Quick question, how well is FFXIII optimized for PC? Am I better off getting a PS3 version of it, or does it run well without the bells and whistles of modding the graphics?

I'm just looking for the cheap, and close to console version option. My TV is 720p anyways, not really looking for insane floor tesselation or whatever. :p
It has issues running at 60fps.

If you're not even at 1080p, then there's really not gonna be much difference. Loading times are probably a lot quicker on PC, which might make it a better choice?

Oh good, maybe you can answer my concerns about the game. I really wanted to like SE, and I was thrilled when they had a free weekend for it a while back, but the more I tried the survival aspect of the game, the less I was enjoying myself. I tried the scenario where they start you on a platform attached to an asteroid with some very basic stuff at your disposal, and for the life of me I couldn't get anywhere near enough resources to build anything. All of the various components that I needed required so many resources, and I could hold such a small amount, that it was taking forever to mine things. Not to mention the fact that I kept burning through my meager supply of fuel and couldn't find any more. I would jet over to other asteroids, but they didn't seem to have much more either. I actually never made a single ship before I ended up getting frustrated and uninstalling the game.

The game's advertised as having a survival mode where you have to scrounge for all your parts, and that's really what I would like to play. Is it at all possible to play SE in this way?

It is and there are tons of "survival ready" ship blueprints in the Steam workshop.

They've added an oxygen mechanic as well, so now you have to manage two critical resources.

The main thing for survival is you need to pick one of the infinite world types, otherwise you'll exhaust the few local asteroids and won't be able to progress.

My typical survival technique is to hand mine enough resources to build a small mining ship or drone, then mine and build successively larger ships. I like to design ships in creative and then test their viability in survival. Right now I'm working on a large ship that is designed to be built in stages and viable as a primary base of operations from the beginning.

Guys :

GRAV or Life is Feudal ?

I really like minecraft and just like wandering around mindlessly and craft here and there. Explore new places caves etc. Do GRAV give these ?
Careful with Life is Feudal. From what I heard, the development is basically stuck for a year already.

The game has a weird framerate issue where it'll randomly drop frames, even in not so demanding areas. Still, if you have decent computer, you can make it look waaay better than the ps3 version, while running at the same speed (or even at 60fps in most areas). So, PC easily wins.

You're still better off getting the PC version, but Square really botched the port.

Is there a PS3 movie mod yet?

I'm good playing the game at less than 60FPS, most of my games are in locked 30 and it's enough for me.

However, the fps drop is something that would bother me, but unless it happens too often, the price is good. What do you mean with "PS3 movie mod" though?

You'll have to lock the FPS to 30 with a third-party program, like RTSS. Otherwise, the drops will drive you absolutely crazy.

And, AFAIK, the PC version has the lower-quality Xbox 360 videos, instead of the higher-definition video of the PS4 (based Blu-Ray non-compression).

Man, I thought today was gonna be the day for Dark souls 2 sale. Come on steam, don't do this to me!

Shh. Remember. Patience. There's many days left.

So if I were to get into Total War, outside of Attila because my wallet isn't that great and I'd like to buy some other things later on, which one would you all suggest? Friend's have pointed at Shogun 2, but there's two of 'em. The only game I've played of the genre lately is Civ V.

Is the street fighter IV sale for real? I was expecting it to be sub £10 and they have only knocked like £2 off what it was when the sale started. D:

Guess the rest of my budget is going towards a Final Fantasy game.

Yeah, I decided against picking it up. I already have Super Street Fighter on console, I figured maybe get ultra on PC, but the price, especially with the Canadian dollar. It's not like it's got airtight netcode. The lag is too real.

Yup SF daily is pretty lame. So-so discounts on the games/upgrades, and none of the Ultra DLC on sale.

I've actually never played either Icewind Dale game despite Baldur's Gate 2 being one of my favorites games of all time, so I will definitely be grabbing the enhanced for 7 bucks.

By far the most expensive day so far for me, bought both Lords of Xulima and Talos Principle.

Probably both will be on sale even cheaper before I get to them, but both seem like games that deserve support.

Just re bought ff4/AY, 7, and 8...

At least they were 50% off.

All I have left are Ruse and TitS... Come on TitS, need something better than 30% off.

That is the greediest and creepiest sentence I may have ever written.

Same here. First £20 spend today. Talos seems to be a 20 hour campaign though, from what I've read, so it seems fair enough to me.

What an amazing deal!

I'm still waiting for the old Ubisoft games to get a deeper discount (Prince of persia, Rayman Origins, Beyong G&E, Tom Clancys...), but I doubt it is going to happen :\
