Fighting Games Weekly | June 29 - Jul 5 | Frauds Among U.S.

CEO was incredible. I've been going to majors pretty regularly for almost 5 years now and I think I had more fun at this one than any other despite barely playing fighting games at the event. I spent most of my daytime at the arcade. Had a 2-hour win streak on Virtual On at one point and got 3rd in a Puyo Puyo Tetris tournament.

And the hotel room was packed each night. Even Spooky stopped by to hang at one point.

Shoutouts to SixFortyFive not believing it was me when I told him during the salty suite lol.

Just saw the last match of Jan vs ChrisG. I have never seen such a hype Hulk team combo in awhile. He used Shuma's eye trap to OTG while he hard tagged Haggar.

The entire front row lost our minds over some of Jan's plays. Best top 8 I've seen in a long time.

Completely superficial reason , but the character design of like the entire 3S cast turns me off the game completely

I feel like NG had much fewer screwy character designs overall than 3S. That cast got weirder with each update.

I always thought Setsuna from Last Blade 2 looked badass even though I used Lee because he is basically reminded my of Jet-Li playing Wong Fei Hung in Once Upon a Time in China.

I always liked Asuka's alternate in Tekken 5. The design on the dress looked fancy and I think the black looks well on her. Though I dunno what Oh Great was smoking when he made Anna's costume for TTT2 but in general that guy must be on something to think of something like having President Obama swap bodies with a teenage japanese girl in a manga about motorized roller skates.

Q looks like he fits better in the SF universe. Twelve, he just looks really out of place for me, even with the SF weirdos lol.

Yeah Twelve is basically just a showcase the artists wanted to do or something. The whole game seems like Capcom gave the development team a huge budget and free rein to try to make something that would bring in World Warrior level profits again.

Time to get back into the USF4 grind for Evo, lol

I entered 5 games at EVO. I actually feel the pressure already because I'm kind of just winging it with the practice. I've also playing more Ryu in Smash even though he is banned at EVO because he's pretty damn fun. T7 I entered for fun even though I can't really practice for it besides trying some TTT2 stuff, I don't want to go 2 and out though haha. I'm also thinking about entering some side games, like VSav and ST, though I assume they are okay with on the spot sign ups. Maybe some +R too because I like playing Justice. I also don't know wtf I'm gonna do for Xrd, since I main Ram and haven't really kept up with the changes. I admit before I just threw out swords and winged it, super when I had meter and felt like I did alright but since that is out of the window I got to sit down and learn something lol.

SixFortyFive what's your next tournament besides EVO? Summer Jam?

marvel. Dont know what else all 3 play.

lol, vineeth plays sf, albeit hes not that good at it.

Attention all players looking to attend Canada Cup
http://canada-cup.ca/canada-cup-2015-registration/

Early Bird pre-registration ends in one day, so if you're looking to sign up then may as well do it now and save 5-10 bucks.

I'll be heading down there. See all you Canada folks down at Toronto.

That arcade looked awesome. I only saw a few pictures of it, but it looked like they had all sorts of games in there. Godliest arcade ever assembled.

Was 3s as much of a commercial failure as people always make it out to be?

I remember Street Fighter 3 being hailed as "most disappointing sequel of the year" by at least one major gaming mag, and the 1998 official Street Fighter championships (Umehara vs Valle) was played on Alpha 3 instead of SF3.

The first arcade version came out in 1997, when US arcades were already starting to decline. The home versions didn't start coming out until 1999, and they were Dreamcast-only until, what, 2004?

SixFortyFive what's your next tournament besides EVO? Summer Jam?

Probably TFC. I'm not going to EVO and I usually don't make it to anything that isn't 8 hours or less from Atlanta.

Well, that was 2nd Impact. First two iterations of SF3 were pretty terrible. 3rd Strike is a complete 180 in comparison.

I entered 5 too but I'm only really focusing on P4U2 and USF4. I can just kind of wing it in Xrd and MKX. I probably won't even play in T7.

i hope not. we need more 'esports' team diversity in the fgc rather than just a single team monopoly.

In a perfect world I'd agree, but, what if there aren't any other sponsors wanting to throw in? For a player of Infiltration's caliber to be unsponsored this long makes the finanicial side of this scene look like it's in a really bad state.

Found out I'm able to go to AX. SF5's going to be there, right? Guess I'll have a chance to play it before Evo.

I wonder how busy the lines will be. I remember AX with Xrd had pretty much no line. lol

IMO, FChamp does this for his advantage. That guy can download players in long sets.

Justin isn't stupid, he's prolly holding back so Fchamp gets overconfident.

Also, I am beginning to notice things when I play Persona, like how it feels a bit like Marvel and how Narukami is kinda similar to Vergil.

Does anyone here have a decent poison? I need to learn the matchup and Beef, if you're ever up for PC Ultra, add me: Yamithorn

I need experience in the T. Hawk matchup too. Wish I could play count with his deejay since why not lol

I'll probably go to TFC. I need more lessons from Tasif, dude is nasty with wolverine setups lol

Dude had fucking 5+ years to download Justin Wong................

You can't download madness. It was mess you up, that's how you get hit with a crouching light.

Justin isn't crazy, FChamp just doesn't have the right encoder to comprehend the data he's been given.

justin has one of the best neutral games in the marvel scene so thats all he needs to get in. people screw themselves over overthinking what might happen. granted, it is wolverine with tastu lol
