I don't know how any self-respecting fan of video games could be salty about this legendary conference unless they have some kind of emotional attachment to Sony's competition and refuse to buy a PS4.

Hmmm how intriguing, Noone here would possibly fit that description would they?

Nahhhh

Seeing how well Horizon turned out makes me real excited for this JRPG project from Sony that Verendus has been hinting at. Hope we see that soon as well.

Was not sure not post this, and I know its "SHOCKING NEWS", but, there is a great interview with Shu by the Kinda Funny folks, where he teased playing Bend's game, teasing exciting Japan studio titles, him playing the new Gravity Rush game, the new Suckerpunch project, and Quantic Dream's game.

I think this is how its going to go for the rest of the year as far as SCEWWS new announcements:
Tokyo Game Show: Gravity Rush1/2 PS4, Bloodborne Expansion + sequel tease
Paris Game Show: GT7, Bend's game, Quantic Dream's game
PSX2: SSM GoW, Sucker Punch's new game, and
Crash

Trying to remain as unbiased as possible.

I feel like the fact that Shenmue needed a kickstarter is really dumb. I mean Sony will take all the glory of announcing the game but won't chip in 2m to fund it? Sony's thrown far more money at far less deserving titles, so why couldn't they help fund this one? Part of me thinks that the Kickstarter is a PR stunt, but part of me fears that Sony just wants to reap the rewards of the game without having to invest anything into it, and that this kind of thing will become the norm. For everyone's sake I hope that's not the case.

Not a FF fan (Haven't played any) but I can't think of a single game that I would say justifies the massive reaction to remaking FF got. Maybe I'm old-fashioned but remakes really don't excite me. I suppose that the FF7 remake was a long-time coming but with no release date it could still have quite a ways to go before it's actually out.

Last Guardian was practically a meme at this point. It's been in the incubator for 6 years and seeing it again it looks the exact same as it did 6 years ago. Sorry for being so negative, but what were they doing in those 6 years? They've been working on this game for 6 years since we last saw it, and very little has changed. Well at least it still looks as charming as it did back then. The trailer was far too slow-paced for my tastes though. Will have to see how the final game actually turns out.

The run time was a lot shorter then I expected, and it was fairly well-paced too, although I feel like it was extremely front-loaded as there wasn't much hype at the end besides the UC4 demo, which although definitely looks good, is still Uncharted so nothing really ground-breaking gameplay-wise there. It feels like Sony really got the better end of the Third-Party stick at this conference, with a fairly solid Battlefront gameplay trailer, and dare I say the most full-featured Cod reveal yet considering most E3 Cod reveals only show Single-Player and this featured Multiplayer. Unfortunately, it meant we also had to sit through thoroughly unexciting Destiny DLC and Disney Infinity reveals. Also I was gone for it but I heard there was an extremely snooze-worthy Playstation Netflix part too that no one seems to be bringing up.

Horizons actually looked pretty good, although the gameplay was losing me at the end. Of course, The Order 1886 LOOKED good as well, so you can never tell these days. No Man's Sky's greatness will be determined by how diverse each world is, in my opinion. The fact that there are pretty much infinite planets to explore doesn't mean much if they all look like the same 10 planets, which is what I fear. If every desert planet, every rainforest planet, and every grassy meadow planet feel the same, then it really kills the drive to explore if you know that no matter where you go it's going to feel exactly the same as someplace you've already been to. Of course, there's no way to know until the game is launched, so it's a bit early to ask these questions.

Overall the best conference so far IMO, but I could totally see Nintendo defending it's title this year if they can pull some big reveals. Nintendo already has a jump-start thanks to their hype as hell Nintendo World Championships they did yesterday. And if they have anything good to showcase, the Nintendo Treehouse stream should be amazing this year as well. That being said, I think Sony deserves a 8.5-9

Except you're wrong.

Agreed. I don't think it would ever be topped.

Nintendo goes third-party.

Utilizing the advanced specs of the PS4(And Xbox One I guess?), they set out to create the very best Nintendo titles, with nothing holding them back.

Super Mario Galaxy 3, Legend Of Zelda 3D7, F-Zero RX, Metroid Prime 4, Super Smash Bros. Rumble, Super Mario Bros. 5, Donkey Kong Country 6, Punch-Out!! 4, Kirby Super Star 2, Mario Kart 9, Animal Crossing: Homebodies, Pikmin 4, Yoshi's Island 2, Mario Party Remake, Paper Mario TTYD 2, and Advance Wars 5 all eventually become things that happen.

Better yet, SEGA is absorbed into Nintendo, and together they single-handedly revive Jet Set Radio, Space Channel 5, and Crazy Taxi, while also creating the greatest Sonic game ever made with help from Nintendo EAD. They also make the real sequel to Super Monkey Ball 2: Super Monkey Ball 3.

