Ken's S-tier but probably has the worst match ups for an S-Tier character I've ever seen, lol. Aegis is super awful for him.

Ah. Last time I really paid attention, Mitsuru was S tier. Then I saw Ken tear Liz and Mitsuru apart with some very convincing screen presence and pressure.

Aigis in 1.1 actually beats Ken, Mitsuru, and Chie :v

In 2.0 a couple of major things Aigis could abuse in the MU have been toned down though, and Ken is mostly the same. It's probably not as bad. I only think it's 6-4 Aigis favor in 1.1 at that. Not much in this game really gets worse off than 6-4 until you go to the bottom, and 2.0 helped make that not so much of a thing.

Ken vs Aigis was def 6-4 but bordering on 7-3 in 1.1, IMO. She deals with Koromaru so well and beats Ken in neutral when played correctly. Her offense is super hard to deal with as well. Ken's saving grace is his damage output is super stable and his oki/vortex is so good.

Thos exist where it's a hard body 6-4. I could make the argument Aigis - Minazuki is worse than 4-6 if I wanted to, but I know it'd be kind of a moot argument because, well, Aigis.

Guess tournaments need more entrances and showy shit to get noticed

Which is fine with me tbh, CEO was hella fun

Yeah I think that wwesports shit is actually something the fgc could do to differentiate itself from dry ass stuff like Dota etc. it kinda comes naturally

Ken's toolset is basically long-range and 2-hit normals + fast moving Koromaru to cover him. It basically allows him to deal with most match-ups. He also can convert off random hits pretty well. His 5B has the 2nd longest reach as I recall, with Kuma's bat being the only one that has more but that doesn't get you a 3k+ combo easily, lol

His major weakness comes in zoning that can deal with Koromaru and fast rushdown because his buttons aren't terribly quick.

How is the dog balanced? Does it work like SLab, where the Persona is there all the time and has to be protected?

Ish. The dog has a healthbar, you can hit it and KO it for a few seconds by draining its health. Ken can make him go off screen but then you lose the dog during that time and he doesn't come back instantly.

This.

I don't play pressure Ken in 1.1 like everyone does so I'm actually looking forward to 2.0 if we ever get it, lol

Since we are all on the topic of P4 update.

Is Minazuki still as dumb and easy in the newer version? He is like the only fighting game character that is actually easy enough for me to do something with.

He's still pretty easy, but the real easy mode things like 5A cancel, 5A hitbox, and j.B hitbox got nerfed. Everything else is sitll pretty simple.

Speaking of Ultimax, I'm disappointed it isn't in the Atlus sale. How long do you plan on only discounting the region locked original?! I have no plans to really get into the game but I wish I could mess around with it.

Edit: ust cheked Amazon and it's now $20? Wish I knew about this before making my order a few days ago.

Minazuki doesn't get moon smasher startup invul anymore, iirc; this will hit online Minazuki players harder than anything else.

MSRP dropped from $60 to $30 not too long ago FWIW

I guess that's fair. What you can get from 5AA and how easy it is seemed kind of much compared to how most other things seem to work in ASW land. Where its mainly spend meter for corner carry and then do a big damaging combo. Then again I still don't get these games either.

Edit: Lol 75 meter moon smasher is the wake ultra of P4.

fucking lmao dying @ the opening lines of the article being

Not too long ago ESPN had that League of Legends star on their front page. In the future Sonicfox will be sponsored by ESPN.

Random musing: is Mark of the Wolves the only game where the MC (Rock) is absolutely trash? Most series at least has the main character be decent on the tier list.

you know what I like?

VF wasn't at Canada Cup '14. or '13. It wasn't even at Canada Cup '12, the year the game came out.

But it's there this year, because 3 and a half years after the game came out, there's a scene that wants it there.

that fucking rules

sigh...the only fighting game I find myself enjoying lately is TvC. None of the new stuff grabs me. I wish there were more Tag/assist games out there.

I think I need to pay more Skullgirls at this rate.

Regarding Yatagarasu backers:

If you received a code previously and have Yatagarasu in your Steam Library, the game's Alpha has been updated to the Final version. You will not receive a new email. If you have not received or misplaced your Alpha access key, contact info@nyu-media.com to have your key resent.

There are two "arcade" mode options because one is the 11 character-specific stories, and the other is an overarching story that is the same no matter which character you choose.

Also, please check out this video before you play online. You can have good connections up to about 200 ping if you now how to adjust the input delay: https://youtu.be/IOTaTpHOCJI

Lastly, less than 5% of the backers that CAN play are playing right now. This may go up as the week progresses as of course this is a weekday. Keep in mind that the game is still not out publicly.

I am also willing to field any questions.

Anne I'll reply to your message later today.

I hate to say it but the Moonsmasher loss is no big deal, people will just switch to using the counter super.

The real loss is the reduced hitstun on j.B. That move was quite literally the only way to force Mitsuru to respect you. Now Mitsuru is S tier and Minazuki can't fight her at all anymore; air to air, air to ground or even anti air. It's kind of painful to watch Minazuki's get mauled over and over by Mitsurus in JP arcades now, though I suppose it's not like he's the only character getting mauled...
