That's all Batman does. And yet they call Superman the boring one.

I want Superman to say "You know Bruce, I can kill you instantly but I dont cause I aint a murderer instead I will just let you believe you can hurt me"

He will never say it tho.

i kinda want to know how that dude in man of steel on that boat was able to push supes away from the cage...does he have a switch that he can turn on and off or something or does he act ? acting all the time when something happens is a hard job for him you know :c

Setting up Lex as a modern-day Revere warning society of the coming danger these beings will pose to humanity's potential and ambition?

We can only hope

I disagree. I think that they're setting up something completely different; a Luthor who publically supports Superman as a means of gaining influence over him. The goofy delivery is because he's being sarcastic, mocking the idea that Superman would be a threat.

Listening to Zack Snyder talk about the casting choices and man... this guy could've basically gotten anyone for the roles.

He wanted Ben Afflect and he got it. He wanted Holly Hunter and he got it.

I'm actually wondering if she'd be Oracle (or Batgirl) already in this universe
Even if she is, Batman's been out of the game for 10 years or so. I'd imagine she's maybe retired too. Maybe the Batman solo film will be a "gettin the band back together" kinda thing.

Just to clarify.

Possible plot points in BvS

- Fallout from MoS, Supes on trial
- Angry Batman
- Luthor sweet talking his way to manipulate Supes
- Zod/
Doomsday
- WW plot
- Batman vs Superman (city on fire?)

Plus the rumored cameo of Flash and Aquaman.

How long is this movie going to be?
Judging by the trailer, it looks like Lex's sweet-talking will be more focused on getting in with the government to condemn Superman and allowing him access to figure out a way to destroy him. For example, who we presume is Mercy walking with two military men pushing Zod's corpse in a body bag.

It's probably Luthor now having access to all that material to fashion a way to take down Superman.

I'd also bet that Wonder Woman will be Batman's backup to take on Superman. It won't so much be about her history.

I think people overstate how much is going to be in this movie.

I want Superman to say "You know Bruce, I can kill you instantly but I dont cause I aint a murderer instead I will just let you believe you can hurt me"

He will never say it tho.

However after MoS he will instead say: "You know Bruce, I can kill you instantly but I dont cause I aint a murderer, except that one time when i broke Zod's neck, instead I will just let you believe you can hurt me"

I like this Lex, sort of. But who's with me in saying Duane The Rock Johnson would have been perfect for that role? He kind of looks like the Lex from the animated series, he's huge and a bad ass. I know he's going to be
black Adam
but it would have been awesome.

Lex is even doing the people's eyebrow

I have faith in this guy though. Kryptonite will knock his hair off, for sure.

He would've been great.

Zack Snyder talks about how they considered things like that (what impact forces have on him) in some interview, but I can't remember which.

The way it seems is that he gets displaced by forces just like any human would be, but is invulnerable. So, like, bullets push him around. So it seems like he can be picked up and thrown by a strong enough person if he allowed the opportunity.

Edit:
Interview

I took that as him mocking the senator.

Yeah, it definitely seems like it's him talking to the senator, trying to convince her Supes is a bad guy. I can imagine him being like "You can let him go, let him claim to do good for us all. But if you don't keep him in check? Before you know it, he'll be arriving with more of his people, all as capable as him of wiping us out. I can hear it right now... 'The red capes are coming! The red capes are coming!' Then what will you do?"

Dwayne sucks, I don't want him as Lex.

I think a lot of the people who view Superman as boring still have the image of him being an american invincible super hero.

Writers fucked him up so much and even though he isn't that anymore, most people still have the image of that.

So true, and they'll just keep their stupid idea and constantly shit post in every single superman thread that he's 'boring'. Un fucking believable.

Have we already talked about why Superman would be kneeling before Lex, allowing him to pet his face? What is that all about?

Kryptonite of course.

Not the rock, the song by 3 doors down makes Superman weak to the knees.

However after MoS he will instead say: "You know Bruce, I can kill you instantly but I dont cause I aint a murderer, except that one time when i broke Zod's neck, instead I will just let you believe you can hurt me"

I think this is more likely:

"You know Bruce, I can kill you instantly but I dont cause I aint a murderer, except that one time when i broke Zod's neck and caused the deaths of thousands civilians, instead I will just let you believe you can hurt me"

Even if it's the rock, Supes didn't look like he was in pain. He looked like he was actually kneeling, like a soldier to a king. I'll have ot rewatch

Considering the look on Supes' face, he definitely doesn't seem all that happy about it. Maybe Lex has Lois hostage, and is like "bow to me, or I'll have her killed."

Maybe, or like you guys said he's using the rock to make Supes do that and Supes is struggling against it..

Yknow, I get the feeling that the Aquaman cameo will be him and Wonder Woman meeting to discuss the threat that superman poses, with WW going forth to assess the situation and uncovering the Lex plot and bringing the two other heroes together.

I definitely think the whole Red Cloaks line is going to be him mocking the senator. I'm in two minds though. He's either taking the piss that she's worried about superman and is saying he'll be easy to deal with, or he's saying that she's not talking it seriously enough and that in time she'll be running to him for help. Its going to sound a hell of a lot better with context either way.

I want Superman to say "You know Bruce, I can kill you instantly but I dont cause I aint a murderer instead I will just let you believe you can hurt me"

He will never say it tho.

Only if Joe Kelly was writing this movie...he would make Superman say that.

Greg Miller's theory about the desert scenes:

He speculates, that those soldiers are manipulated by Lex Luthor, thinking they actually serve Superman, their God and leader and the scene Superman arrives, is the first time Superman is there and that's why he looks so angry.

And Lex has also manipulated Batman, so he actually thinks that Superman is leading them and that's why he's there.

But seeing Batman killing this one soldier let's me think, it's just a
dream sequence

I REALLY can't see that sequence being part of the actual plot of the movie.

Part of me hopes that BvS starts off like The Two Towers and it starts right as Superman and Zod are fighting. It opens with Bruce walking down the street and then he hears the fight and walks around the corner and sees them fighting and then runs down the street.

Of course in reality this is probably just a flash back.

I can't imagine that's not the opening sequence. Pan out with that shot of him with the little girl, and then title card. Or cut right to the Senator talking about the incident, or a bunch of media footage of everyone's thoughts on Superman.

I'm going to be very disappointed if this Lex somehow manages to manipulate both Superman and Batman. Like, maybe Supes with kryptonite, but Batman too? He's not even the "prime" Lex yet

Recently recorded a podcast with my thoughts but I'll put one of them here:

What if that dream sequences (what we assume to be dream sequences) are actually a vision that Wonder Woman (or another Amazonian, or even a Greek Oracle) sees as a possible future, if current events are left unchecked and allowed to unfold to their conclusion.

Thus she is sent to Earth, under the guise of being an Ambassador, but to actually steer the major players (Superman and Batman especially) away from that grim version of the future.

I'd be into that.

You are right. That's much more Supermany thing to say.

Batman to take a dip in Thor's magical pools!

That's brilliant if true.

Simo posted a good point before

Thats Wayne Manor top left (same arch above the middle, same gap between the far left windows), seems like a nebulous detail to include Wondys dream unless she specifically knows who Bruce is. I'm still leaning towards it a Bruce dream, but moreover that Lex somehow has that interrogation machine that was on Zods ship.

Would love that as a mega WW- and superman(when he isn't smashing cities to bits)-fan.
