Fighting Games Weekly | June 29 - Jul 5 | Frauds Among U.S.

So I had to cancel my Evo trip a couple days ago. :[ Keeping the time off work so I can stream monster the shit out of it though.

Going next year for sure though. Nothing will stop me.

A friend in my crew made these shirts. Might grab one or wait until he makes a Duck Hunt one, lol

Also if my bracket doesn't change, looks like I'm up against CJShowstopper first round in Mahvel

I'll be supporting US in spirit

who does US even have compared to Canada-GAF

Time to call upon the OG's to protect Muricah. I will sacrifice 2 goats and a cow to summon Jlai, eva01, and Saty to defend the greatest nation in the universe against our Bagged Milk brethren.

Regarding registration numbers, I'm really interested to see how SFV does next year. It should feel somewhat like 2009 all over again when almost everybody playing the game or at least giving it a shot. It's a fresh start for a lot of people who never committed to or didn't like SF4. I feel like the numbers have to be 2500+ or it would actually be considered a disappointment.

Numbers for EVO are insane, even Ultimax kind of surprised me. Didn't think there'd be 437 people signing up for that.

For what its worth, its a really good game. Lots of mechanics makes it intimidating though, but it honestly feels like one of the easiest games I've ever picked up to create combos for. So much can just tie into the mashable Light attack combo string everyone has that it just sort of lets you hit confirm and convert into stuff on the fly pretty easily. Lots of depth too once you get into it...both in terms of defensive and offensive tools.

I'd recommend it.

Its what got me really deep into fighting games. You can play it as casual or deep as you want it to and have just as much fun with it. Its only problem is finding people to actually play with if you don't have friends.

Yeah after seeing the versatility of the whole string system in a fighter in both this and to a degree in SFxTekken it kind of makes me wonder if anyone will setup a Dynasty warriors set of strings for a fighter for folks to mash out and combine it with a typical setup of normals, specials, and other tools. Ultimax more or less proves the model a viable one to test out since it didn't replace normal combos, nor make mashers powerful while still allowing casuals to hit stylish combos easily to feel more excited about their experience.

Here's hoping. I'd honestly be down for Dynasty Warriors doin a fighter if it did that sort of thing. I could probably get my wife and some other folks I know into fighters seriously if someone combined strings like that with specials and normals they could link and chain into on the fly.

You know Dynasty Warriors 1 was an actual fighting game right? Hard to forget when this was one of the endings! (game wasn't very good though)
