Microsoft Gamescom 2015 Conference

Incorrect. The TOS clearly states that if your opinion lends nothing to the discussion, it's not wanted or needed and can be treated pretty strictly, depending on the circumstance.

Try again.

So you're saying the original post that the guy was arguing about is not adding anything? Is this the right circumstance then to be strict?

Score: Grade B

Highlight: Quantum Break

Low point: I was left wondering just how many Halo and Gears games they are going to make and whether or not Microsoft has just turned Halo into a yearly franchise?

Of the big list of exclusives for the next 16 or so months, anyone know which have been confirmed to ALSO be coming to W10, not just X1?

MS could have shown 50 exclusive games all AAA quality and some people here would still say "that conference sucked". Nothing anyone can do about that.

For me, it was a great showing. It made me interested in more games then i thought, and damn the destruction in Crackdown looked awesome ( don't care what the haters say ) they do need to fix they feet slipping though. Overall I give that presentation a 9/10

I'm surprised that people enjoyed the conference so much. I thought everything shown looked weak, and the Halo eSports thing was an unending nightmare. Very disappointed that Quantum Break is pretty much just a cover shooter and that Scalebound looks so damn slow. Puzzled that their big one more thing was a Halo Wars sequel and that they chose to highlight the shitty looking Homefront sequel.

At least they showed up, I guess.

You clearly weren't paying attention.

I was kind of underwhelmed. Nothing was bad though. Just very little that was spectacular.

Thinking Sony was right in their thinking of there not being enough time between E3 and Gamescom to put on something memorable.

Microsoft probably could have easily moved Scalebound/Quantum Break to E3 and it would've strengthened that conference way more.

It was a decent conference. I liked the announcement that you'll get all of the gears games as download when u buy the ultimate edition since I haven't played any of them before.

I agree, and we could have cut a lot of the filler. Oh well.

So with Sea of Thieves coming in 2016, does anyone else get the vibe that it will ship free to play and be more like Fable Legends, a game as a service, and add content as they go along? :/

I'd assume so. I think 'MMO' is pushing it a bit far from what I understand, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were a 'service'.

Who knows? None of us.

If Scalebound get's announced for PC, I have no interest in an xbox one then. Seems most of their games lineup is on PC. Did they mention HALO WARS 2 coming to PC?

I missed that whole section of the conference.

But to me Quantum break looks boring, I don't like they changed the main character, unless this is another character you control outside of what they showed last year?

Outside of Halo wars 2 and Scalebound, nothing in that conference excited me.

Felt way too formulaic. Too many shooters, not enough diversity in types/genre's of games.

Just my 2 cent's

Yep Halo Wars 2 is on Win10 :)

There was only one shooter in the conference, Halo 5.

Yeah had no interest in Scalebound before, but now action rpg sign me up :)

Can't help but to tip my hat to MS right now. They are killing it on the first party side. Its like a complete reversal from last gen, Sony and MS have switched roles first party wise. Incredible. If you buy one console, it is really hard to argue today that it shouldn't be an Xbox One.

Some people will never be impressed by a specific platform purely due yo brand.

Overall this conference was very solid like the last.

Next year will be very interesting as most of these games will already be released by then. Should give us a real loom at what kinds of deals Phil has in the pipeline and what first party are upto.

I'm so happy that cities skylines coming to console, although it's coming to XBox one first... Happy nonetheless.

A lot of reallt good looking exclusives coming out over the next 16 months. This conference just highlighted that as well as added a few to the list. I'm a happy xb1 owner. I wish I had more time to play all these games.

I'll be getting an Xbox One as soon as a nice, affordable 1TB bundle comes out or, more optimistically, an Xbox One Slim (because the thing is gargantuan still).

I have my X1 side by side with my slim and the thing is slightly bigger than an Xbox Slim. And more importantly the machine doesn't make a racket when you're playing a game.

At this point, Microsoft has addressed every last single solitary complaint I've had since their pre-launch debacle.

Pretty much the same for me. I was planning on getting an XB1 during Black Friday this year but was really hoping for a slim version. Doesn't look like that's going to happen in time so I guess I'll be clearing some shelf space.

If nothing before (E3) got you excited, then it is no surprise that what you saw today did not do the trick.

But please tell me where you saw Halo Wars 2 before today?

I am excited for Forza 6 in September and Halo 5 in October. That is just this year.

Well, I've not seen halo wars 2 before, but the clue in what I was getting at would be the "2".

Maybe the xbox isn't for you? And that's okay. The PS4 has a lot of great games too, I hope you enjoy them.

I like some of the stuff Microsoft is doing, I just want them to do more of it. 360 BC is fucking awesome. Even if I was underwhelmed by the game, it's fantastic that they went out and got a Kamiya game, and I'm sure it will end up great. Rare Replay is a cool thing. I played Sunset Overdrive for an hour or so and I loved it. So that's why I keep tuning in. They aren't EA where I don't care at all.

The eSports thing really turned me off but it's not catered towards me anyways. Other than that I thought the overall conference was fine. Presentation could have went a lot smoother for sure but the content shown was superb imo.

Scalebound: DmC Dante got a dragon, yawn.
Crackdown 3: Yes, in my veins please.
Halo Wars 2: Cool, don't really care though.
Quantum Break: Neat.

Easily a 7/10 for the good stuff. Just wish Scalebound wasn't a letdown.

I kinda wanted them to announce an Xbox without the TV stuff. I never watch it. :(

There is really no need to.

The only thing they could scrape is the HDMI-In port. and this will not be THAT expensive.

The rest is all software, and you wouldn't save anything if they just erased this. There is no point in doing that, when you can just not use it.

Scalebound and Crackdown 3 both look really good. Kinda regret not getting the Xbox One during the last big sale. Think they'll do a sale that big before Halo 5 comes out? The current one with a year of live ain't bad, but not quite as good.

How expensive? Even if it makes it €50 cheaper I'll take it.

Without the tv stuff? Do you mean the HDMI-in Port?

I guess so. In my mind it would make the XBO smaller and cheaper. Could be totally wrong though.

They give these things away almost. I missed a couple sales and an even better one came along. I'd suggest watching slickdeals and setting up an email alert.

Wait for Black Friday. There will definitely be a sale.

It wasn't great, but it was enjoyable to watch. These conferences are always what you make of them. For most of their titles (mostly the 2016 stuff), I feel like I simply need to see more gameplay (although I do realise that me not owning an XBO at this point makes the games look less attractive simply because of the higher barrier of entry - I'm sure I'd be much more positive about what was shown if I could play it all on PC). At the end of the day, there's only so much you can reveal over the course of a year, and if you choose to hold multiple spread out events, they're all going to end up being a bit lighter on the content. Still, I really prefer the more continuous approach to having to wait for the next E3 each year (even though I love the crazy hype fest that early June is).

Pure speculation but a slim model would probably be more noisy, I really appreciate how silent the xbone is even on heavy load

I'm looking forward to Scalebound game looks like it escaped the late 90s, so bizarre

Besides Halo Wars 2! awesome!
