of war since it's their 10th anveesiary this year
Overall a great conference but I did feel like it was shorter then last year

Wait, Hololens is not smoke and mirrors to you?

I'm waiting for the hands-on impressions where the FOV isn't big enough to cover the table you're looking at, where the resolution is nearly as blocky as Minecraft, and the voice/gesture controls don't work half the time.

So only exclusives matter? Between Fallout 4, Star Wars, Firewatch, Metal Gear... how can this year be described as barren?

Hold your reins, there's a smiley in there for a reason. And I never said this year was barren.

In 2006 we laugh at Sony for having the worst conference,9 years later they came back with a vengeance and have the best conference which will be talked about for years and years to come.

Shenmue III actually happening is insane, but announcing a Kickstarter at an E3 press conference? Beyond bizarre.

No complaints from me, though.

It's not bizarre, it's different. It's new. It's awesome as long as it's the right game.

As per Verendus' hints, I'm surprised we didn't see either of the 2 First Party JRPG's that are supposed to be announced this year.

Although it's more fitting for them to be at TGS, I expected one of them to be revealed.

Still hyped to hear about them.

At least with Microsoft, we got some genuinely new stuff (HoloLens, Rare's pirate game looked like it might be sweet). Sony glossing over Morpheus also doesn't fill me with confidence.
They glossed over Morpheus because it's what the gamers wanted: everyone on here was complaining that the show would suck if they had to watch a guy on stage with a headset dance around wildly for half an hour. Half of Sony's E3 booth is dedicated to Morpheus, I assure you they're not hiding anything.

On the other hand, I find it hilarious you use Hololens as a plus, especially since it IS completely smoke, mirrors, and lies.

I've never seen GAF down so long. It really only came back up once the Morpheus section began then went down again lol. Was basically down the whole conference.

The biggest megaton for you is that you can now play your old games one your One?
Seriously?

Well there really wasn't any other megatons I'm interested in. Like I said I have no interest in Sony's big three and whilst I thought there were a lot of cool games at the MS conference nothing was particularly surprising.

Halo 5 looked pretty shit. I thought that would've been a megaton if you're a Halo fan.

Warzone was a pretty big megaton, that mode looks amazing. The campaign demo was pretty average though, it looked very pretty though and the story implications were really interesting. Gameplay was a bit too scripted although that's completely expected from E3 demos.

That was the problem with MS conference, that the games wasn't the thing that made ppl the most excited. It was BC and Hololens.

I disagree, there was a lot of games to get excited over at MS's conference, just nothing really unexpected for me.

Overall it's been a solid but unexciting E3 so far for me. A lot of very cool looking games were shown, Sea of Thieves looks awesome, Forza 6 was amazing as expected, Recore was intriguing and I really like how Gears 4 seems to be going for a creepy vibe like the first again, it had a somewhat boring demo though.

The coolest thing I saw from the Sony conference was 100% Horizon, that looks really, really cool. It's the first PS exclusive I'm genuinely sad I won't get to play.

I think Sony did the right move concentrating on next year's games, for the most part.

Let's face it, the remainder of this year is already overcrowed as hell... To the point where hard sacrifices will have to be made, and games that probably deserve my time and money will not be bought.

I agree that Sony is more diverse and interesting than Microsoft in terms of first party offering (always been the case so far imo). I didn't opt for the PS4 as my main console of choice this gen on a coin flip. Microsoft offering of Halo 5, Gears 4, Fable and Forza 6 doesn't do it for me. I'm already looking forward to the SFV beta and the SF brand > Killer Instinct by a mile for me. I'm intrigued with Horizons and Uncharted 4 does look like it could be the best one yet.

Sony has nothing to worry about since they have partnership with Activision and EA which will assure them of moving million of consoles, with titles as Star Wars battlefront, Destiny and Call of Duty. Those are the big paying titles which sell consoles, along with Fallout 4.
