I think us Christians should practice more what we preach instead of taking the easy road of pigeonholing certain things we dont like and trying to justify condemnation of it.
I swear if Jesus actually were here and heard this kind of bigotry and hate he would :Picard
Not to mention that suddenly a whole lot of my fellow Christians are suddenly the Great Judgement. Correct me if Im wrong but God definitely wouldnt be happy about that!

I like how it just gets progressively more offensive, culminating in the classic paedophile association. That's the one thing that offends me the most to be honest, I can tolerate the religious comments because I am not religious.

#Lovewins is already connected with the Human Rights Campaign and their celebration of Marriage Equality. They've been using it for a while now, even before Ireland legalized Gay Marriage iirc.

Never mind. There are enough rainbows in my gigantic queer heart. Amazing couple of days - London Pride today too! It's so good to see all my straight friends rainbowing their Facebook profile pics.

Lol, it's already a hashtag in support of marriage equality. That's just going to backfire and people will think they're promoting what they're protesting.
 
May I just say how amazing it is to see the White House emblazoned in rainbow? I find it the most powerful image in all this. Open support for marriage equality went from politically unpalatable to no fear at all.

If you had told me 10 years ago that the White House would be openly supporting marriage equality for all to see - both literally and figuratively - I don't think I would've believed you.
 
We should ask some of these fanatics how they would feel if overt expressions of their faith were against the law. What if all their churches were forbidden and they had to keep who they were hidden from society? How can they not realize much of what they represent is just as offensive to large portions of society as gay unions are to them? That is my biggest problem with these people. They believe their faith gives them justification to mold society how they want it, yet are completely oblivious that they themselves are ever-increasingly moving towards the fringes of the pulse of our planet. They think they are the bedrock, the foundation of civilization, and all the while they slip further and further into irrelevance, into an appropriately antiquated vestige of human culture.

I wonder how many of these salty people are closeted gays. I heard in a podcast that probably the biggest enemies for gay rights are closeted gays and it makes sense when you see so many anti-gay politicians and pastors who have secret boyfriends. This talk of everyone is now going to go overboard and now fulfill their deep perversions sounds like a projection to me

I would say a large majority of people afraid of htis are either closeted and afraid of hte implications or else literally stuck in the 50s mentality or otherwise very very limited in their interactions with people who are not white, churchgoing, and privileged.

I really don't get the people who compare homosexuality to pedophelia and think transgendered people are "mentally ill". Like why would they think that? Do they not even know what a pedophile is? Because you have to not even know in the slightest what the word means to think it has anything to do with homosexuality.

One post was talking about how polygamy must be next because we're going down an immoral tunnel.

The funniest part, is that there's nothing wrong with polygamy / polyamory if it's between consenting adults. I'd be for it, even if I wouldn't practice it personally. Though it's funny that the person (and most people making the same types of arguments) are just all parroting the slippery slope fallacy.
