SSB for 3DS & U - Tourney Mode, Youtube Replay DLC Stages and Mii Costumes (K. Rool)

It has to be an world wide update otherwise online wouldn't work. :P

True, very true. I'm just hyped lol, the idea of more stages and features available as soon as this very night seems too good to be true, even more so when Facebook in Smash said the 31th. I keep thinking they'll pull a Mewtwo and make the stuff available just for Japan tonight then tomorrow elsewhere. I really should chill

The colors come from SF itself. They even predate Smash 64 by several years.

It's not a reference to Goku at all, just a coincidence.
So it references the Goku reference in SFII Turbo :p

Agreed. More movesets for miis would be super appreciated... though actually being able to play online with randoms with them is a notch higher on my personal priority list for Miis :3

Off the top of my head I'm thinking:
* Magic User
* Heavy/Huge Melee Weapon (e.g. axes, hammers, basically something like the ore club)
* Musician :P
And another Mii Sword User because Smash can't have too many of those.

As much as I love Birdo, she doesn't have much presence and I wouldn't consider her an all-star character. I mean she's not even in Mario Kart anymore.
The problem with Mother brain is that she's a huge brain in a flask or a giant t-Rex. How is that gonna work as a character?
And while I consider Viridi more of a tsundere sidekick, she could be an interesting character as well, but Hades seems like it fills a more prominent role throughout the game as the big baddie.

And Zelda does have more villians, but they're just not popular/iconic. Vaati is the only recurring one and stars in a handheld game and a "spinoff". The others are more like oh right that guy... And while having Ganon/ganondorf might be sort of redundant, I don't see the problem if they look and play so differently.

And I don't think there's any iconic fire emblem villian, because they change from game to game just like their protagonists.
I think birdo's pretty well known. She's no mario or bowser but I'd argue more people know of her than some of the other villains I've seen people request :3

Can't argue with your KI thoughts, they seem pretty reasonable :D

Zelda's villains... I'll give you Vaati and probably Zant, but I think Ghirahim is surprisingly popular considering how iffy people are on skyward sword. I suspect there's a reason he made it to assist trophy :3
Cia I'm not sure about. Obviously HW players will know her but I don't know how much she's permeated outside of the fanbase. Admittedly I find her a lot of fun to play as so I'm slightly biased :P
Like you, I don't have an issue with Ganon also being in a game with Ganondorf :D

Musician and Sport player would be great when they could integrated Wii Sport and Wii Music franchises into their movesets.

I have been asking for Mii Wizard for awhile!

It's 7PM right now

I live in EST! I can see my clock. 11PM is 4 hours away from 7PM.

Edit: Oh, ok

lol..

I think things are usually updated at 11am Japan Time.. could be wrong though maybe it's noon? But if these are available in the eshop right away then the update will presumably hit before or just as the eshop normally updates.

As I think of villains I'm kind of surprised we don't see Kirby come up because his games are a goldmine of really interesting villains and bosses. We have Dedede and metaknight but Drawcia and co still reside in the darkness :P

Ooh! Sports is a fantastic idea! :D
I mainly thought of music because the idea of beating people up by rocking out with guitars and stuff is kinda funny, plus I've seen plenty of rapper miis XD
edit: also I could maybe try making a miku mii >.> <.<

Should have gotten Ana or Paula as a character instead of Lucas, they could use powerful PSI abilities and use a frying pan.

MB would be a pretty boring choice and there's already ZSS as pretty bimbo

I want kumatora as an alt costume for Lucas, but I'm honestly surprised we didn't get a color for her. I got my Boney shirt so in happy (even though I can't play Lucas for shit)

To be fair, Birdo last appeared in MKWii, which is also the last appearance of Diddy Kong and Bowser Jr. in a Mario Kart game.
Right, but she'd be the most c grade inclusion in the franchise by far. My point about villians started because someone said Wart would be better than K Rool, and while I love wart and hope he returns to the Mario series, a dormant one time villian doesn't scream big star to me. I mean what's the point of padding franchises just because.

Birdo is well known, but so is shy guy goomba, Koopa troopa and the sorts. All of those are more popular than half the smash bros cast, but the problem comes with how do they compare with the other characters from the same franchise, and that's where they come up in a bad light.

And I'd love Girahim, I think he's pretty awesome and was rooting for him to be included. But sadly it seems more like his time has passed as flavour of the month character. Much better choice than Yuuga as well.
And sadly I haven't played Hyrule Warrios , but she's a spinoff villian so it doesn't seem like a choice to get excited about.

After having some time to digest it, I think the Mii costumes don't bode well for K. Rool, if only on the grounds of they want the winner of the ballot to be a surprise and making a character that already has a Mii costume would take a way that element of surprise. And besides, they'd have seen the initial wave of votes when it began and I would think have started work on the ballot winner, why would they make a Mii costume based on K. Rool if he really was one of the frontrunners? But whatever, I'd be happy to be wrong, I'd like to see K. Rool in but there are other characters I'd rather see make it in first (like Dixie or Cranky if we're talking DK).

As for the update, more stages is great news, I'm actually at a point where I'm satisfied with the roster for the most part (Wolf and Ice Climbers would be the icing on the cake) so I'd personally like to see more stages being the focus, for the next few months while the final wave of characters are (presumably) being worked on.

Holy shit, a Lloyd costume. I wanted a real version of him but better a costume than nothing. Next I want a Baten Kaitos rep.

Snake's victory theme is found in the data.
Everyone goes ballistic.

Why did you do that!? You knew it wouldn't happens!

Sound good to me!

At this point I've given up any serious hope I ever had of the Chorus Kids happening, but man it would be a nice surprise if evidence of them was found in the new patch.

The completion and release of the Dr. Mario stage (assuming it's real, and I think it is) has given me a tiny glimmer of hope that other scrapped-in-development stuff, like the Chorus Kids, may eventually see the light of day...

At this point, I imagine the only thing that could possibly be holding it back is the 3DS version.

Though it also depends on how completed they were. It might be better to hold them back for another Smash Bros. later on.

Phoenix Wright Mii Costume sound great so I'm totally up for it.
Which one, though? College Wright, AA1-3 Wright, Disbarred Wright, or AA5 Wright?

This. We don't know the reason for the removal of the Rhythm Heaven rep (whoever it was). Could have been time constraints, could have been 3DS limitations, could have been anything. If nothing else, the fact that a rep was being made at all does bode well for the future inclusion of said RH rep, whether it's the completion of the scrapped one for Smash 4 DLC or said rep's inclusion in Smash 5. This would vary depending on, like you said, how complete they really were & if they can be wrapped up without the 3DS holding it back. Though if nothing else, assuming the Dr. Mario stage leak is real, Sakurai isn't opposed to finishing previously-scrapped content & releasing it later as DLC.
