I think its Yonah. Kaine's eyes are a different colour iirc.

Grimoire Nier spoilers:
How would Yonah even live that long? She dies shortly after the game ends no matter what, she was never cured of the Black Scrawl. It can't be a future Yonah either, the Replicant system was shut down in the area the game takes place in, so there won't be any further cycles with the same characters.

So, in the last 30~ hours, we've had:
1) Xbone backwards compatability
2) All of Rare's non-Nintendo-owned work on a disc
3) The Last Guardian
4) Shenmue 3
5) Final Fantasy 7 HD
6) A new Starfox by Platinum Games
7) A new Nier by Platinum Games + the big cheeses of the first Nier

The only sane conclusion is that witchcraft is afoot.

Gaming is dead. This is just a desperate encore after half the crowd already went to a cheap bar next door.

Chiming in that it's awesome to see a quality studio like Platinum is being rewarded for their track record with consistent work and cool projects. Who knows when this comes out but the team pedigree is impressive.

So, maybe it references scrapped ending E?

wasn't it about a robotic tree that can create Replicants, and he brings back Nier, or something like that? Can't remember the details exactly.

Didn't the backstory in Nier Grimoire also mention it being androids that worked together to send the
Grotesqerie Queen back to the other world/Drakengard world
?

I wonder if "DOLL, PERSON, MACHINE" means
Accord and their kind from DOD3/Drakengard3
will have a more prominent role. I mean, we have
Popola and Devola
in NieR...

EDIT:

?

Theory is that
it's referencing what happened in DOD3/Drakengard 3 ending D

I think PS4 is just "default" especially for a Japanese company. Unless Sony really secured exclusivity, I could see an Xbox One western release!

Loves Robotech S1
that scene looks like it could be the aftermath of ending e
in the forest of myth where kaine revives nier
. i'm going to go out on a limb and predict that ending e will be recreated as this game's prologue.

I'm sad to see that we play as a anime girl. I want a father NieR-typ main character. Maybe they will change it for the west. Would be interesting to play as a rough women, that isn't size 0.
Considering the focus on subversion and deconstruction of JRPG storytelling associated with NieR and Drakengard in general (minus 2, which Taro had nothing to do with), odds are that she won't be characterized anything like the "anime girl" you're dreading, whatever that means (I say that since it's such a broad term that could mean any number of things).

And yes, the guys on the IGN stream were an embarrassment.

This is heaven. I have died and went to heaven. I was thinking a few hours ago that "uhum, after Shenmue 3, I really cant complain for anything else, I mean SFV is coming, yeah UMVC4 is not happening, but the only thing I could wish for now is maybe another Nier-like game".

And then THIS? With Platinum?

Heaven is good, folks. Heaven is good.

not really, they weren't around when the Queen appeared. But yeah, they did actually helped with the Red Eyes, and also are the ones keeping the Replicant system going. So yeah, she may be one of them too, it's a possibility.

Btw, the Queen didn't go back to the Drakengard world. She "died" but spreaded the curse that started the Nier plot (not the Black Scrawl, but the White Chlorination syndrome).

Didn't play Drakengard 3 so I don't know if there's any Nier reference in there, would appreciate spoiling it to me if so :)

I'd of course prefer to play it on PC, but this will make me buy a PS4.

WTF Durante, I thought you were on that Bloodborne shit.

I thought I would never be excited again by the announcement of a game as much as Silent Hills. This is better news.

This puts the FF7 news to shame. Nier is in a league above FF7.

Well, Drakengard was PS3 exclusive.

I gotta say something like this (and that), it's probably lucky they were made for ANY system at all, so I'm not complaining.

Nier was one of the best games of last gen due to the soundtrack alone. Nier 2 in my veins. Oh my lord and cant take it anymore. Best E3 ever!

This was an amazing announcement!

Since I don't have a PS3, I never got to play this game. Is there anywhere I can order from that does international shipping? Like Amazon third party sellers?

The game acknowledges that other timelines exist (Nier is sorta briefly mentioned), but otherwise the game has nothing to do with Nier and much more to do with Drakengard 1. Some of the weapon stories do reference Nier, and there is some speculation that one character is related to the Nier timeline.

If you'd have told me the list of E3 announcements six months ago, I would've told you it was fan fiction. This is incredible.

Thanks! (I think that was for me lol).
So yeah, like DA1 to Nier, some references but probably not key on the plot of Nier 2 (will see).
I'm reading about that character right now. It's kinda weird though, because
the Androids on Nier didn't really tried to save humanity, they weren't programmed to do so, they just keep the Replicant cycle going because that's what they were for.
