SSB for 3DS & U - Tourney Mode, Youtube Replay DLC Stages and Mii Costumes (K. Rool)

Guys....what if these are all actually the next DLC characters and they are just fooling us by making us think they are costumes?

Sorry, I didn't actually mean they would call it Smash Bros. for NX. I just meant they'd re-release it. (This is a real issue with the game's title lol). I imagine they would just call it something else. Maybe actually slap a 4 on it, or a subtitle.

Just to play devil's advocate, that's only a hat, and you didn't have to pay for it. It would be kind of weird to offer a premium Mii costume set and then later charge for the very same character that the Mii costume was based off of. I suspect some big K. Rool fans will be paying for his Mii costume just to have some representation of K. Rool in the game. It would be underhanded on Nintendo's part to later make them pay again for the real K. Rool.

Mawile costume (or even just Mawile hat) would seriously be the best thing ever. ALL MY MONEYZ.

I want more Splatoon costumes. Octoling, Callie, Marie and an Annie wig (complete with Moe).
 
I was kinda halfway toying with the notion that Sakurai will reveal more costumes today then reveal that one character from each of the three days is coming as DLC. Example:

Wolf Mii Costume revealed today
Some other Mii Costume revealed today

Reveal that playable Wolf is available today and K. Rool and Lloyd are coming later.

I dunno though that'd be my high end bet. Honestly I don't even know what Sakurai is doing anymore so I don't bother being grounded.

Plus if I just keep repeating to myself that Sakurai is Lord and knows best for me, it's all okay ;-;

Definitely! My Mawile Brawler looks good, but I can't find a costume that makes her body very mawile-ish (I use the vampire set for now) plus a tiny ponytail is a very poor substitute for the giant hair mouth thing :P

While my inkling looks good enough to make people do a double take, the eyes still aren't quite right... I just wish we had more tools for mii creation sometimes :/
 
A update needs to be the Mii Fighters playable online. The costumes could actually work if that was possible. Even if it defaulted you to a specific look for online matches. So long as you have the costume it wouldn't be a big deal.

It also seems odd that they are still making Mii costumes instead of character alt costumes. There is no patters, or rules. Sakurai does whatever he wants. I ain't writing anything off until Smash stops getting DLC.

Exactly. Both with Inklings and King K. Rool, everyone's saying "a Mii Fighter outfit doesn't mean anything," but really, it does. This isn't like on-disc outfits, nor is it like the paid DLC Link outfit which is based on an on-disc character.

(At least I can hope for an Agent 3 Inkling, lol.)

You're giving them way too much credit in terms of providing discounts. I mean, sure, the cross buy discounts are nice if you're like me and buying the content for both Wii U and 3DS. But the lack of any bundles at all is something I find very disheartening. And yeah, I know that they did have a Bundle #1 and a Bundle #2, but I just laughed when I noticed that Bundle #2 was -- to the penny -- just the cost of Ryu/Roy/Lucas/Dream Land/the new Mii Costumes added together.

It wouldn't be any different than them providing discounts for those who bought Wii virtual console software then want to upgrade to the Wii U version. They've never done anything like this with regards to in-game content so they could very well start providing discounts for fighters that are Mii costumes then become official.
 
Regarding Mario, I'm still disappointed that there was no overalls costume for the Mii. It seems like such an obvious inclusion...

Overalls that changed shirts depending on what your Mii's favorite color is would be absolutely amazing.

Such crazy flexibility. You could make everything from Waluigi to Balloon Fighter.

Especially if there's a neat easter egg where purple or yellow Miis actually change the overalls to black or purple.
 
all I really want regarding mii costumes is to be able to chose the colors of the pants separate from the shirt.

And for the record, my character pick is the same as the last time I was part of such a discussion: Galactic Federation Marine from Metroid Prime Federation Force. Why? Because some people just want to watch the world burn. You wanted Ridley? Well too bad. Here's another Metroid character though!

Yeah, its about time they did that.

Even cooler would be if there were multiple default looks that were selected based on the costume you are wearing. For example, if you have full Lloyd costume, you get the default mii of Lloyd.

I'd honesty be okay with this. You'd have a unique Metroid newcomer who wouldn't cause balancing issues like Ridley would with his sheer size.

Well, after the King K Rool costume we know Sakurai isn't above adding characters of bad taste into Smash.

But what we really need is a grapple based Mallo from Pullblox/Pushmo series.
 
Still no information on server maintenance times from Nintendo.

This patch is really strange. The way it's announced is odd, everything seems so last minute. If not maybe a little rushed.

We know next to nothing about what time it's coming out, prices, or even all the content and it's supposed to be out in Japan by morning, which is only in a few hours...

I'm seriously getting the feeling a Direct was planned and was canceled.

Some people don't want Ingrid to ever appear again in a street fighter game. I actually quite like Ingrid but I don't get bent out of shape over the fact some people dislike a character that appeals to me: we all like different things after all :3
It's not like our opinions matter much anyhoo: the devs ultimately just put whoever they want in their games in the end XD

Admittedly, I really should stop putting little 'barbs' in my post about K Rool, but sadly I've yet to mature enough as a person to completely avoid my rabid hate for the character making itself present in my posts and for that I apologize to any fans of him :/
I'm sure one day I'll learn to ~insert 'let it go' image here~ but for now my perception of him being a lazy and terrible character design still bubbles away in quiet rage: As someone who holds themselves and many other things to a high standard I get easily infuriated when something I consider genuinely awful gets lauded. It's a character flaw of mine i'm still working on :P

Considering the whole Iwata thing I can imagine there's been some turmoil within Nintendo as people get used to changes, so it shouldn't be too surprising :o