Finally, Gabe Newell makes an unexpected announcement: "Half Life 3 - Episode 1 is happening!"

If THAT ever happens at an E3, then I think it can successfully trump Sony E3 2015. :)

So at this point, we're not going to hear about Level 5's game, are we? :(

It's probably not Dark Cloud anyway

Is it possible Level 5 is handling the FF7 remake and they just haven't revealed that yet? I don't know if it'd be that crazy since they did do a couple mainline Dragon Quest games for SE.

No the partner for FF7R is Cyberconnect 2.

Basically the most likely thing of all time. If they reveal that in the winter time, i'll be pissed that they thought they had to wait that long to reveal that information when it should have been obvious.

Man, I gotta say this before this thread eventually just gets closed.

Sony's E3 really delivered this year. Personally, I don't have much of a connection between the three megatons. Yeah, I'm interested in FF7 remake but it's not my top priority. Same thing can be said for TLG and Shenmue 3.

However, just seeing the emotions in the crowd and the reaction videos online really made the conference. You'd be dead inside if you simply dismissed Sony's E3 press conference as disappointing just because the announcements did not resonate with you. You'd be even more dead inside if you didn't feel even just a bit of joy when Shenmue fans got a sequel after 14 years of waiting. (Plus, there were some legit cool stuff at the conference too).

Personally, the message I got from the announcements (well, more from that Shenmue announcement), is that Sony is willing to listen to gamers and cut out whatever deal to get those stuck-in-limo game franchises back to their console at the very least. It was a very good moment.

Also, I think I'm pretty much posting this because this thread will be remembered in history. The first 60 or so pages of this thing is basically "OMG TLG WENT FIRST???" followed by around 20 pages later with "WHAT FF7 REMAKE"

--EDIT:
I wanted Rime to show up, but I knew that was a game that had better chances of being shown at Gamesconference/PGW, so I wasn't expecting it here. Wattam got buried though, and it wasn't even on the montage which is sad. They could have definitely snuck in that partydj.gif or Steve the shithead being chased by the toilet.

What's this guy's name?

This guy was pretty awesome

Sony's E3 conference still feels pretty unbelievable to me. It was that good.

Wowwww official FF7 Remake trailer on YouTube has over 7 MILLION views already! I knew FF7 was popular but that is just a whole other league this gonna be HUGE!

It's been days since the conference... and I'm STILL half-expecting to wake up, because The Last Guardian, FF7, and Shenmue III still feel like distant dreams from desperate gamers.

So surreal.

Well, you might have noticed the complaining about the Shenmue kickstarter, some shit about TLG graphics, and all the concern about FF7 Remake. Things always feel dream-like until the complaining starts - that's when you know it's really happening.

Well, I'm not a cynic. I'm a realist, sure, but I'm the type that simply CAN'T get my mood brought down by any complaining, unless the final game itself just outright sucks... which I doubt they will.

We're getting The Last Guardian. We're getting Final Fantasy 7 remake. We're getting Shenmue III.

Saying it out loud still puts a smile on my face.

That game is going to print money. Not only will sales for it be insane, but it'll boost the PS4 even further as well. It'll be the original coming out in '97 all over again.

The Last Guardian
Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Shenmue III
Nier 2

I'm in disbelief. Four games I never thought I'd see...

Best E3 conference I've ever had the pleasure of watching.

Nintendo new hardware, Zelda, maybe first in game trailers of FF7re, Shenmue 3 almost guarrantee a great E3 next year.

E3 overall might be topped, but I mean in terms of single conferences, I doubt this one will.

Even if Sony showed gameplay from FF7, Shenmue, and TLG, nothing beats the shock of a reveal

I still can't believe it either. I don't usually take a day off work for E3 but this year I had a lot of personal problems and I thought I'll rest at home and maybe catch E3.

I didn't expect to see any surprise but the whole conference just knock me off my socks since the start. By the time FF7R I wasn't sure if I was imagining the whole thing. I can't believe I even watched the conference live.

I feel that the most important thing that Sony gave us in this E3, more than just TLG FFVIIR and Shenmue 3, is the hope that dreams can come true =p

It may not be Shenmue for you but I think everyone can relate to having that one game that you thought would never come back.

Honestly, I dont know If this is a good thing or bad thing. I Want Socom 2HD soooo bad and now more than ever im desperate for hope after all of these announcements!

First-party dreams are less likely than third-party dreams, because Shu would probably rather invest in a new IP than a SOCOM reboot. =/

Adam even said on GB that had Sony chose to fund Shenmue 3 entirely, it would effectively become a 1st-party project that's super awkward because Sony doesn't own the IP, and Shu would have to manage the development of a project that wasn't his initiative to begin with.
