PS Now is shit in comparison to backward compatibility. Let's be real here.
I'm hoping for more publishers to jump on this.
Good thing its primarily goal isn't BC then.

and poorly done emulation of 360 games on xbox one wont be?
Yeah you have to rent and then stream games you may already own. How about that![]()
Wasn't it Don Mattrick who said only 5% of users actually take advantage of BC?
The only true BC machine is PC.
I have no interest in it. I already made the jump from 360 to PS4.
Good lord if Xbox would of made a statement like this after Sony announced BC this place would of had a field day
I bet doing the same thing for PS4 would be agonizing due to PS3's architecture.
Microsoft doing this is awesome no doubt.
Surprised at no mention of PS Now as at least a semi-comparison.
You really don't see the difference? Ps now is really cool and will be improved plus it's a smart thing for Sony to have but it's great of Microsoft to handle BC the way they are. I hope it ends up way more games eventually. If it's a underused feature why have they wasted money making PS Now?
At least Microsoft doesn't charge us for the games we already own![]()
You are in the majority.

Thats actually what I wantIt's been known since the PS4 launched, the PS3 is just too complex to emulate, you need the actual hardware.
PS1 and PS2 on the other hand would be comparatively easy.

Bullshit ass reply. They should've said "we're charging you and we like doing it.".

Emulating 360 is probably be a lot easier (and less expensive) than emulating PS3

I would be happy if Sony would just add native support for PS1 and PS2 games. I'm not sure if they're even going to bother with that at this point :/
Surprised at no mention of PS Now as at least a semi-comparison.
PS3 is cell and PS4 is based on PC CPU. They can't even do it even if they wanted to, right?
Conceptually what's he saying doesn't really make sense, couching it as if it's a binary choice. Xbox is also pouring a lot into features for the Xbox One OS as well as the backwards compatibility.
It was quite a complicated announcement and Im not sure I fully understand it yet. And I suspect there might be a few twists in that particular tale. But we will see"
What is so complicated and hard to understand!?
I just want them to have some kind of BC with PS1 & 2 games. Even just have classics.
Considering that there's also a new Dashboard UI coming for the xbox those two don't have to be mutually exclusive. But he says that Sony will not be following the same tactic, as the firm is investing in other software updates to PS4.
So what is the primary goal of PS now?Good thing its primarily goal isn't BC then.
