That's horrible, don't you have any empathy?

And literally 0 of those people would have died if not for Superman, and he did 0 to protect them. If the rumors for the villain in this next film are correct, they wouldn't exist without Superman either.

Lex isn't evil at all in this film!

Why do you think that? He doesn't have to stroke any fires, the worst disaster in American history just happened in Metropolis. I'd consider him more of a villain if he wasn't trying to get people to hate Superman.
You serious?

Superman saved 6 Billion people in Man of Steel

A little Off-Topic

Guys I'm huge Batman fan, I didn't start reading Batman till the New 52. My question what Batman stories can we get if he has been Batman for 20 years already? Can we get the Red Hood? Maybe that's why Arkham Knight was the way it was, because WB/DC is really anal when it comes to use different adaptations.

I'm really hyped for this I still remember the crossover in the cartoons when Lex hired Joker to kill Superman. If I have to be honest I kinda would of liked a Batman with a little less mileage on him.

All of them. We can get all the stories.

DC said New 52 Batman had his entire history (minus retcons) happen in.... are you ready?...... Five years. 20 years, he might as well be dead already.

That was the entire plot of Man of Steel haha. What are you talking about?

There are lots of planets without intelligent life on them. Like all of the known existing ones that aren't Earth lol

Are you a mental gymnast? Like, do you have medals and stuff?

can't believe they really doing Batman's fucking origin story again

how many times do we have to see those people get shot in front of their son. Doesn't Batman have enough to frown about in this movie already?

To be fair, Snyder is going to make this one wicked sexy. IMAX and everything!

?

You mean he had 5 Robins in 5 years? Damn Batman just stop

According to DC, in the 52 universe, yes. And if you are counting Stephanie in your Robin count, I love you and I want to be friends forever.

So Superman should live alone on a deserted planet and eat rocks. Gotcha.

I'm done.
He should have! That's why Lex is the good guy in this film. At the very least, Superman's already done enough damage, he's shown himself to be a force of destruction rather than good. Why would anyone not hate Superman?

Like I get that the whole idea is that "what if Superman existed in the real world?" But it's really misguided then because in the "real world" every sane person would be "evil" like Lex is in this film because Superman is terrible.

Your problem seems to be that the movie took place on Earth.
And let thousands of people get killed by a guy that was only there for him

Zod wouldn't have been on Earth if Superman wasn't on Earth!
So? Superman didn't know Zod even existed. And he sure as hell isn't the one who decided humanity should be wiped out by terraforming a planet.

When presented with the option of surrendering himself so Earth could be safe, Supes did it. Just that Zod said "I'm gonna fuck your planet up anyway." Supes said "Aw hell no" and did what he could to stop him.

If someone comes to a party, but they have some weird crazy stalker who they don't even know about who follows them to the party and starts fucking everything up, flipping tables, and attacking people, you don't blame the person being stalked. Especially when they're the one who stops the stalker.

We can definitely get the more interesting stories with a Batman who has been working for 20 years (which is around where I'd put him pre New 52). But measuring time in superhero comics is always eh. :P

3 or so years without a Robin -> 10 years with Dick as Robin --> 3-5 years with Jason as Robin --> Jason comes back after 4 or 5 years as Red Hood

I love Stephanie. I was so salty after they killed Damian, she was the reason I kept reading.

It was Lois that activated the beacon that allowed Zod to come to earth.

And yet they let thousands of people die anyway, and Superman has done more harm than good for planet earth. But for some reason we're supposed to side with Superman over Lex Luthor, the guy who's pointing out that thousands are now dead because of him?

It's such a terrible idea from a concept perspective. It's just so baffling to me that they allowed whoever came up with this stuff to launch the DC film universe.

It was Lois that activated the beacon that allowed Zod to come to earth.
Nah dude, it wasn't.

Yeah I know, I'm just saying what they've done before.

Still weird to me since I imagine Gotham as NYC.

Nolan had three different Gotham's in his trilogy. It looked like Chicago at one point and then NYC with some Pittsburgh thrown in. Batman Begins had a unique Gotham.

As long as they keep it consistent and have Gotham feel like a large northeast city with a touch of NYC.

Actually I was thinking for a while.

Gotham = Chicago

Metropolis - Detroit

If anything, Gotham = Detroit. Especially in this movie. They're going for the "former industry marvel fallen on hard times" vibe heavy, and not just because it was filmed in Detroit.

I love Stephanie. I was so salty after they killed Damian, she was the reason I kept reading.

With how popular he is, there was no way they were going to keep him dead. He even has is own ongoing title now!

Yes? Nightwing patrols New York City in the comics for a while.

Any idea how big Metropolis and Gotham are as cities? Just wondering because that could be another 10-20 million people added to the population of the US in this fictional world. Unless they decreased the population size of other cities.......not that any of this really matters but it got me thinking about that.
