If you allow gays to marry then anyone can marry anyone! Breakdown of family nucleus! Moral degradation! Homos will rape our children! Panic in the streets!
Its all fearmongering and has never proven true anywhere gay marriage is legal simply because gay people and straight people are just people. The only difference is the type of sexual attraction.
If heterosexual marriage is so infallible then why is my Aunt and Uncle in a bitter divorce in which my two cousins are traumatically damaged from the drama of it and unable to hold down jobs or do well in school or socialize properly. This is a straight couple mind you. What happened there? I thought heterosexual families were a tight knit perfect unit? Turns out that people are people and some will end in bitter divorce or ruin the family nucleus no matter what the affiliation is. Some argue that divorce rates will go up in the gay community. Of course they will. Marriages dont always last. That doesnt make them any less or more likely to work out.
Every argument against gay marriage can be shot down because its all about fear of something thats different.

I don't unfriend people on Facebook over this stuff unless they become obnoxious shitheads on one of my own statuses. If I get tired of interacting with or seeing their content in my feed, I just unfollow or whatever.
If I defriend them, it ensures they don't see my alternative points of view that might, just might, change their opinion.
Edit: Though my feed has been filled with overwhlemingly positive responses to the SCOTUS's ruling, save one post about it being a "distraction" and another accusing them of tyranny or something.

Another fallacy is that if God truly created everyone, he also created gay people.
So he creates a person and then by virtue of them simply being a certain way they are now on a one way trip to hellsville according to beliefs. I believe in God but I definitely dont bleieve he would create a beautiful person and then condemn them to eternal punishment simply for existing. Especially not since WE BELIEVE THAT JESUS DIED FOR ANY SINS WE COMMIT ANYWAY. Its hypocrisy and contradiction all over the place.
Now lets say that was the case then. Ok well then even us heterosexuals would be held liable for any sins we make, including sex out of wedlock, lying, cheating, jealousy, sloth, greed...These are sins all the same. But somehow we can be "saved" if we just repent but oh no, not the gays. I doubt I could ever be protestant/baptist based on how much bullshit I call them out on, but being a Catholic isnt too bad. We believe in Saints and its a lot more laid back overall. I can deal with that.

It'll be around longer than a few months but, yes, of course this is what will happen. Then those people will pick another issue and we'll do this bullshit all over again.
That's exactly why I did it. I kept seeing scripture and claims of the end times, even from my own Father, so instead of getting into arguments that would solve nothing, I just did that which I think is more effective than engaging. It must make some of them seethe yet nobody has said a thing.
gotta keep people distracted on bullshit like this (which should never be an issue to begin with) otherwise we might start focusing on the bigger problems the country faces, can't have that!
