Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - Comic-Con Trailer

I get that Superman broke Batman's building and that's why Batman wants to fight, but why is Batman in the desert in post-apocalyptic gear wearing a trench coat over his Batsuit fighting para-military forces with Superman's symbol as their insignia? It doesn't make any sense.

It's almost like you have to watch the movie to find out.

I love that Ma Kent is sticking with Pa Kent's school of morality.

Also, am I the only one that's really feeling Jess Eisenberg's character? He probably won't be a good Luthor (that title belongs to Kevin Spacey as Frank Underwood), but I think I'll enjoy his screen presence all the same.

It looks like it might be pretty decent!

That piqued my interest more than the teaser, but I'm still cautious about it since Man of Steel had some great trailers even though the actual movie was incredibly underwhelming for me.

He will be, the first official picture released of him was him bald.
Good to know, but I hope the headshave doesn't just happen towards the end. The trailer gave the me the impression that he stays this way for awhile, though obviously that could be deceiving.

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....

LOOKS AMAZING, IM FREAKING OUT

BATMAN, SUPERMAN AND WONDER WOMAN IN ONE FILM

Some of that CG is fucking comical. Like the CG grapple hooking Batman.

Of course there's time, but it's more the animation than the effects.
I liked the story line premise but i have to agree. The CGI for the grapple and Superman looked too fake. Also im not feeling the new Lex. He looks too young against Affleck and Cavil. Other than that i was mixed on WW but she looks great in action.

It's a trailer of a movie a year away. It's not going tell you everything about the movie.
EDIT: The movie is a fucking year out, are people REALLY complaining about CGI?

ehhh

coming off the finale of man of steel is a more interesting angle, but this is so gonna be that hyped comics event where the two beef for like 10 minutes & then team up

kinda wish it was allowed to be slightly less serious/dark but i'm prolly in the minority here

Aside from Batman actually looking and moving like a goddamn action hero, I think I actually liked Lex the best.

Overall though, the trailer is kind of a jumbled mess of a hundred different things. Definitely didn't give me the feels like Man of Steel's trailers did.

Snyder's always been able to cut a damn trailer. He's way better at that than he is at making movies.

I thought about this, too, and reasoned he didn't for exactly the same reason as you did. But the fact that wearing a suit and tie would reveal his identity only hammers home how incredibly silly it is that no one can tell they're the same person.

Wait I thought they knew Kent and Superman were the same person in this version.

Does it? Seems pretty balanced to me. We're getting a lot of Bruce introspection, reading newspapers, talking to Alfred and mourning Robin.

It's balanced in the trailer, but the POV seems to be Superman's, mostly. They don't like you, they're holding you responsible, Lex thinks you're shit, Bruce is mad at you, Mom thinks you don't owe the world anything.

Yeah, Bruce has reasons, and those reasons are being delved into, but almost everything we see in this trailer revolves around Clark, and is done as a means to prod/provoke/summon him. It appears he's the primary focus - the prism by which all the other story elements come into play. It reads to me like he's the central character.

Eisenberg is the exact same age as Henry Cavill.

I loved Michael Caine as Alfred, but it's great that we're (apparently) not getting another cuddly grandpa take on the character with Jeremy Irons.

I loved Nolan's Alfred as well though I wouldn't describe him as cuddly. However, it seems like they are going for a more physically imposing and possibly colder Alfred in this movie which is also cool. I really like the Alfred character on Gotham. The thing I liked about Nolan Alfred is that he wasn't some passive maniac whose like "sure thing Master Bruce do whatever you like even if it kills you and tons of other people." He actually cares about Bruce as a person and rather than fuel his obsession is willing to question it and secretly hope and attempt to have him overcome it. That's something that you almost never get with Alfred.

"You don't owe this world anything, even though you accidentally killed lots of people and cost billions in property damage!"

HYYYYPPPPPEEEEE

Eh, some of those lines in the trailer were really corny including that one. Why you being so cold Ma Kent?

Synder's done this to me before. Made me want to see one of his awful movies.

*crosses arms*

I harden my heart to you Snyder. At least until Barry Allen gets in the action.

*secretly hyped as fuck*

Yeah, as great as the trailer was I'm not that hyped for it. Snyder is known for making AMAZING trailers, in fact I can't think of a Snyder movie that had a bad trailer. MoS looked like the Second Coming in those pre-release trailers but what we actually got was a turd. Plus, that Watchmen trailer still gives me chills although I don't think the movie was really bad, Snyder did the best he could with the material.

Seriously, it's almost like the trailer wasn't the entire movie.

I liked Lex's dialogue the least. It's like something out of Newsroom and Eisenberg's delivery is questionable at best.

She saw her son nearly get killed, and the Government is coming after him. Can't say I blame her for that response.

Exactly. She is basically defending her son, who risked life and limb saving the world on his first day on the job, only to be made into the enemy for it.

Her position is totally warranted, imo.

Basically, Clark started something bigger than this universe is accustomed too.

I think she explained it a bit better than Pa did in one concise sentence. It's good to see Superman is making these moral choice on his own, not just because he was raised that way.

So was that shot of the building being heat visioned with Bruce running towards it supposed to be during the Battle of Metropolis?
