My first instinct says the skull is an NPC. As scary as it seems, it just seems like something that will end up talking to you and imparting forbidden knowledge, or tasking you with something that may or may not work out for you (similar to the primordial serpents in the first Dark Souls).
Best-case scenario, the skull asks you to sit down and then proceeds to do stand-up comedy (skull-up comedy?) until you stand and leave.
Really? It doesn't seem to match.I think it's the giant torso boss we saw in the trailer.
I don't like this trailer. Way too many boss spoilers. :\
PS marketing team did it right with the BB ones.
did he stab him with the arrow?!

I'm really bummed out by this whole announcement. They're doing the opposite of everything I wanted.

All that wonderful souls art but crazzzzzy aliased.

Where are all these other great Bloodborne type games I want dark Fantasy fatigue too.
It's super distracting and ruins any detail in some of those scenes. Disappointing.
The rolling looks a lot faster and more fluid than the one in DS2, which felt very stiff to me.
It's mostly From and their very annualized approach to these games.
2014 - Dark Souls II & the Crowns Trilogy
2015 - Bloodborne & Scholar of the First Sin
2016 - Dark Souls III & the Bloodborne expansion (unless that is 2015)
Das a lotta stuff, even if you ignore the re-release of SotFS. It becomes very samey. The formula is clearly getting twerked out hard from the company.
It looks like Demon's Souls actually.
