Hipfire does more damage. It's 111 to the head, meaning if you manage to get two hip fired shots to the head you have a guaranteed kill in 0.26s, quicker than any other primary or even machine gun in the game.

You'll generally want to aim down sights though. Getting headshots is super hard from the hip, and the low ammo count means you want to make sure all your shots land. Some occasions call for hipfire but with practice you'll figure those out.

The #1 most important tip: resist the urge to always auto Fire. The gun actually works amazingly well at range if you pace your shots. If you're using it like an Auto Rifle, just spraying in enemie's direction, you'll kill less and die more.
 
First time IB. So what are the benefits of rank 5 in iron banner besides the weapon and etheric light? I was thinking about hitting 4 with first character for the class item and then ranking a second up to 3 for the etheric light because I'm not interested in the primary weapon for sale. If the second character gets double the reputation, that would be the fastest way correct?

Most people think that because of the bonus hipfiring is the better option for TLW but it's not....even if they fix the bugged damage proc this won't change. Unless you're Unstable. Dude is hip firing almost all the time.

Not really, you see him hip firing most of the time because he engages up close a lot. Most of us TLW users would be hip firing at that distance and you do see him aiming when someone is outside that range. I believe he once said so himself when someone asked the question if hip firing is something you should always try to use, to which he said no...same for fan firing. These are perks you don't actually want to be using all the time.
 
Wooo destiny Gaf is back.

So I have a level 32 warlock that has no exotic armour. Should I go for the apotheosis veil? I have 60 motes of light and I'm tempted to get the veil and shotgun. What do you guys think?
 
So they're redesigning Dust Palace and two other strikes while also adding The Taken enemies to them for Taken King...

Dust Palace, Cerberus Vae III, and Undying Mind.

Xbox folks will never get to experience our pain with OG Undying Mind it seems.

In all seriousness, it's hard to talk about "good" or "bad" fusion rifles in the game right now as they've been relegated to not being the optimal choice, ever. Up close you want a shotgun; from afar you want a sniper. They used to dominate the mid range (and honestly crept into long range which was a problem) but the balance changes have just made them useless.
 
Asked in an earlier page but it was toward the bottom so reposting: Anyone wanna do Trials? Going for armor, but anything extra is great. All three guardians are 34 and are rocking a 365 Thorn/TLW. I've gone 9-1 a few times, so I wouldn't expect a Mercury trip but it's within reach. Starting out with my Titan.

This game's servers are as consistent as TLW's ADS damage.

Trials offers, more or less, some of the best gear in the game right now. Or at least, what is perceived as some of the best because it's so rare. I think a lot of people have attempted Trials only to realize there's content(weapons, armor, the lighthouse enviornment) that they paid for and are never going to see/get.

I never used the Thorn, TLW, or the Hawkmoon until I started playing Trials. That's all I use because I know it's the best chance I have to get to Mercury again(I've only been once so far)

Yep it's very hard to go up against a team with Thorns using a legendary weapon, hell using any non exotic handcannon against a Thorn only team seems like a very difficult task. This mode needs some more variety when it comes to weapon usage, 55%+ handcannon usage is ridiculous.

That sniper is a thing of beauty, I'd kill a guardian in the tower for a Short Gaze/Hidden Hand/Injection Mold/Unflinching LGH/HB. An Efrideets Spear or Praedith's Revenge would be fine too, but nope, I got my 6th Gjallarhorn from Atheon yesterday :/
 
I can't get a good sniper re-roll for the life of me, yet for shits I re-rolled my new Judgement VI just a couple times and got AgB, Shot Package, Rifled Barrel and Luck in the Chamber. Geez. I have too many shotguns to choose from, but no snipers.
