Sam Raimi desperately needs to come back to the comic-book scene already.

I loved the Raimi Spider-Man films as a kid and I still think SM2's a great comic book film but to me comic book movies on average have got a hell of a lot better since. The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Batman Begins to name a few. Raimi had a big say in their ascendancy though.

"Leader", is that what they're still calling that murderer?

#Scottwasright

He's the leader that Xavier wishes he was without completely discarding the moral high ground like Eric when he gets in a genocidal mood.

Edit: And yes, DOFP was the best comic book movie last year. Like, easily. Singer has earned the benefit of the doubt for Apocalypse.

I can never tell if people are joking or not when they say five seconds of leaked, low quality, unfinished footage has deflated their hype for a movie.

It also made $700M, so yea.
Sometimes folks forget why they keep making these films with successful personnel.

This is my opinion of course, but I find on this forum that if you don't like x2 and spiderman 2 then we will heavily disagree on comic book movies. They are such huge staples of the genre quality-wise and imo singer has handled ensembles far better than Whedon has. The latter doesn't really give an arc to anybody he just focuses more on team banter. Some prefer that but I found that got old kind of quickly.

Dofp actually had some interesting drama with the characters. It's something I feel marvel studios in particular usually falls flat with. Plus I can't even fault singer's action filmmaking either because nightcrawler/qyicksilver/blink are some of the best displays of superpowers I've seen in movies. Looking forward to what I feel will be his last xmen flick.

Edit; edited to make my comment a bit more PC lol

Whedon is probably more limited in what he can do because all of his characters have their own movies. He can't fuck with them too much. Singer pretty much has free reign besides the Wolverine movies. I suspect that he pulls rank over the Wolverine movies though. Whedon has to place nice with the rest of the MCU.

I think you just identified why I think the Avengers movies are full of good scenes but feel hollow overall.

The other issue that Whedon has to constantly contend with is that he isn't as talented a director as Bryan Singer.

Returns if amazing. It may not be the Superman movie most people wanted--whatever that is--but it is a great film.

Magneto has had the same arc for three or four films now. Mystique for two.

This whole "Apocalypse doesn't look good" fiasco reminds of when people said the exact same thing about Quicksilver and looked how amazing that turned out.

It has potential to reach top 3 with the Rogue Cut

I saw it. It's pretty useless and doesn't make it even remotely better IMO but maybe hardcore Rogue fans will like it. She just doesn't really do anything but I guess it answers where she was. I mean to me anyway it just stuck out and screamed deleted sequence from a high precipice.

edit: she DOES something, just nothing that changes anything about the outcome or original cut.

He's been a whinny character throughout the X-Men books for years. Even now post AVX.

Maybe you sould source something other in the 90's X-men cartoon when talking about Scott Summers.

Bullshit. Best leader in comics.

Seriously! Cyclops is hands down, the best leaders, and one the the best tacticians. In the marvel universe. He's 12 times a better characters then wolverine will ever be.

Only proving his point. Out of Marvel Studios' catalogue, only The Winter Soldier comes close to Singer's flawed Returns film.

Still the best-shot Comicbook superhero film.

What? Nolan films look better than Returns by a mile. Rises might be shit but it's gorgeous. Returns is underrated but not good at all.
